Yensa Pumpkin Turmeric Polishing Mask & Essence

Yensa is an upscale indie brand that I discovered in my Ipsy boxes. It is natural and cruelty-free. The woman who started Yensa is an American of Chinese descent whose brand mission is to combine eight Superfoods with ancient Asian practices. Yensa is sold at Nordstrom, Saks Fifth Avenue, QVC, and on the Yensa website.

So far, I have tried at least two Yensa products:

Yensa Pumpkin Turmeric Polishing Mask & Essence

Pumpkin Turmeric Radiance Polishing Mask & Essence is primarily a physical exfoliator. I didn’t realize that until I used it. It has fine polishing grains suspended in the clear gel.

Its benefits, according to Yensa, include the following:

  • Infused with 8 SuperOrange Essence
  • 2-in-1 nourishing mask and face polish
  • Hydrates to leave skin smooth, supple and radiant
  • Pumpkin boosts collagen
  • Turmeric soothes skin
  • Ginger evens skin tone
  • Papaya helps with discoloration
  • Grapefruit brightens skin

The 8 SuperOrange ingredients include lots of antioxidants:

  • PUMPKIN
  • TURMERIC
  • PAPAYA
  • GRAPEFRUIT
  • GINGER
  • CARROT
  • HONEY
  • ORANGE

You apply a thin layer of the gel to your face after cleansing, and leave it on for 5-10 minutes. Massage your skin with your fingers in circles. Pay special attention to areas like the nose and cheeks where you may have visible pores. Rinse with cool water. Easy peasy.

Your skin looks radiant and smooth afterwards. Actually, it really does!

Yensa says you can use this mask 3-4 times a week. Unfortunately, physical masks with exfoliating grains are just too irritating for my dry, somewhat sensitive skin. Usually, I stick to chemical exfoliators, but hey, I got this in my Ipsy box, so why not give it a try.

So, I am trying to give this once used exfoliator away to someone in my local Buy Nothing group.

Nevertheless, if you have combination, oily or even normal skin, I still recommend Yensa Pumpkin Turmeric Radiance Polishing Mask & Essence. I think that this polishing mask is targeted to younger women than I.

The essence part means you don’t have to follow up with an essence or toner afterwards, but I would anyway in spite of the built-in turmeric for soothing.

Yensa Pumpkin Turmeric Radiance Polishing Mask & Essence comes in a recyclable plastic tube containing 2.5 fl. oz. and is priced at $45. Check it out at Nordstrom, Saks, QVC (where you can now get $15 off $35), and the Yensa website. The vast majority of reviewers absolutely loved this mask with all but a handful giving it 5 stars and very enthusiastic reviews.

  1. Hi, Allison – I am with you 100%. My skin can’t take polishing grains. But other than that, Yensa’s ingredients are awesome! It takes a lot of knowledge to combine these into super effective skin products. It sounds like a joy to use them in general. Thanks for sharing this find. – Angie, http://www.yourtrueselfblog.com
