Aveda Smooth Infusion Style Prep Smoother & Haircare Giveaway!

Aveda Smooth Illusion Style-Prep & Phomollient Styling Foam haircare products, neversaydiebeauty.com

Aveda, the natural, cruelty-free and environmentally friendly haircare and skincare brand, has been sending me all sorts of fabulous products lately: not only hair care but skincare too.

Their wonderful Tulasara Wedding Eye Masque (reviewed here) has become my go-to eye cream of late, and I’m “saving” the wonderful Overnight Wedding Masque for the cold weather when I need a hydration boost.

I’ve been trying to incorporate the new haircare products they sent into my routine where I can. But as you probably know, haircare products are often designed for a specific type of hair, and my thick, coarse, color-treated hair doesn’t always mesh with the products I receive. Since Aveda products are so well-crafted and made from such great ingredients, I don’t want the ones that I can’t use to go to waste, so I am going to give them away to readers of Never Say Die Beauty.

Today, I’d like to tell you about one of the Aveda products that I definitely can use as well as another styling product for fine/medium hair that I can’t use.

Aveda Smooth Infusion Style-Prep Smoother

Aveda Smooth Infusion Style-Prep Smoother hair product, neversaydiebeauty.com

Excessive volume and frizz, especially during high humidity days, are key problems that I have with my thick, coarse hair. I know those of you with fine hair will think I’m silly for complaining about too much volume, but there you have it.

Aveda Smooth Infusion Style-Prep Smoother says on the front of the bottle that the product “defends against humidity for up to 12 hours”. I guess for those who wash their hair everyday or frequently, 12 hours might be enough – it would get you through the work day and dinner, I guess. But I didn’t find that promise all that reassuring since I wash and style my hair every 4 days (sometimes a little more often during the summer). Nevertheless, I wanted to try it and see for myself.

I’ve used Smooth Infusion several times now. First I wash my hair with whichever of the many shampoos and conditioners I have, and then I use the 12-in-1 Serum that I always use afterwards that provides heat protection from my blowdryer and flat iron. The final step is Aveda Smooth Infusion. Pump a little of the thickish white gel-cream into my hands and work it through my hair. I have so much hair that I use about 2 good sized pumps. At first I was concerned that it might be too heavy for my hair and leave it weighed down or not feeling clean. Wrong. It disappeared and didn’t negatively affect how my hair looked or felt. In fact, it left it feeling silky, soft and smooth.hair after using Aveda Smooth Infusion Style-Prep. neversaydiebeauty.com

Aveda Smooth Infusion definitely works for me to keep my hair looking smooth with no frizz or excessive volume even in humid weather. In fact, even after jogging, it still looks good. I’m impressed because it has worked way beyond the promised 12 hours. I find that it lasts until the next time I wash my hair. It provides an added anti-frizz/anti-excessive volume barrier that goes beyond what I was getting just using the 12-in-1 serum. It’s made from plant ingredients including organic aloe, maize and guar bean that coat and smooth the hair shafts without weighing them down. For summer, this extra step is so well worth it for me. Plus I discovered that Smooth Infusion Style-Prep also provides heat protection which is great because I pretty much fry my hair trying to straighten and smooth it with heat.

Smooth Infusion Style-Prep has the familiar Aveda “pur-fume aroma”, an herbal scent from australian sandalwood, certified organic bergamot, palmarosa and other pure flower and plant essences. To be honest, it isn’t a strong scent. In fact, I never really noticed it.

Aveda Smooth Infusion Style-Prep contains 3.4 fl. oz./100 ml (you can travel with it because it meets TSA standards) and is priced at $25. In keeping with Aveda’s environmental mission, the bottle is made from 100% post-consumer PET and is recyclable. Get more info on the Aveda website!

I discovered that Aveda makes an entire Smooth Infusion product line with shampoo, conditioner and other styling products. In fact, there’s a Smooth Infusion travel set. With my thick, coarse hair, I need to discover more of the Smooth Infusion line, lol!

Aveda Phomollient Styling Foam Giveaway!

The Aveda haircare product that I’m giving away this time is Phomollient Styling Foam for Fine or Medium Hair. It adds shine and weightless volume to fine or medium hair. Because I have such thick hair, I don’t need more volume – I’m trying to get less volume, lol. So that’s why I’m giving away this brand new, unused bottle of Phomollient Styling Foam to one lucky NSDB reader!

Aveda Phomollient Styling Foam, neversaydiebeauty.com

Phomollient Styling Foam for Fine or Medium Hair helps you make the most of the hair that you have by adding shine and weightless body and volume. The website says it provides “light to medium hold” so no helmet-hair here. It too has “pur-fume aroma” but it’s a different scent from my Smooth Infusion. Phomollient’s scent is made with certified organic peppermint, ylang ylang, bergamot and other pure flower and plant essences. I haven’t smelled it and I don’t know if the scent is lasting or not, but it sounds very nice.

The container uses air-infused technology that transforms a liquid into a foam without hydrocarbon propellants – an environmentally-friendly solution that you’d expect from Aveda! The bottle of Phomollient Styling Foam contains 6.7 fl. oz./200 ml, and it looks and feels like a lot of styling foam is in there. $21

Ingredients: Aqueous (WaterAquaEau) ExtractsExtraits Aqueux:Arctium Lappa (Burdock) Root Extract, Althaea Officinalis (Marshmallow) Root Extract , Polysorbate 20 , Glycerin , Polyquaternium-11 , Polyquaternium-10 , HoneyMelMiel , Oryzanol , Tocopherol , Glycine Soja (Soybean) Oil , Fragrance (Parfum) , Geraniol , Linalool , Farnesol , Benzyl Benzoate , Amyl Cinnamal , Benzyl Salicylate , Citronellol , Eugenol , Limonene , Citric Acid , Sodium Gluconate , Potassium Sorbate , Phenoxyethanol <ILN37994>

  1. I would like to win the Aveda Phomollient Styling Foam because I have fine hair and I would like to add volume.

  2. My fine thin hair needs all the help it can get. I’ve tried many products but not this Aveda one. It may be what I am looking for!

    1. Although I didn’t try this one, the Smooth Infusion Style-Prep did what it said and more for my thick, coarse hair. Hopefully, Phomollient will work for your fine hair. Thank you for entering and good luck!

  3. my hair is very thin and just lays there for any volumne I have to tease but that only last a limited amount of time….. I need volumne in my old hair

  4. This sounds like a really fun product! My hair is more medium and definitely lacking in the volume lately without some serious heat styling, something I prefer to avoid over the summer!

  5. First I love every Aveda product I have tried. I love how they smell and how they leave my hair. And I need the volume for my lifeless hair m
I love your hair. The Aveda product really made a difference and your hair looks so silky.

    1. My coarse hair feels silky for days after using the Smooth Infusion Style-Prep, so I hope you’d have great results with Phomollient, Christy. Thank you for entering!

  6. Morning…….🙋🏻☕️☕️🍩🍩………I could really use some smoothing products it’s been so humid here in California, not good for my naturally curly hair!😱 Right now I am using Nick Chavez Velvet Mesquite Hair Serum. LOVE IT! 😍 You can also use it on you body including your face. It’s AMAZING.

    1. Sounds like a great multitasker, DiEtta! You are so lucky to have naturally curly hair. Mine requires blow drying and flat ironing, and that gets to be a pain – one of the reasons I try to go for 3-5 days before washing, but today’s the day. Going to head out and go jogging first. Hope you have a lovely Cali day!

  7. This sounds pretty amazing. I used Aveda years ago and always enjoyed it. I was practically addicted to one of their shampoos that had an almond scent and was sad to see it go. They had a great makeup line too.

    1. I had used Aveda’s shampoo that had a cherry almond scent, I think, in the past. I need to see if they still make that one. If you liked the almond scent, it must have been fabulous 😉

    1. All the Aveda products that are designed for my type of hair have been wonderful, so I hope that Phomollient would be terrific as well. Glad you entered, Debbie! good luck 🙂

  8. I didn’t know this brand before. Until really recently, I was not taking much care of my hair. But I dyed them so I am aware they might be more fragile! Your hair look great. the product might be super useful to me! xx corinne

    1. I used the Smooth Infusion Style-Prep on my super thick, coarse hair, but if your hair is fine to medium, I’ll bet the Phomollient Styling foam would work well. Hope you entered, Corinne!

  9. I can always use more volume in my hair. I have used Aveda shampoo and was really impressed. They have a great product line.

  10. Oh, this would be fabulous to try! My hair is really frizzy so I always have to flat iron it. After I do that, it’s always so flat and limp. I’d love to try this to see if it gave my hair some life and hold up in this Georgia heat!

    1. Hmmm, so do you have fine to medium hair, Jennifer? I also have hair that gets huge and somewhat frizzy in the humidity so I must flat iron it. Afterwards, it is smooth and much flatter than it was and for me, that’s a good thing. But I know completely flat hair isn’t great either! Hopefully, the Phomollient styling foam would help. I’m wondering if you should try the Aveda Smooth Infusion Style-Prep?? If you are near an Aveda salon/store, go in and ask for a sample!! Thanks for entering the giveaway 🙂

  11. These products could be great solutions for my haircare regime! We are so busy I don’t really get a chance to take care of my hair.

    1. Oh, so sorry Suruchi! I wish I could afford to ship internationally but I hope you understand. Aveda makes such great haircare products!

    1. I hope you entered, Eloise! Though I haven’t tried Phomollient since my hair is so thick, Smooth Infusion is terrific and I know Phomollient will be too. Good luck!

  12. I’d like to win the Aveda Phomollient Styling Foam for Fine/Medium Hair because as I get older, my hair gets finer. I’d love to add some volume to it.
    Thank you!

  13. This sounds exactly what I need for my hair!! Thank you so much for sharing!! Your skin looks gorgeous!!

  14. Good Morning Allison! Not sure how I missed this giveaway but really would love to win this product. My hair is very fine and needs volume.

    1. I am so glad you entered, Sandy! In fact, I thought you already had entered so I went back and looked, and I didn’t see your name before today. Though I haven’t used this one, the Aveda Smooth Infusion is terrific so I hope Phomollient will be wonderful for those with fine hair like you. Good luck xoxo

  15. I have used Aveda products before and I know they never disappoint! My hair has thinned out a lot since having my daughter over a year ago and it takes a great deal of styling to get the volume I want. I would really love to win this.Thank you for this giveaway!

  16. I have fine hair and would love to try this! I’m also a huge fan of Aveda’s plant based products.

    1. Since you’re already an Aveda fan, you know how terrific their haircare products can be. Glad you entered the giveaway, Fran. Good luck!

  17. I would like to know how this smells like! Peppermint, ylang ylang, bergamot and other flowers and plants – sounds heavenly!

    1. I’m curious about the scent, too, Anne. It does sound like a lovely natural combination! Thanks for entering the giveaway, and good luck 🙂

  18. I used to use this a lot when my hair was shorter than didn’t have the money to continue – but now my hair is short again I would LOVE it. AMAZING product!

  19. I have wavy hair that becomes frizzy in the summer, and occasionally lacks volume! I’d like to try Aveda products because I need to find a new hair care line that works for me.

    1. Grace, I’m not sure that Phomollient, the giveaway styling product for fine-medium hair, will help combat frizz as effectively as the Smooth Infusion product line, but it’s worth a try if you win! I think it’s more of a volumizer, another benefit you said you’re looking for. Thanks for entering and good luck!

  20. I have thinning hair from thyroid problems so I would love to try this and see how it can help my hair look great!
