What I’m Testing Out Now: Fall 2017

I’m drowning in skincare products! This is not a complaint, just a statement of fact. I have received about a ton of new skincare products for test and review. I guess as a beauty blogger of a certain age, I get sent skincare products much more often than I receive makeup, lol.

I am grateful to these companies for sending their products, but when they arrive all at once, it is overwhelming. Because I try to test facial skincare products for a month, I have quite a backlog. Lately when skincare companies approach me to try their products, I have been asking them if they can wait a few months before sending till I catch up. But some companies just send the products.

Nevertheless, it’s very exciting that there is so much going on in the skincare category. Here’s a look at some of the brands and products that I’ll be reviewing over the next few months. There are giveaways associated with two of them.

Last and not skincare-related, I have the Bohemian collection from Julie G Nail Color that I’ve gotta finish swatching.

So there you have it! Currently, I’m testing the Laurmé suite of skincare products. I’ll be posting about them in early October for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. You may remember that I wrote about the luscious Lemon Mask back in June. Michele, the founder, developed the gentle skincare products in response to her sister’s treatment for breast cancer. Now we have a chance to honor Michele’s work and her sister’s fight against breast cancer in the next couple of weeks. Michele is generously giving away the entire set of 5 skincare products to a lucky NSDB winner. Stay tuned!

I’ve also started using the IUNIK Vitamin Hyaluronic Acid Vitalizing Toner, an intriguing product from Korea that I purchased after reading about it on Anastasia’s beauty blog, Glamorable, that often reviews skincare and especially Korean skincare products.

What new skincare products are you using these days?

    1. And there are more skincare products on their way, yikes! I tried the StriVectin NIA-114 & HA last night for the first time. So far, it’s incredible. There seem to be so many HA serums on the market these days but I love the esthetics of this one.

  1. Morning 🙋🏻☕️☕️ I will be looking forward to reading 👀your reviews in the future. I love the nail polishes. Having been a manicurist I love ❤️ all the new colors. Thanks for sharing your time with us. “SMILE”……….😍🌻🌻

    1. Thank you, sweet friend! The Julie G Nail Colors in this collection are so much fun! I’ve still gotta swatch the green and the blue. I definitely recommend them as long as you’re not doing a lot of gardening or housework – if so, they, like almost everything else, chip 🙂

    1. So far, so good for the iUNIK toner. Truth be told, I like the HA serum I just received from StriVectin even better but I’m going to use both of them together so I should have the most hydrated skin on the planet!

    1. The MEG21 cleanser and eye cream that I’ve tried in the past were very good. I hope I’ll get to these one of these days! Skincare testing takes sooooo long!

  2. WOW all of these products looks so good…………

YOU must be one heck of a organized person to keep track of what your using etc etc. What do you do with the products you don’t like?

    1. Oh, Gloria, I wish I were more organized than I am. At present, I keep many of the skincare products in the box they arrived in so I don’t lose them. When I didn’t have so many, I have a 3 drawer fabric chest that I would keep the products in the big lower drawer, but with all of these waiting in the wings, they won’t fit in the drawer. What do I do with the products I don’t like, you ask? To be honest, there aren’t that many that I dislike. But I just threw away a mascara that I didn’t like because I can’t give that away to anyone after I used it. For skincare, on the rare occasion that I don’t like something, I try to give it away. For instance, I am having a giveaway of the Derma E Psorexema Cream that I know I can’t use and I’d prefer to give it to someone who’ll enter who can use it. Same with some haircare products that I can’t use. Stuff that comes in a pump, I could give away to someone who wouldn’t mind that I tried it by the pump, but stuff in a jar, I could really only give to a family member since I put my finger in it but usually I would toss it. Great question!

        1. I have a bunch of plastic scoops and mini-spoons, and there are a few moisturizers and eye creams that I like that come in jars. But by and large, the pumps and tubes are so much easier!

  3. I’m seriously impressed with all of these. I want want want the Strivectin!! I have a ton of skincare waiting for it’s turn too. I wish I could speed up learning how they are but I want to give them all a month too.

    1. I also forgot the entire range of PCA Skin products that I’m dying to use. I’m truly drowning here. Wish there was a faster way to do this! How do you handle it?

    1. Thank you, Stacie! I think it will take me at least 6 months or more to get through all this, but I hope the companies don’t think I’m complaining, lol. There are some things that I can test at the same time as others, fortunately 🙂

  4. Oh my gosh, I’m drowning in skincare as well. I think it does have to do with our age. I love seeing the products that you’re trying our right now. I haven’t heard of some of these yet. I look forward to seeing what you think of that StriVectin.

    1. Christine, I just couldn’t wait to try it, and now I can’t stop using it so I just added it to the product lineup I’m using now. I hope you enjoy it too!
