Studio Gear CC Cream SPF 20: Natural

A couple of weeks ago, I received a deluxe sample of Studio Gear CC Cream Natural SPF 20 to try out from BrandBacker, a blogger association.

In spite of the fact that I have two CC creams in my rotation that I already like, I’ve found myself reaching for the Studio Gear CC Cream instead!

Studio Gear CC Cream comes in 3 shades: linen, natural, and wheat. The range appears to go from very light to light to medium. In addition, this CC cream is color-adjusting, similar to the Almay Smart-Shade Foundation that’s one of my favorites. At first, I thought the Natural shade was a little dark for me (I’m often in between Fair and Light shades), but the more I use it, it looks to me like I’m getting a really good match. It comes out of the tube a whitish-grey shade, and then it disappears into my skin. I know some women don’t believe in the color-adjusting formulas, but they work for me!

Studio Gear CC Cream feels lightweight (it’s oil-free), but it provides medium coverage. It covers pores and small imperfections very well and is very natural-looking. My dark spots from sun damage require concealer, but that is true of all the BB, CC creams and foundations I’ve tried.

It has a dewy finish initially, and once it “sinks in”/dries, it looks very natural. In addition, it does seem to brighten my skin. Importantly, I get all day, very comfortable wear.

What I like most about this product is the smooth and soft feel of my skin. I noticed that dimethicone is the second ingredient listed after water, so that’s why it feels so smooth. (I don’t have a problem wearing products with dimethicone, though some women do.) Also, it contains sodium hyaluronate that helps hydrate my skin. I think this CC cream is a good choice for over 40 skin because it color corrects, glides over wrinkles, hydrates, and covers most imperfections.

I like Studio Gear CC Cream a lot. After I use up my other CCs, I will buy this one. I just love how it feels on my skin!

The full-size tube contains 1.1 fl. oz./33 mL, and I believe it’s priced at $34. It’s sold at Ulta and on studiogearcosmetics.com. I just noticed that readers of my blog can get a 10% discount on all Studio Gear Cosmetics purchases with the code: SGCC for purchases on their website. So check it out!
