Laurme Sensitive Skincare Collection Review & Giveaway for Breast Cancer Awareness Month

giveaway Laurme Sensitive Skin Collection, neversaydiebeauty.com

October Is Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Breast Cancer Awareness Month has personal significance for me and my family because my father died from breast cancer. He was one of the rare 2% of men who had breast cancer. It was especially difficult for him, a very masculine guy, to have what he considered to be woman’s disease. Be that as it may, I am pleased that great strides have been made in treating and curing the disease in the 25 years since his passing.

In fact, I know a lot of people don’t think we need a Breast Cancer Awareness Month because everyone is indeed “aware” of breast cancer, and I agree that awareness is not the issue. Action is. Action in terms of research for cures and treatments, and action in terms of early detection.

I am pleased to be associated with companies that contribute to organizations that help seek cures and help those fighting the disease. Today, I want to talk to you about Laurmé Skincare. Michele, the founder of Laurmé Skincare, has a dear sister who is fighting breast cancer. Because her skin was so sensitive during and after radiation and chemotherapy treatment, Michele developed a collection of skincare products that would be gentle on her stressed skin. Importantly, they would also help her feel better about herself as she used them to heal her skin and get some much needed pampering.

In addition to introducing a gentle and effective line of skincare products, Laurmé contributes to the City of Hope Cancer Treatment Center in Los Angeles throughout the year. During the month of October, Laurmé contributes 5% of proceeds to the organization specifically for breast cancer.

In order to call attention to breast cancer and to encourage you to help when and where you can, Laurmé Skincare has asked me to introduce you to their skincare collection. In return, Laurmé is giving away the entire Sensitive Skin Collection of 5 skincare products to one lucky reader of Never Say Die Beauty!

Laurmé Skincare Collection

Although Laurmé Skincare was originally developed for people undergoing cancer treatment, it is used by anyone seeking a gentle, hydrating, effective formula. The anti-aging Sensitive Skin Collection is appropriate even for pregnant women who want to avoid harsh and harmful ingredients. In fact, Michele mentioned that many obstetricians recommend that expectant moms avoid retinol, so she suggests that they pass during pregnancy on Laurmé’s Resurfacing Night Cream with retinol that is not part of the Sensitive Skin Collection.

Since the Sensitive Skin products are free of added and artificial fragrances, they are also good for those who can’t tolerate strong or artificial scents. In fact, my dry eyes often burn or tear in response to some strong chemicals or scents. My eyes have really been bothering me lately. I’ve been so happy to have Laurmé Skincare products so that my eyes aren’t irritated further by strong chemicals near them.

The products are gluten-free, have no parabens, phthalates, sulfates, or added fragrance. And they are fabulous for those with dry skin, dehydrated or stressed skin.

Laurmé Skincare products are cruelty-free and Leaping Bunny certified. They are made in the U.S.

Let’s look at the collection, shall we?

2-in-1 Gentle Cleansing Milk

2-in-1 Gentle Cleansing Milk is formulated with:

  • sweet almond oil to cleanse
  • organic sunflower oil for softening and smoothing
  • organic Bulgarian rose water to soothe stressed skin
  • glycerin to hydrate and nourish.

It’s called 2-in-1 because you can even use it to remove eye makeup as well as clean your skin without stripping it of natural oils. It truly feels so gentle and like a creamy milk on the skin. I love using it with my Foreo to gently clean and massage my skin. It rinses away with water and leaves my skin feeling hydrated.

Though it has no added fragrance, it does have a bit of a natural scent of the oils. Nevertheless, I have been so happy to have this mild cleanser to clean my skin lately, with my eyes giving me such a hard time.

2-in-1 Gentle Cleansing Milk comes in a plastic bottle and contains 4 fl. oz. $32.

Ingredients: Water, Prunus Amygdalus (Sweet Almond) Oil, Arachidyl Alcohol, Behenyl Alcohol, Arachidyl Glucoside, Behentrimonium Methosulfate, Cetearyl Alcohol, Glycerin, Cocamidopropyl Betainamide MEA Chloride, Rosa Damascena (Rose) Flower Water, Sucrose Cocoate, Sodium Cocoyl Amino Acids, Sarcosine, Potassium Aspartate, Magnesium Aspartate, Zinc Gluconate, Copper Gluconate, Anthemis Nobilis (Roman Chamomile) Flower Oil, Cananga Odorata (Ylang Ylang) Flower Oil, Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender) Flower Oil, Rosa Damascena (Rose) Flower Oil, Aniba Rosaeodora (Rosewood) Wood Extract, Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary) Leaf Extract, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Lonicera Caprifolium (Honeysuckle) Flower Extract, Lonicera Japonica (Honeysuckle) Flower Extract, P-Anisic Acid (ingredients listed in bold indicated organic)

Rose Hydrating Toner Mist

I’m a big fan of Bulgarian Rose mist, so I was thrilled to receive this lovely toner. In addition to the organic Bulgarian rosewater and essential oil that soothe stressed skin, the toner mist contains organic sunflower seed oil for softening and smoothing and glycerin for hydration and nourishment. Because of the three key ingredients, it has a very delicate rose scent rather than a strong rose scent. Even those who avoid scents would be able to use this essentially unscented mist. It can be used to tone and help serums work better, to relax skin and mind, to add more hydration, or to revive makeup as the day goes on. It’s one of my favorite Laurmé products!

Rose Hydrating Toner Mist comes in a plastic spray bottle that contains 4 fl. oz. and is priced at $30.

Ingredients: Water, Glycerin, Rosa Damascena (Rose) Flower Water, Cassia Angustifolia Seed Polysaccharide, Leuconostoc (Radish) Root Ferment Filtrate, Phospholipids, Hydrolyzed Oat Protein, Panthenol, Phosphorus, Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate, Calcium Pantothenate, Magnesium Salicylate, Zinc Gluconate, Moringa Pterygosperma (Moringa) Seed Extract, Dextrin, Rhodiola Rosea (Roseroot) Extract, Rosa Damascena (Rose) Flower Oil, Cananga Odorata (Ylang Ylang) Flower Oil, Polysorbate 20

Intense Rejuvenating Serum

After toning, I always apply serum, and I was happy to discover that it is possible to have a gentle serum without harsh ingredients. Intense Rejuvenating Serum is formulated to soften the look of fine lines and wrinkles as well as to hydrate.  The serum accomplishes those goals with antioxidants (vitamins A,C and E), sodium hyaluronate (an active form of hyaluronic acid), and organic sunflower and other oils, aloe and shea butter.

In spite of all those hydrating ingredients, the serum is remarkably lightweight. In the summer or if you have oily skin, you can use the serum without following up with moisturizer because it’s that hydrating. It takes just a minute or two to sink in to my thirsty skin.

Also, the serum has no scent that I can smell.

Intense Rejuvenating Serum comes in a thick brown glass pump bottle. One pump covers my face, and I do another pump for my neck and décoletté. The bottle contains 1 fl. oz., but I use so little at a time, I think it will be quite long-lasting. $36

Ingredients: Water, Chondrus Crispus (Carrageenan), Glycerin, Prunus Armeniaca (Apricot) Kernel Oil, Aloe Barbadensis (Aloe Vera) Leaf Juice, Squalane, Sodium Hyaluronate, Sodium PCA, Wheat Amino Acids, Symphytum Officinale (Comfrey) Extract, Panthenol, Hydroxyproline, Rosa Damascena (Rose) Flower Water, Beta Glucan, Phospholipids, Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E), Retinyl Palmitate (Vitamin A), Ascorbyl Palmitate (Vitamin C Ester), Triticum vulgare (Wheat) Germ Oil, Superoxide Dismutase, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Nut Butter, Borago Officinalis (Borage) Seed Extract, Calophyllum Inophyllum (Tamanu) Oil, Rosa Centifolia (Rose) Bud/Petals Extract, Urtica Dioica (Nettle) Leaf Extract, Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender) Flower Oil, Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary) Leaf Extract, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Undecylenoyl Glycine, Xanthan Gum, Lonicera Caprifolium (Honeysuckle) Flower Extract, Lonicera Japonica (Honeysuckle) Flower Extract, Capryloyl Glycine, Hydrogenated Lecithin, Citric Acid

Ultra Hydrating Facial Cream

I looooooove this rich but lightweight moisturizing cream. It feels sooooooo good going on. It dries quickly to a smooth finish, and it sits very nicely under foundation.

Its benefits include firming, brightening, smoothing, and reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

I’ve learned that Ultra Hydrating Facial Cream contains ingredients DMAE sometimes referred to as “a facelift in a jar” because it firms and tones skin by triggering acetylcholine that stimulates face muscles to lift skin – that’s just what I need especially around the jawline! It also contains MSM that heals damaged skin cells including burns; it sounds perfect for those who have injured skin from radiation or chemo treatments and also those with scars from acne.

Ultra Hydrating Facial Cream also rehydrates dry skin with gentle organic aloe, coconut, jojoba, and neem seed oils as well as glycerin that provides moisture and nourishment. I wasn’t familiar with organic White Willow Bark, but I’ve learned that it helps smooth out rough, dull and tired skin.

Ultra Hydrating Facial Cream comes in a plastic pump bottle, and it contains 1.7 oz. It’s priced at $35. It’s vegan.

Ingredients: Aloe Barbadensis (Aloe) Leaf Juice, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil, Dimethylaminoethanol (DMAE), Emulsifying Wax NF, Stearic Acid, Glycerin, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Limnanthes Alba (Meadowfoam) Seed Oil, Persea Gratissima (Avocado) Oil, Hamamelis Virginiana (Witch Hazel) Water, Tocopherol (Vitamin E), Phenoxyethanol, Methylsulfonylmethane (MSM), Xanthan Gum, Salix Alba (White Willow) Bark Extract, Azadirachta Indica (Neem) Seed Oil, Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary) Leaf Extract, Alcohol, Tetrasodium EDTA

Lemon Tart Exfoliating Mask

Back in May or June, I reviewed Laurmé’s scrumptious Lemon Tart Exfoliating Mask (here’s the full review). I love the natural scent of Lemon Tart Exfoliating Mask: it has a bakery smell, like a lemon tart, of course! But it’s not the least bit overpowering, it’s a mild scent.

Lemon Tart Exfoliating Mask is one of my top 5 favorite masks. Because of the yummy scent and the soufflé-like consistency, it’s a pleasure to use. In fact, it’s downright luxurious! It’s gentle, but it leaves my skin feeling smooth, soft and moisturized, plus it looks brighter, too. The Lemon Tart Mask can easily be used a couple of times a week.

The mask contains:

  • Antioxidant Vitamins A, C & E to brighten, evens skin tone and texture
  • Aloe, Squalane, Organic Shea Butter and Sunflower Seed oil to nourish dehydrated and sensitive skin
  • Cypress essential oil, with antiseptic and astringent properties, revs up dull complexions and tones the skin
  • Jojoba beads (biodegradable) gently exfoliate the skin.

Lemon Tart Exfoliating Mask comes in a plastic tub and contains 4 fl. oz. $42.

Ingredients: Aqua, Prunus Armeniaca (Apricot) Kernel Oil, Cetearyl Alcohol, Cetearyl Glucoside, Aloe Barbadensis (Aloe Vera) Leaf Juice, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Wax Beads, Glycerin, Yeast Extract, Arachidyl Alcohol, Behenyl Alcohol, Arachidyl Glucoside, Phospholipids, Tocopheryl Acetate, Retinyl Palmitate, Ascorbyl Palmitate, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Nut Butter, Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender) Flower Water, Squalane, Citrus Limon (Lemon) Peel Oil, Cupressus Sempervirens (Cypress) Leaf Oil, Litsea Cubeba Fruit Oil, Calendula Officinalis (Calendula) Flower Extract, Tilia Cordata (Linden) Flower/Leaf Extract, Galactoarabinan, Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary) Leaf Extract, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Hydrogenated Lecithin, Xanthan Gum, Dehydroacetic Acid, Benzyl Alcohol

So this is the Laurmé Sensitive Skin Collection. This month, 2-in-1 Gentle Cleanser and Lemon Tart Exfoliating Mask are part of Organic Authority’s Fall Goodie Box!  You can check out the October box here.

Laurme Lemon Tart Exfoliating Mask and 2-in-1 Gentle Cleansing Milk, neversaydiebeauty.com

They are all wonderful skincare products. Since you may not be able to go out and buy the entire collection at once, the ones I love the most are the Lemon Tart Exfoliating Mask, the Ultra Hydrating Face Moisturizer, and the Rose Hydrating Toner Mist. Laurmé Skincare is sold on their website.

  1. Allison, thank you for the lovely review, and I especially want to thank you for sharing about your dad. Breast cancer is rare in men, but it does occur, and that had to be especially hard for him – and his family. 💕

    1. Especially so long ago, there was so little awareness of breast cancer in men and the treatments aren’t as targeted as they are today. Thank you, Michele, for making such wonderful products and for supporting this important cause and for hosting this fabulous giveaway xoxo

  2. 🙋🏻Being from California, The City of Hope Hospital has a really special place in our lives. They are an “AMAZING” hospital and saves lives everyday. Here’s to October wear PINK!!!! 💕 Prayers for each and everyone who was touched by the massacre in Las Vegas. 🙏🏻🙏🏻😥

    1. I’ve heard a lot about the City of Hope and it sounds like a wonderful place. I am so glad that Michele and Laurme Skincare help support it. Thanks for your comment, DiEtta, and hope you entered xo

  3. I have a male friend who is in remission from breast cancer. He’s such an advocate for any type of BCA. Everyone is susceptible to this awful disease and I’m happy to hear that Laurme is being proactive.
By the way, is your giveaway for just the mask or the whole collection?

  4. Don’t know if I have sensitive skin or not BUT I sure have something. All of my products are leaving me with tight, dry, itchie feeling. The change of season has just messed me up I am just so aware of my face all the time. Before I applied my products and that was it for the day.

    1. This entire collection is jam-packed with natural and organic oils and ingredients. Every single product is hydrating. I think it would have to help, Gloria! So glad you entered 🙂

  5. Im getting older and my skin is getting more sensitive, redness andblotchy, this sounds like a great product line to help with that! Thank You for the chance to win!

    1. The Laurme Sensitive Skin collection really is so gentle, I’m sure it would be a good fit for your sensitive skin right now. Thank you for entering, Debbie, and good luck!

  6. My friend is dealing with kidney failure. What she puts on her skin, the largest organ in the body, is vital to her health. I would offer the Laurme Sensitive Skin Collection to her. There are so few products that she can safely use and this line looks like it will be perfect for her. Love the Leaping Bunny certification too!

    1. Mary, that is so lovely of you to think of your friend. I believe that the Laurme product line would definitely be one that she could safely use, and the products are so nice and pampering as well as hydrating. Good luck in the giveaway!

    1. Thank you, Helen. I’m glad your mother is doing well. I finally went to have my mammogram this year after putting it off for a couple, and now I am quite relieved for another 10 months till the next one. The Laurme skincare products are so lovely. They are gentle, soothing, hydrating. I’m glad to get to spread the word about them!

  7. So sorry about your Dad Allison. I’m glad you’ve found Laurme skincare, they sound wonderful on many fronts.I would love to find a gentle AND effective skincare line, maybe the few bumps on my face would go away. They aren’t acne, they are skin toned and I wouldn’t even know they were there if I couldn’t feel them when applying products.Regardless I would love for them to be gone and I think gentler skincare might be the key.Either way I LOVE the sound of the Lemon Tart Mask and win or not will probably be getting it,I love lemon and orange scents….mmmmm. Have a great day! xo

    1. Thank you, Laura. I wonder what your bumps are from? At some point, a dermatologist visit might be the right thing in case there’s something that you’re allergic to. But this is a very gentle collection with so many natural and organic ingredients so hopefully there would be nothing in it that would aggravate your skin. The Lemon Tart Exfoliating Mask is wonderful. Instead of a sharp citrusy lemon scent, it’s a gourmand, bakery lemon scent but yummy just the same. So glad you entered, good luck!

  8. I would like to use this when I have my radiation treatments coming up in 2 weeks. The radiation oncologist told me my skin will get sunburned and I already have dry skin. This will be a good skin care to use for both.

    1. Michelle, I didn’t know you were undergoing radiation treatment. I wish you all the best for a speedy recovery. Yes, this line would be perfect for you to try. It is indeed gentle and the lack of fragrance is also a good thing for sensitive skin. Thank you for commenting and entering, and good luck with the treatment most importantly.

  9. I’d love to win the Laurme Sensitive Skin Collection because I have sensitive skin with dry patches & redness! It seems to be getting worse as I age.

    1. Tina, I think Laurme skincare would be perfect for your sensitive skin – it is so amazingly gentle. Glad you entered the giveaway, good luck!

  10. I’d like to win because menopause has turned my normally oily, it-can-take-anything-you-throw-at-it skin into a less-oily, what-were-you-thinking, sometimes frighteningly flaky mess. I love that it’s gentle yet so effective. Thanks for introducing me to this brand.

    1. Very creative and cute, Lynne. But wow, that’s quite a transformation. When a much younger blogger friend refers to her skin as ‘mature’, I always laugh. I want to tell her that till you go through menopause, you don’t really know what mature skin is. In addition to the gentleness and all the other benefits of Laurme skincare like no added fragrance, CF, no bad ingredients, the fact that every single product in the Sensitive Skin Collection is hydrating is really fabulous for dry skin. Thank you for entering, and good luck!

      1. Ha ha. I only knew how to handle oily skin until menopause. I didn’t know what to do when it suddenly became tight and ::GAH:: flaky!

  11. I love effective skincare products and I’m always on the hunt for one. I would be very happy to try this set!

  12. I am so sorry to hear that your father died of cancer. I have heard of men having breast cancer but no one specifically until now. My brother in law that was like a brother to me died at a very young age, in his early 30’s and it was horrific to watch. My mother has had breast cancer. Her sister died of breast cancer. It touches so many lives. I agree with you-action is needed.
I love trying new skincare products and these sound really good. I can’t think of a better was to get to try them.

    1. Oh, Christy, I’m sorry to hear that illness and breast cancer has touched so many in your family as well. In terms of the Laurme Sensitive Skin Collection, though it was developed for those with sensitive skin and stressed skin that is dealing with medical treatment, it is both effective and pampering too. Great stuff! Glad you entered the giveaway, and good luck 🙂

  13. I have very sensitive aging skin. I would love to try these products. I feel they are perfect for my skin type.

    1. Patricia, I think you’d like Laurme’s collection for sensitive skin. Though it is very gentle and has so many terrific organic and natural ingredients, it is effective and also pampering. Thank you for entering and good luck!

    1. Both the mist and the moisturizer are among my faves. There aren’t that many brands for those with the most sensitive or compromised skin from illness and medical treatment, and Laurme Skincare is so beautifully made that it is really a wonderful brand for anyone!

  14. I’m very sorry about your father, we lost someone to colon cancer because he was too embarrassed to talk about his symptoms as a guy until it was too late. You are so right about awareness and we need to lift the stigma behind the conversation. My aunt just finished her chemo last week. She has a long road ahead still, but thankfully she got a second opinion. She didn’t have any lumps, she had an open sore that was the last symptom you traditionally think of as a sign of breast cancer. I would love to surprise her with this skincare brand, what a sad and heartwarming story behind it. Self care is so important for your mental state. When battling cancer you still want to keep up a skincare routine. Thank you.

    1. Thank you, Raine. I am sorry to hear that your family has been touched by cancer too. How wonderful that you’re entering on behalf of your aunt. Best of luck in the drawing xo

  15. I would love to try these. I have sensitive skin and even eczema and it causes dry flaky skin so i am forever looking for new products to try. I have learned that i will probably have this forever but i am trying to find new ways to keep it under control. This is a great way for me to try this.

    1. Kelly, the Laurme Sensitive Skin collection is both very gentle and hydrating so it may help with your condition. But also stay tuned because I’ll be doing a giveaway soon for a product from another brand that is specifically developed for psoriasis and eczema. You should enter both of these giveaways. Good luck!

  16. These sound really lovely. I don’t have sensitive skin most of the time, but it seems like nothing is gentle enough after I’ve had a cold and my face is raw.

  17. I have sensitive skin and I like to be careful with the products that I choose to us on my skin. The ingredients in these products sound wonderful and sound like they would be a great fit for my skin care.

  18. I am sorry for your loss!! Sending prayers and lots of love!! This skincare sounds amazing!! I have tried so many but still don’t love any one brand!! Thank you for the giveaway!!

    1. Laurme Sensitive Skin is a wonderful gentle collection with terrific ingredients. I think you’d like it, Nickie. Thanks for entering and good luck in the giveaway!

  20. I want to win because I’m excited about a gentle, chemical free line for winter. I have adult acne and need some extra help in winter with snowboarding and wind and cold burn, plus the dry heat outside the home. I always have humidifiers running in winter. I think this line may be a solution to my forty year old skin!

    1. Gentle skincare with more natural and organic ingredients can’t hurt, Erika, and like you said, it may help. I’m having good luck with this line. Thank you for entering the giveaway and good luck!

  21. Breast cancer has affected so many families and people I know. I think a skin care line devoted to those going through treatment is fabulous, plus the products sound wonderful–the lemon tart mask has me especially intrigued! Would love to try all of these products

    1. It’s true. It’s so wonderful that Michele developed this skincare line for those with fragile or sensitive skin, or even for those of us who don’t have sensitive skin coz the ingredient list is terrific. Thank you, Kim, for taking the time to enter xo

  22. I would love to win this for my mom because she has very sensitive skin and a lot of products have not been good to her skin!

    1. I think your mom would enjoy the Laurme Sensitive Skin collection because the products don’t have parabens, harsh ingredients or fragrance that can irritate sensitive skin. It’s so nice of you to enter on her behalf. Good luck, Iliana!

She’s super strong willed and stubborn so she hates to ask for help even though all we want to do is help her in any way we can. I’m going to tell her about these products because her skin has changed so much after all of the treatments, radiation, and years of chemo. My deepest condolences on the passing of your father. Thank you for sharing!

It was also developed by a woman whose mom was going through treatment for breast cancer who suffered with chemocap from the treatment. Hope you’ll enter. The LotusRx giveaway ends in a couple of days.
