I love the all of the fun, witty packaging from theBalm, and the Cindy Lou Manizer packaging is very cute especially since she’s a redhead.

The silky, fine-milled, peachy powder with a very pale warm coppery glow works well with my redhead coloring in spite of the fact that I have cool-toned skin.Cindy Lou Manizer is a multi-tasker, and there can be quite a bit of variety in how you use it — as a highlighter, blush, contour, or even as an eye shadow. I use it primarily as a contour (it suits me better than brown shades), blush or highlighter. I’m very happy with it!

The good size compact comes with a nice big mirror. You have to supply your own brush which is fine with me. I usually apply it with a slant contour brush or with a blush brush, depending on where I’m applying it.

The Luminizer comes in two other shades:

I believe there’s also a palette that contains smaller versions of all three shades.

Ingredients: Mica, Polymethylsilsesquioxane, Silica, Isoeicosane, Polyethylene, Boron Nitride, Polyisobutene, Ptfe, Synthetic Wax, Dimethicone. May Contain/Peut Contenir [+/- Titanium Dioxide (Ci 77891), Iron Oxides (Ci 77491), (Ci 77492), (Ci 77499), Tin Oxide, Carmine (Ci 75470)].

    1. You could use this to contour your cheeks or as a blush or as an eyeshadow. I think you’d have fun with it, Marie! thank you for entering and good luck 🙂

  1. I would use the Cindy Lou Manizer Highllighter to add some shimmer to my eyelids as well as some color to my cheeks! Thanks for an AWESOME giveaway! I’d love to win & experiment with this!

  2. I would like to win because I do not own a product like this. I would try it as you suggested – in different ways. Looks like fun!

  3. Hi! Well I have to admit that I have seen this brand and thought the packaging looked cute-you know like Teeny Bopper Cute…so I just kind of ruled it out as Trendy and something a 49 year old would look ridiculous in! After reading this blog and then doing a little more research realized the age old saying about not making assumptions and not judging a book by its cover still rings true! Now I can’t wait to try these products…shame on me for being so narrow minded!!

    1. Paula, I’m even older than you are, but I love witty packaging and product positioning – I think it comes from my years of working in advertising. theBalm is one of my favorite brands! I like the retro, silly concept they’ve got going. But I have also found that their products are high quality. I love their cream blush palette, How ‘Bout Them Apples?, that comes in a palette with each mini blush in a little apply shaped pan. Cindy Lou Manizer is a very pretty blush, highlighter, contour, or even eye shadow. I think you’d like it. Thank you for entering and good luck!!

    1. Shireen, I feel so guilty about that, but the cost of shipping to Canada is too expensive. It is often more or the same price as the item I’m shipping. Please feel free to join our $150 Sephora gift card giveaway that I posted on my blog on Saturday 🙂

    1. Marty, I haven’t tried Cindy Lou as eyeshadow myself, especially since I must own about 30 copper shadows, but that’s what it says right on the compact! It seems worth a try if you’re hankering for a coppery shadow and don’t own one, or if you’re traveling light!

  4. I was never very into highlighting products but I am ill and as I’m getting older my skin is becoming more dry and a bit dull so I’ve become a huge fan of lumizing products and this one is truly gorgeous! I think it would look great on my skin tone and make me look healthier and awake! And also, theBalm is awesome and I love their line!

    1. I used mine today, Kassie, to contour a bit under my cheekbones because regular contour or even bronzer just makes my face look dirty. Cindy Lou is just the perfect contour for me! And it does help add some light to my face, as you said. Thank you so much for subscribing, and for entering the giveaway. All the best to you!

    1. Larissa, I’m so sorry. I’ve found that it is so expensive doing international giveaways – the postage is often more than the cost of the product 🙁 theBalm is a very cool, retro, witty U.S. brand, one of my faves

  5. I’d wear this as a Blush topper and I’m totally in love with theBalm Mary-Lou so I’m sure this would be a great addition to my ever growing theBalm collection!

    1. It is a perfect blush topper, gives a great coppery glow. Cindy Lou would be happy to be back with Mary Lou in your collection, Maria 😉 Thank you for entering, and good luck!

  6. I have tried a few The Balm products (from Ipsy!) and I have loved every one! This looks great and I would love to try it!

  7. I would love this! This is such an awesome giveaway. I have a very minimal make up routine. I wear makeup everyday though. (:

      1. Oops, Ashley, as I wrote in the rules, if you won either of the last two giveaways, please pass on this one. Sorry, I just noticed it as I was wrapping up your Derma e Charcoal Mask 😉

  8. I would like to win this because my best friend who should be a professional makeup artist by now uses this and absolutely loves it! Her face is always glowing and she told me her secret is this! Needless to say I ran to the store without really knowing the price and ended up deciding to wait on the purchase, but I still very much would like to try this.

    1. Sticker shock, right? That’s why I haunt Hautelook. theBalm is featured every couple of months, and that’s where I picked this up at half price. I’m glad you entered, Carol. Good luck!

  9. I am a newbie in the makeup department. After reading your review and all the commented posted here, it makes me want to attempt at contouring and highlighting again. I would love to win this so that I can start practicing again. Thanks for the giveaway!

    1. It’s fun to try contouring and highlighting. But you can always use this multitasker as blush or blush topper or as an eyeshadow for a peachy, coppery look! Thanks for entering, Paol, and good luck 🙂

  10. You know, I haven’t tried any of the The Balm’s highlighters before. Everytime I see the palette out that has all of the shades I want to buy it but always convince myself that I don’t need it. lol

    1. I thought about buying that one too, but I knew Betty Lou would be too dark for me so I went with the one that I thought would work best with my light skin. I love it!

    1. It’s a very nice blush or you can use it on top of blush for a little glow. For me, it’s a great contour shade! I’d say it’s a better contour shade than highlighter for fair/light skin.

    1. Mary-Lou looks lovely too, but I haven’t tried it yet. I thought about the highlighter palette with all 3 shades, but I knew Betty Lou would be too dark for me so I decided to try Cindy Lou first. Love it!

    1. Mary-Lou looks so lovely too. I was considering buying the palette with the 3 shades, but I knew I wouldn’t use Betty Lou since it’s so dark so I thought Cindy Lou would suit me best.

    1. Mary Lou is a champagne highlighter. It’s very pretty, but Cindy Lou was more my redheaded jam! I think pale sisters like you can still wear highlighters, but as you know, it’s best to see them in person. Do you have theBalm in the UK? It’s a very cool brand.

    1. Cindy-Lou Manizer is so cute. I just love the packaging, as I do for most things from theBalm. Cindy-Lou is a lovely warm peachy pink that I think will suit a variety of skintones, and it is a pretty neat little multitasker, but I personally love it for contouring. Thanks for entering, Brigitte, and good luck 🙂

  11. I haven’t heard of the brand before. The packaging is very cute and the color is beautiful.

    1. theBalm is such a fabulous and fun brand, Michelle. Although I haven’t seen it at Nordstrom Rack, it is on sale at Hautelook several times a year. High quality but fun packaging. Glad you entered the giveaway and good luck 🙂

    1. It really is a lovely multitasking highlighter, and the packaging is so fun. You’d have fun with it. Thanks for entering and good luck 🙂

  12. I would use it to highlight my cheekbones, brow-bones, the bridge of my nose and my chin! I think it would help me look fabulous in my YouTube videos!! 🙂

  13. I received a little sample size of this from a monthly subscription box and for me it’s been perfect for my fair skin. I’ve used it for eyeshadow, blush, an all over glow, and sometimes a highlighter. I was so sad when I hit pan on it and now I only have a tiny bit of it left around the very edges of the pan, so I really really need this. Plus my name is Cindi so it’s named right after me anyway 🙂

  14. I would love to win because I think it would make my face look prettier with this awesome highlighter 🙂

  15. My cheeks need some color after that long winter. I’m sure I look like a pale ghost. I also love the vintage looking makeup that come in tins. So fun!

  16. I’ve never tried anything from theBalm but I hear their products are the bomb 😉
I’m a sucker for beautiful packaging- theBalm is no exception heh.
Cindy-Lou is such a pretty shade!

  17. I would like to win because I’ve heard great things about theBalm’s highlighters, but have never tried one before.

  18. I would like to win because I am just now starting to try to contour an this looks like a great product.

  19. I love the glow i get from luminizers. It makes me feel better about my skin in the winter.

    1. Always good to start somewhere, and Cindy Lou Manizer is a very pretty one to start with, Samantha. Thank you for entering and good luck!
