essence Coverstick Concealer

A couple of weeks ago at Ulta, I picked up another bargain, essence Coverstick concealer.

Down at the bottom of the essence display, I spied testers with three tubes representing three shades of concealer. The lightest shade, 01 Matt Sand, was a perfect match for me.

I tried the tester, and I was happy to find a new full coverage concealer. I was even happier to see the $2.49 price.

The concealer provides great, matte coverage for my sun damage. I apply moisturizer and either BB cream or lightweight foundation, and blend essence Coverstick on my sun spots. It blends in easily. I find that I need to dab it on again on my darkest spots after 4 or 5 hours. But hey I have to do that with my Stila concealer, and I paid more than $20 for that. So, I’m totally satisfied.

It is a thick, creamy concealer, and works well on discolorations. Here it is on my hand without any foundation. It works even better on my face, but you get the idea 😉 I imagine it would be a good blemish concealer as well. I have not tried it under eye because I prefer “a liquid in a tube with a wand” concealer for that purpose. For me, any stick concealer is a little too heavy for that purpose.

Coverstick’s two other shades are 04 True Nude and 05 Matt Beige, shades that seem appropriate for medium skintones.

The package says it contains allantoin to calm the skin. The Ulta website says that the product is dermatologically tested, and it is not tested on animals. essence products are available at Ulta, Fred Meyer, HEB, and select Walgreen’s. $2.49 for 0.16 oz/5 g. Made in Germany.
