Crystalline Holographic Goodness from Jesse’s Girl GlowStix Lip Gloss

Jesse's Girl GlowStix lipgloss tubes in 8 shades,

The trend toward crystals, unicorns and holographic everything shows no signs of abating, and that’s fine with me. I love things that shift colors and glow. And when they’re affordable, that’s even better.

How exciting that Jesse’s Girl has just launched 6 new shades in new packaging of its award-winning GlowStix holographic lip gloss! The new shades really step it up a notch! I’ve got all 8 shades in the line to show you. Aren’t they gorgeous?

Matte lipsticks have had more than their fair share of days in the sun, so I am thrilled that lip glosses are making a comeback. For my dry lips, a pretty lipgloss is everything. Now I have a rainbow of transformative shades to choose from.

See the following shades in the photo below:

  • Titania (new): fire coral color finish with yellow & orange accents
  • Nova (new): cotton candy pink with purple-blue finish
  • Pandora (new): warm gold with lime green & electric yellow finish
  • Cassiopeia (new): orange and green with a deep holographic effect
  • Aurora (new): electric teal with purples, indigo and green glow
  • Wicked: green with blue shift
  • Astrid (new): golden crystals with a glowing creamsicle – orange and gold – finish
  • Red Dawn: iridescent orange with red shift

Here are the swatches in the same order as the tubes above:

In the photo of the swatches above, I would say that Nova has a real purple shift that you can’t see in the photo, and Red Dawn at the bottom is the most subtle shade in a peachy tone. The blues and greens as well as the first shade, the bright coral Titania, show up the most. Since I’m older, I stick with the more conservative shades and reach for  Titania and Astrid most often.

Jesse’s Girl GlowStix use a liquid crystal technology to create holographic effects that you can see in the tube and on your lips. They lend a 3D dimensional look to your lips whether you wear the gloss on its own or over lipstick as a base. In the photos below, I’m wearing Astrid on its own and over an orange lipstick. Sorry the photos can’t quite capture the golden iridescent effect.

For me, the GlowStix lipglosses are lightweight and juicy. I don’t find them to be sticky. Like most lipglosses, they wear for a couple of hours and then need to be replenished. The attractive flat “tubes” are easy to carry in a pocket or makeup bag.

These super fun glowing glosses are perfect for the festival season or just for anytime. Though targeted at Millennials and younger, I’m having a blast playing with them. You can really get your glow on with these pretties!

Each GlowStix contains 0.14 oz./4g and is priced at $9.95. You can find them on the Jesse’s Girl website and at select RiteAid and Walgreens stores. If you want all 8 shades, you can buy them at a great discount for $64 on the Jesse’s Girl website. Jesse’s Girl is a cruelty-free brand. I think they’d make fun little gifts as well as self-treats <3

  1. Not a Millennial but I think I am going to try one!! I like the looks of Nova but it will all determine the actual “up close and personal look”.

    1. Sandy, I think Nova would be a good choice because of the purpley shift. It’s fairly conservative so I don’t think you have to be a millennial for that one like you do for the blues and greens. If you don’t mind that I swatched Nova on my arm, I’ll send it to you. LMK.

    1. Do I remember you playing with these before Josie was born? I think you did a colorful look, and you were wearing a purple lipstick with a GlowStix on top? Anyway, yes you should play with them when you have time!

    1. They were a bit of a challenge to photograph. I actually took about a million pix, and these came out the best of the lot. Yes, they are so pretty and fun!

  2. I can’t figure out which name goes to which color…it appears you are missing a color? Regardless, they are all super pretty.

    1. Unfortunately, Red Dawn, one of the two original shades, is very very difficult to see there at the bottom in between the shade name and the brand name.
