Youth Fairy from Fleur & Bee – you’ll love this low retinol moisturizer

PR Sample, Unaffiliated Links

You don’t know how lucky you are that you have so much access to fine skincare due to the Internet. As an oldie I didn’t have it so the information I got was either on the side of a box, a magazine article or from a sales associate who often worked on commission. While those ways of learning are still available you can now go into depth on products via blogs (might I mention Never Say Die Beauty), websites, Instagram and user opinions on Facebook. You are able to discover brands that aren’t available in your typical stores. Ones like FLEUR & BEE that have high quality products at reasonable prices.

I’ve been extremely lucky to experience Fleur & Bee skincare and am so happy to introduce you to their newest product: YOUTH FAIRY, Retinol Moisturizer. We all wish we had a youth fairy I’m sure but Tinkerbell isn’t available to us all. Luckily Fleur & Bee has developed a product that moisturizes to help achieve a younger looking skin even if you are an oldie.

According to Wikipedia “The retinoids are a class of chemical compounds that are vitamers of vitamin A or are chemically related to it. Retinoids have found use in medicine where they regulate epithelial cell growth.” Retinol is a first generation retinoid and is available in over the counter products unlike earlier variations that were by RX only. Too much retinol can cause your skin to peel as it helps to turn skin cells over. I have never really used retinol or retinoids so the gentle 0.03% of Retinol in Youth Fairy is great for me.

This retinol moisturizer is lightweight and has just a hint of a fragrance. Within minutes I don’t notice that so I’m able to use it day or night. At first I used it every other day but I haven’t had any irritation so I can use it daily. Always start slow with a product that has retinol and build up when you are sure it suits your skin. YOUTH FAIRY has been kind to my skin. It works to help firm skin and reduce the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, dark spots, and uneven texture.

With 18 Nourishing Actives there is so much good going on:

Retinol
Evening Primrose Oil
Aloe Vera
Squalane
Plant Stem Cells
Coenzyme Q10
Vitamin E
Sea Buckthorn Oil
Sunflower Oil

Frequently asked questions:

  • What age is it designed for? Youth Fairy can be used as early as your 20s ; it is ideal for those in their 30s to 100s. (phew, I have years to go).
  • Why is the cream yellow-ish? Sea Buckthorn Oil gives Youth Fairy its yellow hue. Sea Buckthorn Oil deeply hydrates the skin and adds additional antioxidant properties to Youth Fairy.
  • What should I avoid when using a retinol? It is best to avoid use of benzoyl peroxide and AHAs (alpha hydroxy acids) when using retinol.
  • Can I use Youth Fairy with my Vitamin C serum? Yes, but with care. Do not layer a vitamin C product with Youth Fairy. If you want to use both a vitamin C product and Youth Fairy, apply one product in the morning and the other in the evening. Combining vitamin C with retinol can result in irritation.
  • When will I start to see results? As with most retinol products, it typically takes 12 weeks to see results. Your skin will be instantly hydrated and moisturized with proper application.

While Youth Fairy may not be for everyone, it’s been a boon for me. The Evening Primrose Oil helps to moisturize my skin while the Plant Stem Cells are protective and rejuvenating. It’s a great introduction to a retinol product if you don’t currently use one. No peeling in this gateway product. Just smoother looking skin that looks like the Youth Fairy visited and left the surgeons in their offices counting their money.

  2. This sounds like a wonderful retinol moisturizer to start out with. Plus it has 18 actives, so it must provide a lot of different skincare benefits. I love the bright yellow color too.
