Happy Day after Thanksgiving! I got my what I wanted…..I have been wanting the Morphe 9 Piece Make up Brush Set. My daughter and granddaughter went out last night to Ulta. They got me the brush set…..$19.99 it was $49.99. YAHOO! The brushes come in a nice black zipper case. 9 really nice brushes. Exactly what one needs. I love them! Such a good price. Great for traveling too. Have a nice weekend.

We had a quiet Thanksgiving. Hubby and I, our daughter and my Dad. No going out shopping for me. But daughter and granddaughter went out around 9 pm to the Ulta Store. They said it wasn’t to bad. We’re lucky because we have 4 Ulta Stores within several miles of us. (Not a good thing either! 😱) But oh so fun. Like I need any more beauty things. Me and my daughter and granddaughters are all make-up junkies 3 generations. My mom and grandmother loved make-up too. So it’s in our DNA. (I miss them both so much.) when I was a little girl, I would go to my grandmas and play in all her make-up and loved all her perfumes. I wish now I had collected all her beautiful bottles.
It sounds like it was a very nice Thanksgiving for you and your family, DiEtta. I misunderstood – I thought you went to Ulta with your daughter and granddaughter. How nice that you didn’t have to brave the crowds! I can’t believe you have 4 Ulta nearby – that would destroy me, lol. I hear ya on the beauty product obsession in your DNA 😀 I’m right there with you. And I’m glad that you have such nice memories of that obsession related to your grandmother. So sweet!
So…..what have you caved and bought??? After you came out of your food-coma, that is. 😛 We went out this year. Odd feeling, but it was quite nice to not have to worry about cooking or cleaning up or anything. And I don’t have a thousand trays of leftovers mocking me for the next two weeks! I tell ya, I could get used to that.
I was pretty impressed when I got the email from Ulta listing some of their deals- a number of them looked really good! In the end I didn’t get anything though since I did so much damage during the last Sephora sale. Beauty-wise the only things I did purchase were the Sephora mini Pat McGrath Elson lipstick (mine) and the Nest Black Tulip minis set for a gift.
In non-beauty related shopping, I got a pile of literary tshirts from Out of Print Clothing (mostly gifts) a pair of 40s repro winter boots (allllll me) and I picked up a couple things at Joann Fabrics for some projects I’m working on. The line was massive and I regretted even going in (my other purchases were all online) but I really did need a couple of the things rather quickly as I’ve got a charity auction christmas tree that needs to be done and out the door on Sunday. And since some of the sales let me get the stuff for a much deeper discount than usual, I guess it was worth it. Hassle but much cheaper today vs slightly less hassle but rather more expensive tomorrow…. I’d rather save the bucks. That paid for my lipstick. lol
I have never gone out to dinner for Thanksgiving, but it sounds like a delightful idea! I’m glad you weren’t saddled with all the cooking this year, Rachel. We went to Jeff’s ex-wife’s house because their older daughter was home visiting from NC. It was a nice day, and I didn’t overeat. In fact, I was hungry when we got home. So far, I bought 4 quads from Zoya at $9 each, 2 to give as gifts. And another bra at 50% off from Savage x Fenty because I loved the two I bought last month. So far, that’s it. I am considering buying some perfume from Sylvaine de la Courte whose Discovery kit I bought in October. I know I don’t need more perfume, and even with the deal, it’s still a lot of $ even with the extra perfume they include. We’ll see. Sounds like you’re doing well resisting. I also spent a lot during the Ulta and Sephora events, and I have a little more I need to spend at Ulta to keep my platinum status.
