Beauty Empties July 2017

empty beauty products for July 2017

After several months where I got to recycle a ton of empties, in July I didn’t have as many empties as I usually do. But I had enough that I didn’t want to wait till next month. I’ll make this one quick!

empty beauty products for July 2017

  • LDC Cosmetics: Advanced Plumping Hand Cream: Although this was a nice lightweight greaseless hand cream, unfortunately it didn’t help plump the skin on my hands as promised. And it is expensive. Repurchase? No.

  • Nature Island Botanicals Blood & Sweet Orange etc. Vegan Cold Process Soap: The handmade orange and hot pink marbled fabulous smelling, hydrating soap is my favorite. I cut it in half and get two big bars out of it. Repurchase? Yes. I’m hoping that Daphne of NIB still makes this beauty. I’ll find out when she comes to the Waterfront Festival in Gloucester MA later this month.

  • Davnies Love Shampoo: I got this travel size Davines Love Shampoo that smooths coarse or frizzy hair from one of my monthly subscriptions, probably from Birchbox. The scent was fabulous, and it did a great job shampooing my hair and leaving it smoother. Repurchase? Probably not because I am swimming in shampoo and conditioner, but it’s a good one that I definitely would buy if I needed more shampoo.

  • Urban Decay Anti-aging Primer Potion: I was disappointed that UD changed my favorite eye primer by adding an unnecessary sponge applicator wand. I also think they changed the formula a bit. Repurchase? No. But luckily, my friend Marcia gifted me a travel size tube of the old version that she found in her stash when she moved recently. Yay!

  • Natural sea sponge: I love natural sea sponges because they can be so gentle on my skin. I’ve been using them for a long time. Repurchase? The sponge came in a two pack, and I’m using the second one now. Unfortunately, it’s not quite as soft as the one I’m tossing, but hopefully, it’ll soften with use.

So these are what I used up this past month. What about you?

    1. The sponge tip applicator in the two tubes I got were so useless in terms of spreading the primer evenly that I had to go over it with my finger anyway. Maybe it’s just me 😉

      1. Oh I just use it to apply two swipes to each eye and then I use a small fluffy concealer brush to spread it evenly. I just prefer to NOT use my finger b/c it gets everywhere – all in my lashes and brows – I guess I have big fingers! 😀

  1. I’m glad I was able to help. When I saw it I knew that you’d love it. I did empty a few things but some seem to be lasting forever. I’m down to my last Bioderma Micellar Water plus I finished 2 mascaras – one just today.

    1. I was so grateful to receive the UD AA original eye primer xoxo

Mazel tov! Finishing mascara is an accomplishment. I think I may have a travel size version of BioDerma Hydrabio waiting in the wings, but I’m quickly going through my larger size now. In the summer, I love MW even more. What great stuff!

  2. I had a tube of the UDPP that lasted me almost 2 years of near daily use. I got it right before they changed their formula! I probably won’t repurchase now that I know they have a weird sponge tip applicator.

    1. The sponge applicator is awful. Even Jen M. said she uses it to put a little on her lid and then uses a separate brush to smooth it on. Why have an applicator if it isn’t useful!! I’m going back to Milani eye primer after I finish up the tube of the old version that Marcia gave me

    1. I do empties posts coz it gives me a feeling of accomplishment, and also I enjoy reading the mini-reviews from other bloggers who have similar skin types and coloring to mine to find out what they love and what they won’t repurchase.

  3. I didn’t finish a lot, you are pretty good in keeping up with your empties! Btw, I love the NARS liquid blush you reviewed not too long ago. THe cap tho is a struggle, I wonder why they hid the dispenser like that

    1. Glad that you like the NARS Liquid Blush in spite of the struggle with the cap (I have the same problem sometimes). I didn’t bother reading the product materials and I didn’t realize there was a pump dispenser. Thank goodness for Marcia!!

  4. oh how weird for UDPP to be changed. it’s been a standard product for people for…well at least a decade. Why change it if it was efficient the way it was?

    1. I don’t understand why they changed it. The formula seems slightly different but it’s still a good one. It’s the useless sponge tip applicator that really throws me. It just doesn’t work!

    1. The Antiaging Primer Potion was a classic, but I think they changed the formula slightly and then added that useless sponge-tip applicator. Wish they had left well enough alone, lol!
