OMG, I am so exhausted that it requires too much energy to even breathe. I just got in from shoveling snow for 3 and a half hours. Our Nor’easter yesterday dropped about 7 inches of snow, much less than predicted, but then it turned to rain and compacted and drenched the snow, and then it all froze solid. My house and property are encased in ice. I am the Ice Queen. Did I mention that my house faces north so I get no sun to help melt the ice and snow?
Anyway, I was going to post about all the eye makeup that I received from Jesse’s Girl for spring, but that will be a long post and I’m too tired right now. This will be a short post instead about two lip products from Jesse’s Girl.
Matte Finish Lip Color
You know that I complain all the time about my super dry lips and that I can’t wear liquid matte lipstick. I did find another brand of good-for-you premium liquid matte lipstick that I wear from time to time, Highlight Cosmetics Liquid Matte Lipstick, reviewed here. But I am thrilled that I just found a more affordable alternative, Jesse’s Girl Matte Finish Lip Color. I received a beautiful caramel-nude (I call it dusty rose) shade, Angelic, that suits me well. And did I mention it doesn’t dry out my lips? And it doesn’t flake off my lips like Tarteist liquid matte lipstick does. Although Jesse’s Girl Matte Finish isn’t hydrating, it isn’t drying. It’s very smooth probably because it has dimethicone in the formula.
It’s very easy to apply with the doe-foot applicator. It dries fast and doesn’t transfer. It lasts me for about 5 hours, and it leaves color on my lips over time. I don’t think it has a scent.
I like to wear Angelic on its own, and it also makes a fantastic long-lasting base under Darling Girl Balm Gloss 3D, shade Leeloo, that I wrote about here recently.
Matte Finish Lip Color comes in 5 shades that represent a good variety of colors. I’m planning to pick up another one in a gorgeous red. $3.99 Sold on the Jesse’s Girl website and at RiteAid.

Twist & Shout Lip Balm
I also received a tube of Twist & Shout Lip Balm in the shade Bobby Boxer, a pale somewhat sparkly tangerine-flavored balm that to tell you the truth doesn’t really have any color that I can see. But it is lightweight and nicely hydrating. If my lips are dry, I sometimes will apply this first and then put the Matte Finish Lip Color over it. Mostly I wear this around the house because it feels so nice on.
It comes in 5 shades, but I don’t know if they have more color than this one. I assume they are flavored to go with the color tube they come in. $2.99

So I’ve found my favorite liquid matte lipstick with Jesse’s Girl Matte Finish Lip Color. Have you tried it?
The liquid lip color looks very pretty! I haven’t had a chance to try these yet, but hopefully I will next week.
