Sephora Spring Beauty Insider Discount Event

OK, the Sephora Spring VIB Discount Event has already started for the VIB Rouge members and they know all about it. They can shop for 3 extra days all by themselves with their 15% discount. The VIB members sale starts on my birthday, April 16, also 15% off. I just got my notice and discount card in the mail today today. And finally, the sale starts for Beauty Insiders on April 17 with 10% off. The sale goes through April 21.

I am planning to buy myself a birthday gift at Sephora. At present, I’m thinking mostly foundation.

  • NARS Weightless Foundation: I find myself really loving the sample of NARS Weightless Foundation that I picked up at Sephora a week ago. It really is weightless, and it really provides medium to full coverage. Really 😉 Plus, it’s easily applied WITH YOUR FINGERS! It has quite a few shades that range from light to deep. The one closest to my shade isn’t an exact match, but I’m willing to go for it because I like the formula so much.
  • CoverFX Drops: Have you seen the revolutionary foundation-ish product, CoverFX Drops, yet? I have seen and read about it online, but my local Sephora didn’t have it in stock when I was there last week. I was disappointed because I really wanted to see the product and try it out before buying it. What is it, you ask? CoverFX Drops are foundation color drops that you add to a primer, moisturizer, sunscreen, another foundation, or anything that will cover your face. It turns that other thing into a tinted moisturizer or a foundation. It can be used to adjust the color of a foundation that you already own that isn’t a good match. I think this product sounds like a game-changer. I’m hoping if I can get a good match with the CoverFX Drops (I’m thinking shade P20), I can fix my MUFE Mat Velvet Foundation that I bought in July when I had a tan. I am thinking I can add CoverFX Drops to some amazing serums I’m trying out and turn them into a foundation type product. Don’t they sound like magic??
  • Supergoop Eyecream with SPF 37: Since summer will arrive one of these months, I need an eye cream with SPF. This product wasn’t available at my Sephora store during the winter. Not sure they’ll have it in the store even now.
  • Anything from Besame: I love the Besame, a vintage-y brand that looks like makeup from the 1930s-50s. Sephora just started selling Besame. Again, the Sephora near me only carries the Brightening Vanilla Powder that sounds lovely with its vanilla scent but I don’t need the yellow tint. I would like a lipstick or the Violet Powder, I think.

I am thinking I may have to go to the bigger Sephora at the Burlington Mall to get the products I want rather than the Sephora closest to me. I’m also hoping that I can use the discount card more than once during the sale days.

I recently saw on Nouveau Cheap’s fabulously informative blog that there’s a great deal sold only at the Sephora stores inside JC Penney: the Sephora Inside JC Penney Summer Obsessions Set, $39, that includes a red makeup bag with:

Plus, you can get 10-15% off the $39 based on your status. So for about $33, I could get all that, wow!

So what’s on your Sephora list?? Do tell. I’m wondering if I’m missing something I must have!

  1. I was just looking online at the CoverFX Drops yesterday. I was bummed by all the cones. I break out from a high amount. Looks like that is the case with this. I consoled myself with the thought that I mostly use powder foundation anyway. When I do use liquid I have added “stuff” to it so I kinda FX it in my own way. ha ha
I once tried a Besame lipstick and boy was it pigmented. I do not know if that is the case with all of them since I purchased it online and that was awhile ago. That Violet powder sounds like a nice choice. I have to agree their packaging is so retro. I like it too. So many Sephora choices but I let my husband know I want to get something.

    1. Laura, I haven’t even looked at the ingredient list. Lucky for me, silicones are a boon rather than a no-go. Which powder foundation do you use? I occasionally wear IT powder foundation (maybe Celebration?), but the shade even tho’ it’s Fair is a bit too yellow for me so I mostly use it to touch up or over sun damage. When I wear it on its own I have to wear it over silicone primer as it settles into my lines 🙁 I would love to get a Besame lipstick, but I remembered that I need Briogeo shampoo so something has to go 😉

    1. Brianna, my budget doesn’t let me either. I just remembered I needed to buy another Briogeo shampoo, so something on that list has gotta go, probably the Besame or maybe the JC Penney LE kit, boo hoo

    1. I try not to go too often, Krystal, because it is so hard for me to resist buying things, but I do like to take advantage of the infrequent discounts there. Definitely worth a look for Beauty Insiders and VIBs 🙂

  2. My Sephora cart is ridiculous right now. I have to trim my items down BIG TIME! HA! I am really, really curious about those Cover Drops. I have them in my cart as well. It’s so hard to figure out what to get and what I should pass on ha. I know I did have that Laura Mercier Artist Palette in my cart, but its already sold out! BUMMER!

  3. I’ve been lusting after Besame products too. I’m a Sephora VIB so thanks for the reminder to get my list ready for discount shopping!

  4. I’ve been curious about that Nars foundation I may have to get a sample now. And that makeup set sounds amazing and I hear there’s a skincare one as well! So many choices hehe.

    1. Absolutely, Leigh! thankfully, I don’t need more skincare other than the eyecream with SPF, so I won’t have to buy both of the LEs at JC Penney 😉

    1. Consider yourself lucky, Destany! If you go back again, you could catch the bug! Stay away or else you find yourself unable to keep from going back 😉

    1. I agree, Aleya! I went the week before last too to scope things out, and limited myself to one small purchase then. I’ve gotta pare down my list.

    1. Hannah, if I didn’t have that darn 15% off coupon and if Sephora didn’t have so few opportunities to buy at a discount, I wouldn’t be buying anything! I can’t control myself in the face of a sale!

    1. That’s such a great idea, Brigette! I wish people would give me Sephora gift cards, although I did win one at Christmas at a Yankee Swap but I spent it right away! Happy Birthday to you! Looking forward to hearing about your haul 🙂

  5. My list is long but I’ve cut a few things. What I want for sure is Cover FX drops, a brown liquid eyeliner from Stila or if they have the new Tarte one, Supergoop SPF, Sephora Contour Lash. Then there’s the maybe list of UD Concealer, Benefit Roller Lash, a new Surratt Lipslick plus plus plus. I do have one Sephora g.c. and a Visa g.c. so those will be spent.

    1. That’s a great list, Marcia! I would like the Benefit Roller Lash, but I keep hoping it will show up in a subscription box or somewhere else. Enjoy the event!

    1. That’s too bad, Nidia. If you spend that much, you should get a higher percentage off. I’m a regular VIB, and I hate to miss the few occasions when I can save a little $$$ at Sephora.

  6. Happy (early ) Birthday! I am so intrigued by the Cover FX cover drops. They sound like such a perfect alternative to typical foundation.
