Light as a Feather: touch in SOL Pretty Filter Soul Velvet Lipstick

touch in SOL Pretty Filter Soul Velvet Lipstick rectangular tube that's the same color as the lipstick, Seoul Rose

Today, I went for a 5 mile walk in the woods with two of my friends. It was a brilliantly sunny day. Even thought it was not quite 50 degrees, the sun felt strong and warm. We had a wonderful, long walk. My iheart phone app said I walked 14,596 steps. Yes!

Since I decided to have fun outdoors this afternoon instead of staying in and writing, I didn’t have a chance to write a post for Friday. So this is going to be a quick one.

Are you familiar with the Korean beauty brand “touch in SOL”? I first found out about it when I received a mini tube of touch in SOL foundation in my Sephora Play bag when I used to be a subscriber. I reeeeeally liked that foundation.  After I finished the travel size foundation, I intended to buy a full size, but I have so much foundation that I tabled that plan.

In February, I got a tube of touch in SOL Pretty Filter Squad Velvet Lipstick from Ipsy. I think I bought this tube as one of the extras that was available before my Ipsy Plus bag was mailed out. I decided to buy it because I was curious about trying another product from touch in SOL, and the shade of the lipstick, Seoul Rose, looked like a good choice for me. I’m not sure how much I paid for it, maybe $8 or $12? Ipsy always makes a variety of full size and mini size beauty products available as add-ons for less than the regular price.

I wish I knew the name of the type of plastic used on the lipstick case. It’s the kind of material that feels velvety, though it’s plastic. The color of the rectangular “tube” is the shade of the lipstick. I’ve been trying to adjust the color of the photo because the shade is not a peachy-pink like the photo below. It is rose.

The lipstick is one of the new(ish) featherweight lipsticks. Honestly, if feels like nothing on my lips. Nevertheless, it goes on with a creaminess that gives it slip. The color is buildable, though even the first swipe is very pigmented. Doing a second swipe makes it even bolder. On the lips, it has a sort of matte finish rather than a cream or satin finish. Once it’s on, it’s neither drying nor hydrating: it’s neutral.

The color I chose, Seoul Rose, is really beautiful IMHO. It’s a deep rose shade. Here’s the photo from the touch in SOL website that is more accurate.

Here’s Seoul Rose on me. That’s one swipe.

There are 5 other shades to choose from: Havana Red, Melrose Pink, Gili Coral, Melbourne Pink, Portland Brick. I would love a few more in my stash! It’s a great formula.

In terms of lastingness, it stays on for several hours. It doesn’t make it through a meal, but it does leave some color on my lips.

I’m glad I bought this lipstick. I will wear it a lot this spring. In fact, I am wearing it now!

touch in SOL Pretty Filter Soul Velvet Lipstick (almost the longest lipstick name in history) is priced at $16 and is sold on the touch in SOL website and at Sephora. touch in SOL is made from natural and botanical ingredients and is cruelty-free. Check it out!

  1. That’s lovely on you! I probably [surely. definitely.] don’t need more red lipstick [who’s counting?!?] but Havana Red and Portland Brick are majorly calling my name. We’ll see what happens!

    1. Thank you, Rachel! I love both Havana Red and Portland Brick, but I think Portland Brick is a little more unusual, so I will check Ipsy and hang around the touch in SOL website and see if they have a sale sooner or later. I’ll let you know if I see anything 😉

    1. That’s great, Gemma, that you’ve used the mascara from Touch in SOL! I hope you had good luck with it. Right now, I am searching for a misplaced No Pore Blem Priming Water that I got in an Ipsy Plus box so I can add that to my TOS repertoire. I’ll have to check out the mascara. Thanks for your comment.
