Girlactik La Creme Lipstick

Several Ipsy Plus bags ago, I received a highlighter duo compact from Girlactik. It was very pretty, nicely pigmented, and all around terrific. I had never heard of that brand before, but the compact certainly put it on my radar.

Shortly after that, ads from Girlactik started showing up in my Facebook feed. Ads for lipstick. You know how hard it is for me to look the other way when lipstick’s at stake. Around the Fourth of July, Girlactick started running ads on Facebook for 50% off. I finally took the plunge, and ordered one Girlactik La Crème Lipstick to try it out.

It arrived in a pretty pink metallic mailer with a pink net bag holding the La Crème box.

Here’s how the Girlactik website describes the La Crème Lipstick line:

“Color your lips with a richly pigmented, silky smooth lipstick. The luxurious creamy texture adds the perfect color to your lips, imparting just the right amount of color with a semi-shine/semi-matte look that’s hydrating with a red guava scent.”

The description is pretty darn accurate. I bought the berry shade, Couture.

It truly is highly pigmented, super creamy, and it covers in one swipe. It goes on very smoothly with no skipping or dry patches; it has enough slip for application ease, but it doesn’t move outside the lines. It truly has a “semi-shine/semi-matte look” – that’s exactly the way to describe it.

I would say that it is creamy and initially hydrating, but after a few minutes on me it feels neutral, neither hydrating nor drying. After a couple of minutes, it becomes so lightweight that I forget I have any lipstick on. It doesn’t bleed or settle into liplines, thank goodness. It’s just so comfortable to wear 🙂

Although the website mentions a red guava scent, I never noticed it. I just went back to sniff it, and there is a faint sweet scent, but it is barely perceptible and fades immediately. I think even scent-averse people could wear this formula.

La Crème Lipstick is a cream lipstick, so it’s not a long-wearing lipstick, but if you don’t eat, it lasts for several hours.

Girlactik La Crème Lipstick comes in 6 shades (though one shade is sold out) that range from nudes, peach, berry, red, and mauve. I almost bought a mauve shade, but I reminded myself that I have oodles of mauves and reds. I’m glad I went for the berry shade that will be perfect for fall.  Is it mask-proof? Well, not so much. It does come off a little bit on the inside of my mask, so I usually will wait to apply it if I am in a place where I’m far enough away from people to take off my mask.

Girlactik La Crème Lipstick is priced at $22 for 3 g/.11 oz. Girlactik says that the lipstick is good for 6 months after opening. It can be purchased on the Girlactik website where there’s free shipping, at Macy’s, at a variety of boutiques across the U.S. including a chain of boutiques called Blushington. Girlactik is cruelty-free.

I’m really happy with this lipstick purchase. I’ll be back to check out more from Girlactik!

  1. Wow, hadn’t heard of this brand before. Next time I need a nude lippie I’m going to try their “Naked” shade. I don’t like super-matte lipsticks, and glosses are often too sticky, so this sounds perfect. Thanks for the heads-up!

    1. If it hadn’t been for Ipsy, I wouldn’t have heard of Girlactik either. Glad I found this lipstick because the formula is just so comfortable and wearable.

  2. So pretty! I love a glossy cream lipstick and need to try these. I’ve been wearing mostly MAC luster finish. Over a decade ago I was very addicted to Girlactik metallic pot lip glosses. It’s a great brand!

  3. I think they changed their packaging. I remember this brand when I first started blogging in 2011. I love the shade. I will revisit this brand, I’m surprised it’s still around because it got lost in the radar
