I have a definite soft spot for all-in-one palettes.

So when I received the Love Your Selfie 2 complete palette from PUR Cosmetics introduced following the success of last year’s original Love Your Selfie, I was psyched! Look how gorgeous even the packaging is!

It’s a perfect, easy to reach for palette with almost everything I need to create a fall look that’s “selfie ready”. In fact, they even sent along a selfie ring! except I have no idea what to do with it. (If you do, please let me know ;))

Let’s take a look and see what’s included in this beautiful box.

First, it’s a fine travel-friendly kit. It measures 5″ x 6.5″, and is easy to pop into a suitcase or even a tote bag.

Inside the PUR Love Your Selfie 2 palette, there are:

  • 8 powder eyeshadows
  • 3 face products: highlighter, blush, contour and the contour can be used as brow powder
  • a travel size PUR Fully Charged Mascara
  • PUR Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Focal Point
  • PUR Lipgloss in Silhouette

The eyeshadows in the pans look like they’re going to be cool tones and some are, but several of them are metallics that give off a warm glow. As a result, I think anyone – warm or cool-toned – can wear this palette. The shades are perfect for fall and because of the metallic sheen, they’ll be perfect for the holiday season as well. Let’s take a closer look:

  • Headshot: the palest peach matte that’s perfect for the inner corner or under the brow bone though sometimes I like to use it on my lids for a wide awake look
  • Statuesque: this peach satin shade is just about exactly my skin tone and it doesn’t show up on me, but as a result, it’s a perfect base shade
  • Panorama: a stunning copper metallic
  • Abstract: a beautiful bronze metallic
  • Pose: just slightly deeper than Headshot, this light peach matte is also great for the inner corner, under the brow bone
  • Sketch: a deep rose gold metallic
  • Megapixel: fabulous gold metallic that’s not too yellow
  • Paparazzi: charcoal gray with shimmery gold flecks – just plain amazing!

My swatches were taken in bright early autumn sunlight WITHOUT primer, so I think my swatches look a bit lighter than reality because of the strong light and lack of primer. Sorry about that. You really need to see these shades to appreciate their beauty because the pigmentation really is great but not overpowering. I think this is a perfect palette for women over 40 because you get glamorous but completely wearable shades.

The shadows and cheek colors are smooth and buttery. I don’t get any dustup when I use them. I do apply them over primer, and they definitely stay put without fading till I take them off.  Their nourishing feel is due to free radical-fighting antioxidant Vitamin E  that moisturizes, heals and protects the skin from the environment – a very nice addition to the formula.

I love the range and variety of shades that allow me to create soft daytime looks and deeper, more arresting nighttime looks. If you’re a fan of smokey eyes, Paparazzi is just the thing.

The lip pencil and gloss are beautiful raisin shades. Love ’em both, and they work so well together.

I had a full size tube of PUR Fully Charged Mascara that I reviewed last March (here), and it’s a nice volumizing formula with a medium size bristled wand.

  1. Hey! Loved the palette and the colors too. I would like to use these colors as they will match my skin tone properly. These colors are unique for me as I does not have such type of color collection.

  2. Don’t feel bad, I had to google what on earth a “selfie ring” was too. Apparently it’s a light that clips onto your phone for all those times you need to take selfies in the middle of the night with no proper light bulbs. Like when your husband complains that you won’t turn the lights off. Or you’re in a cave. Or trapped in the subway. Or hiding in the broom closet of your office because you just realised that you hadn’t documented your daily hairdo or lipstick pick and you don’t want your coworkers to see you taking photos of yourself at your desk…..
    Or something like that. 😉

    1. Rach, thanks for the big laugh this morning! A number of my blogger friends have light rings, but they are quite different. I don’t see where the light source is on this one, but when I get back home I’ll look! It has a clip and I had wondered whether you clip your phone into it as you said, or if you clip the ring onto something! Since my house is like a cave because it’s so dark in winter, I better explore this thing further and see if there’s a light and how to turn it on coz it could be useful!

  3. Looks like a lovely palette Allison. I’m so happy to be back online after dealing with some health issues and look forward to catching up on all your posts. This is such a wonderful time of year for full face palettes, once I get my son and family all done for the holidays I’ll have to decide which one I’m getting. The comment from Rach has me loling!!! I had no idea what the ring was for either. Just an aside,I’m going with glossybox so if you have a link that is beneficial for you please let me know, thanks for the post where you mentioned it,I was glad so many agreed and meant to say thank you but that was right when I fell ill. Glad to be back,I’ve got a lot of catching up to do,what fun! 🙂

    1. Laura, I was honestly worried about you. I noticed that you disappeared for a few weeks. I was hoping that you went on vacation or were just very busy. I am so sorry to hear that you were ill. Very happy to hear that you’re doing better now!!

Thanks for giving me a head’s up about your Glossybox decision. I definitely think it’s preferable to Birchbox. May I check with the folks at Glossybox and ask them if there’s an affiliate link and get back to you? I’m not home right now, but I’ll try to send them an email this afternoon about it.

So glad you’re back! Hope you feel well and can stay healthy!

    1. Yes, Shireen, but I can’t figure out how to turn the light on the ring or if there even is a light! It could come in handy in my bat cave of a house this winter! And it is such a pretty palette ?

    1. I have to figure out how to use this selfie ring, Kat. I couldn’t figure out how to use it, and if it had a light in it so I put it somewhere and now I can’t remember where. I could really use a portable light now that it’s so much darker inside my house!

    1. Oh, I’m so glad you’ve discovered it, Taylor! You’re absolutely right about the metallic shimmer shadows – they are buttery and they really glow. Perfection!

  4. This is a beauty. There’s only one shade that I might not be able to wear but all the rest would work. The mascara is my favorite one from PUR.

    1. That’s so interesting! The peaches are not golden on me – they’re almost white. And the rest, including the metallics don’t read warm against my blue veins, lol. On me, everything has a slightly grey cast.

    1. Thank you, Laura! You know me, for sure. The lip shades are definitely the ones I favor most often. How are you doing? You’ve been on my mind for several weeks. Though I have your email address, I didn’t want to bother you if you were not doing well.

    1. Hi Allison ! I am 7 weeks post-op now. The double hernia and partial bowel obstruction surgery I had less than a year ago when I suffered through 2 months of staph afterwards was a failure. My small intestine, part of my large and colon broke through and was bulging underneath my skin like a football. I had to have emergency surgery. It was 6 hours long. I now have a 12 inch vertical incision instead of the 6 inch one I did have. (No bikinis in my future. lol) I have done absolutely nothing since. I am too afraid to hurt myself. Despite not doing anything I have been enduring the worst back pain. It starts on the sides of my incision and then goes around the side of me to my back. My mother bought me a TENS unit. As long as I keep that on me along with a heating pad I feel ok. lol I am impatient to get better but Brian keeps reminding me that I am still healing. I definitely do not want to go through that again. 😉 I hope that you have been happy and well Allison!!

      1. Oh, Laura, I have been so concerned about you. You had mentioned that you had to have another surgery, but I’m so upset to learn that it was emergency surgery this last time. I hope the pain around the incision and the back pain leave you soon. I’m glad the TENS unit helped – I just looked it up to see what it is. I can only imagine how difficult it is to be patient about the healing process because you’ve had to do it so much over the past few years. I hope you turn the corner soon, and have good results from this surgery. Get well as soon as you can. So happy to hear from you, Laura xoxoxoxo
