Dermalactives Purifying Apple Cider Toning Mist came in one of my recent Ipsy boxes. Because I’m at the end of my usual daytime, gentle, calming toning mist from TonyMoly, The Chok Chok Green Tea Watery Skin, I decided to give Dermalactives a try.

Because it has been a while since I have used glycolic acid, Dermalactives Purifying Apple Cider Toning Mist took about a week or so for my skin to get used to the GA. Frankly, it was uncomfortable to use initially because it stung my skin. But once my skin adjusted to the glycolic acid, I’ve come to enjoy using it. During the heat and humidity of summer when my face is sometimes covered with dirt from my garden, perspiration, or sand from the beach, cleansing my skin and following up with Dermalactives Toning Mist is very refreshing. Plus it exfoliates dead skin cells. Using it at this time of year is like a “re-set” for my skin.
The Apple Cider Toning Mist can be used by all skin types including mature, dry, semi-sensitive skin like mine. I believe that it would be very helpful for oily, combination or acne-prone skin types.
Another thing that I love about the heavy glass spray bottle is the gentleness of the spray. It truly is a mist. I usually hate spraying anything on my face, but I have no issues with this product.
Dermalactives is free from parabens, sulfates, petrolatum, mineral oil, and artificial fragrances. To me, it is just about completely fragrance-free: it has a very faint fruity (apple-y) scent that disappears before the mist even dries.
Although Dermalactives is priced at $75 for the 2.5 fl. oz./75 ml on the Dermalactives official website or on Amazon, you can find it on Belk, the well-known, reputable Southeastern department stores and online retailer where it is regularly priced at $30 and on sale till July 5 for $24. If you feel comfortable shopping on Poshmark, Ebay or Mercari as well as Rue LaLa and eCosmetics, you can get it for even less. On the first 3 sites, those products most likely came from people who got them in their Ipsy boxes.
Ingredients: Glycerin, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice (Aloe Vera), Elastin, Hyaluronic Acid, Acetyl Hexapeptide-3, Sesamum Indicum (Sesame Oil), Chamomilla Recutita Flower Extract, Collagen, Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E), Retinyl Palmitate (Vitamin A), Carbomer, Sodium Hydroxide, Cetrimonium Chloride, Ethylhexylglycerin, Phenoxyethanol. If you are allergic to nuts, avoid this mist.
