Wet N Wild Spring Season Splurge

Wet N Wild Perfect Pout Lip Gloss Palette, neversaydiebeauty.com

I don’t know why I seldom shopped Wet N Wild. Their makeup is affordable and cruelty-free. I think I thought it was too young for me. But speaking of too young, a limited edition lip gloss palette with heart-shaped pans caught my eye, and though it looks like it was created for 10 year olds, I had to have it. Thus, my Wet N Wild mini-haul!

From Heart To Finish Perfect Pout Lip Gloss Palette

So isn’t this palette the cutest? I think it is.

But what is it like to actually use it? I don’t often use the brushes that come with palettes, but this one is really fine for the task at hand, and it’s convenient to use it. The bristles are soft, not plastic-y, and it applies the gloss with enough precision.

Each tiny pan contains enough gloss for two usage occasions. So far, I’ve tried three of the shades, and they provide good translucent to full color. Since it’s a palette, it’s easy to customize the color to create your own combos, but I haven’t felt the need to do that since there are enough choices. The glosses are unscented. I don’t recall my hair sticking to my lips when I went outdoors.

This adorable palette is more of a novelty than anything else. I wouldn’t bother carrying it with me to reapply (though it’s small enough that I could) because there’s so little gloss in each pan. But Wet N Wild Perfect Pout Lip Gloss Palette is just fun to own and use from time to time.

At $5.99, the price for 16 small pans seems about right to me. I bought mine online because all of the limited edition displays I’ve seen in stores were sold out of this sweet palette.

Megaglo Makeup Stick Highlight

I love stick highlighters because I think they’re so much easier to apply. Plus you know I love cream everything.

When I ordered this, I thought there was a choice in shades but maybe I was confusing it with their blush stick. The case of this highlighter is pale pink, and I assumed the shade of the stick would be pale pink. It’s not, it’s a champagne color: When The Nude Strikes. Still, it is a pretty shade that I don’t already own several of, and I’m happy with it.

It’s very blendable, and it has a cream-to-powder formula.

1 Step Wonder Gel Nail Color

Gel polish without the need for a UV curing lamp is all the rage, and now Wet N Wild has introduced theirs. But it has won an Allure Best of Beauty award for 2016.

The description says that in addition to not needing to be cured with a lamp, it also doesn’t need a topcoat. How convenient! They also say it can last up to 2 weeks. Hmmm. Nothing except for a salon gel lasts that long on me. If I get a few days without chipping, I’ll be satisfied.

Wet N Wild 1 Step WonderGel Nail Color comes in 27 shades. I chose Peri-wink-le Of An Eye, #729A. It’s a very pretty periwinkle that’s great for spring. I’m wearing it now. I applied it on bare nails since it said it is a 1 Step Wonder. It was opaque in two coats. I like the wide, slightly tapered brush that made for easier application. It dried fairly quickly, in less than 5 minutes.

So that’s what I bought from Wet N Wild. I’m not sure if they had free shipping or if I had to spend a certain amount to get free shipping. I’m enjoying my WNW purchases! Have you tried any of these?

BTW, if you’re in the mood for a little retail therapy this holiday weekend, PUR Cosmetics is having a 20% off sale! I have so many favorite palettes from that brand that I adore, plus they have beautiful compacts, the silkiest faux lashes as well as great mascara. In fact, I’m considering picking up one of the new Vanity Eye & Cheeks Palettes that I’ve seen reviewed this week. Take a look if you have time!

  1. I really like the nail polish and it lasted a long time on me when I first tried it. I personally found that the more I used it, the shorter and shorter time frame it lasted on me, weird. I really like the looks of that highlighter but honestly I don’t need another anytime soon. I recently bought Marc Jacobs Glistening Stick and more recently the new Marc Jacobs Dew Drops Coconut highlighter so I think I am good for a long while. LOL!

    1. I’m glad to hear that you have had generally good luck with the WNW 1 Step WonderGel polish. I’m only on day 2 so I can’t say yet. So weird that over time, the wear has gotten less. Maybe some chemical in the formula is dissipating in the bottle?? I’ll keep an eye on that. I love the shade I got. I hear you about the overabundance of highlighters. I have about a million, and highlighter is not something I wear everyday. But they’re so hard to resist! I’ll bet yours from MJ are stunning. Have a great holiday weekend, Shireen xoxo

    1. Judy, there was no reason to buy the WnW lipgloss palette other than the cuteness factor! I just love everything heart-shaped. The quality, meh! But the highlighter and the 1 Step WonderGel Nail Color are both worth it

  2. I’ve had hit and miss success with WNW,I really like the nail polish you got.Definitely something I’ll look into as I’m searching for new spring polishes.I always end up with an OPI light orange and would like to expand to other spring time colors, the periwinkle is something I would love. Not enough people review WNW so thank you. 🙂

    1. Thank you, Laura 🙂 So far so good with the 1 Step WonderGel. I just got in from doing two hours of yard work (wearing gloves) and no chips! But today is only day 3. The color is really pretty, and I think I didn’t pay $4.99 even for it. Well worth trying and so is the highlighter if for some reason you need another champagne shade. The lipgloss was just because it was hearts. 😉 Happy Easter, Laura!

  3. You know I never walk away from hearts. It’s funny that you only get 2 uses from each but maybe they show you their permanent colors this way.

    1. I had forgotten that you were a heart lover too, Marcia! Yes, I was thinking the same thing, but I’m embarrassed to admit that I was too lazy to check 😉
