Friday Find: Diorskin Nude BB Creme SPF 10

Friday Find is when I dive into my stash or come up with a new product that I haven’t written about yet. Today, I decided to wear Diorskin Nude BB Creme SPF 10 in shade Fair that I hadn’t worn in a while. It was given to me about a year ago by my friend, Sybille, who found that the shade didn’t suit her.

My skintone is somewhere between Fair and Light in most brands, so I often have a tough time getting a perfect match in a BB or CC cream that doesn’t have a broad shade range. So I generally wear Diorskin Nude BB Creme in the winter when my skin is at its lightest. Right now it’s a good match. I didn’t rub it in completely so you could see the shade on my skin. In the summer, I could add CoverFX Custom Cover Drops to darken it a bit. Gotta remember that!

I love the foundations that I own. They’re lightweight and easy to apply and wear. But today my plan to go into Boston to have dinner with a friend arriving from Tampa didn’t work out. Weather in other parts of the country have greatly delayed her flights, and she gets in too late to get together. So I didn’t want to bother putting on primer and applying foundation. I opted for BB cream instead, and I decided to give Diorskin Nude BB Creme some love on this gloomy, wintry day where I was probably not going out much – its SPF level is modest at 10. I wanted to write about it because it’s a product worth knowing about.

Diorskin Nude BB Creme SPF 10 has a lightweight feel when I apply it and afterwards. I find that many BB or CC creams can be on the heavy side. It’s easy to apply with fingers. Today, I applied it with fingers and finished it off with my PUR blending sponge.

Dior describes it as “sheer coverage”, but I beg to differ. It feels very light, but I get such great coverage from Diorskin Nude BB Creme SPF 10 that I actually don’t need to put on any concealer most times. Now that’s rare!

Here’s how it’s described: “Enhanced with mineralized floral water and a blend of antioxidants the skin is moisturized, smoothed, protected and corrected with sheer coverage. Available in a range of shades to match every skin tone, the complexion is illuminated with a unique, fresh glow and dewy finish.”

Although I wish it had a higher SPF (perhaps that’s why it feels so lightweight compared to other BB/CCs), I really love the Diorskin Nude BB Creme. If you want to treat yourself, it’s worth considering. There are four shades: fair, light, medium, dark. The tube contains 1 oz., $45. It is available at Sephora, Nordstrom, Macys, Saks Fifth Avenue, and on the Dior website. Made in France.

    1. You’re right, Melissa! And I often wear a moisturizer with SPF during the day under my BB cream anyway so I wasn’t that worried about it. Plus it was a gift!!

    1. I have a Bobbi Brown foundation that I love, Shireen. I’ll bet the Intensive Serum is great. I was lucky to get this lovely BB cream from a friend ‘coz though I will pay $45 for a special foundation, I don’t usually spend that much on a BB cream

    1. Yes, it would be for sure. But I usually wear a moisturizer with SPF underneath during the day anyway, so I didn’t want to look a gift horse in the mouth 😉

    1. Thanks, Larissa! Even though you supposedly don’t need moisturizer with a BB cream, I often put it on anyway and my daytime moisturizer has SPF. So you’re right, it’s not that big of a deal. And it’s a good BB cream to wear in the evening like I did when I went out tonight!

    1. I like wearing it in the evening when SPF isn’t an issue, or I wear it over a moisturizer with SPF. It provides surprisingly good coverage. I haven’t needed a concealer when I wear it which is a nice break from usual!

    1. Definitely get a sample! It is very nice to wear at night because the SPF is low. I find the coverage is perfect for me even though it is described as “sheer” – on me, it’s not sheer at all and I don’t even need concealer. Worth getting a sample 🙂

    1. Cindy, I’m confused about this BB cream. The description says sheer, but it is not sheer on me. In fact, I don’t need concealer when I wear it. Go figure!

  1. When my sister freelanced for Dior she would often recommend this to me (and customers). I didn’t buy it because of my love for IT Cosmetics but I was always intrigued by it.

    1. It’s a lovely BB cream, Marcia, and I think Fair would suit your fair skin. The much lower SPF could be an issue for some, but I enjoy wearing it at night or over a moisturizer that has a higher SPF. Probably because of the lower SPF, I find it to be a less heavy feeling cream than the IT Cosmetics CC cream that’s still one of my faves.

  2. Sounds lovely! I love light feeling base products – I struggle to wear actual foundations because I’m so used to tinted moisurizers/bb creams right now.

    1. With the trend toward weightless foundations like NARS All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation, Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation, PUR Water Serum Hydrating Foundation etc., foundations feel much lighter than a lot of BB and CC creams, lol. But this is a very nice BB cream, and I am shocked at the coverage it gives me!

    1. It isn’t a tinted moisturizer, in fact, which surprised me. I get full coverage from it and don’t need concealer. Go figure! In person, it seems more neutral than actually pink, but finally something that I can wear that isn’t yellow, lol

    1. I do the same. But lately I’ve been wearing this everyday for the past week. Diorskin Nude is a very nice BB cream. It’s definitely worth a look.

  3. I would have thought with a product at that price point that it would have more SPF so you wouldn’t have to layer on more. I use an additional spf anywhere… but still, if you have to have so much… ya know. I think overall it sounds really nice thought.

    1. I’m wondering why they bothered with an SPF 10. It doesn’t make sense to me. SPF 15 is considered the minimum, so they should have just left it out. But whatever, I got this as a gift so I’m not complaining too much because it’s a lovely BB cream and a great match for me. I mostly wear it at night, or over moisturizer with SPF.

    1. I would definitely consider this a medium almost full coverage BB creme. I don’t know why they describe it as light. It’s anything but sheer. But it is lightweight which is a read plus. I need to look into Airflash!

  4. Oh this is so interesting, I would have never have thought of Dior for BB cream. I just always think lower end for it. It looks like a great formula but I agree it should have a higher spf

    1. Really? I have a bunch of prestige brand BB creams. I really like the DiorSkin Nude BB Creme, but I am flummoxed by the SPF 10. Why not make it at least SPF 15 that I consider the minimum, or skip it entirely? I guess I’ll never know
