Revlon Kiss Balm, Sweet Cherry: Lip Balm with Sunscreen

I had a bunch of CVS ExtraBucks that I needed to use, so I made the trip to CVS. I ended up accumulating about $32 worth of stuff, and in the end, it cost me $7 and change. Not bad. Not bad at all. That purchase included two tubes of Sensodyne Pronamel toothpaste and 10 plastic hangers.

But I needed to come home with something from the beauty aisle, too. Because there was a $3 off coupon from Revlon, I ended up trying their new (I think) Revlon Kiss Lip Balm. The balms were a “special value”, and they come two to a package. Three of the four flavor options are mix and match shades (sheer, peach, strawberry, cherry), but I chose the two Sweet Cherry balms because I was looking for more color. Through the transparent packaging, the Sweet Cherry balms looked very red, so I hoped for the best.

I was a fan of essence Kiss Kiss lip balms, but I’m almost finished with my last one and they discontinued the product. So I was hoping that Revlon Kiss Balm might be a replacement.

As you can see, Revlon Kiss Balm is a fat crayon-style balm. Because of the crayon-style, I erroneously thought it would have a lot of color like Jordana Balms, some of the Clinique Chubby Sticks, Tarte sticks etc. Well, not so much.

The Sweet Cherry Revlon Kiss Balm, the darkest of the choices, has some color, and on my lips it’s a MLBB shade. It slightly intensifies my own lip color, and that’s not a bad thing. I have a ton of lipsticks that give me real color, so this really is a hydrating lip balm with a little color.

Sweet Cherry has a faint sweet cherry smell and sweet taste that disappear quickly.

On application, the balm itself feels rather slippery, like it’s made of solidified oils that melt on contact with my lips. It is hydrating. I can wear it as moisturizing protection under a liquid matte lipstick.

Another reason why I bought Revlon Kiss Balm is that it has SPF 20 UVA/UVB, and lip balms with sunscreen are under-represented in my stash. FYI, the sunscreen ingredients are chemical sunscreens.

Revlon Kiss Balm comes in 6 flavors:

  • Tropical Coconut
  • Juicy Peach
  • Fresh Strawberry
  • Sweet Cherry
  • Crisp Apple
  • Berry Burst.

The regular price of this two pack at CVS, where everything is more expensive, is $8.49, so $4.25 per tube. Not too bad. Definitely worth it with the $3 off coupon. But probably more affordable at Walmart. It also is sold singly for $3.99-4.99.

While not a must-have, I didn’t have any colored lip balms with sunscreen. Wish I had bought it earlier in the summer season!

  1. 🙋🏻 I just bought Revlon’s Colorstay Overtime it’s a lip gloss stain with a clear gloss on the other end. I bought the color Rouge. I really like it. Not sticky or drying. It really stays on a long time too. I got mine at Walgreens on Senior Discount day. (Second Tuesday of each month) great deals for seniors. That’s when I buy my beauty products that I need. Other things too! 😱 Have a nice day. 💐🍷🍫

    1. I just looked it up, DiEtta, and I couldn’t find Rouge among the choices on their website, but I say a shade that would look good on me, Relentless Currant. I would love to try this. It goes on my list for the next time I have some CVS Extrabucks! Thank you for bringing it to my attention. Have a great weekend xo

  2. Allison the color is: Bare Maximum. I found it on the end of the tube. It was printed in white so I couldn’t see it very well. 👀👓

    1. Thank you, DiEtta, for looking for the name of the shade and sending the photo! That’s a beautiful shade that I could also wear, especially for everyday. It has the right amount of neutral mixed in with the red. Love it!!

  3. I wouldn’t go to CVS without their coupons. I don’t know why they charge more for everything. But their coupons can make things cost less than other places. I have $15 in rewards right now so I’ll take my 25% off coupon in and see what these look like. I like the shade on your for running around town.
