Farmacy Very Cherry Clean Cleansing Balm

Back in October, clean beauty brand Farmacy re-released its limited edition Very Cherry Clean Meltaway Cleansing Balm. I had seen a few reviews from other bloggers about it.

Because I love everything cherry as well as everything pink, I had to try it especially since it is going to disappear again.

I Bought This, Affiliate Links

Nevertheless, I waited for the pre-holiday sales, and I ended up buying it during one of the Black Friday sales where I got it for 25% off. If only I had waited a little longer, I could have scored 30% off on the Farmacy website. Now, Farmacy has everything 25% off and an extra 10% back through Rakuten. (I must say that I am underwhelmed with the sales at Sephora this year.)

So what do I think about Farmacy Very Cherry Clean Meltaway Cleansing Balm? It truly is VERY CHERRY! As I mentioned above, I love cherries: their color, their taste, and even their scent. But wow, the non-synthetic cherry scent of this balm is super strong! It’s like the whole pie in one little balm. To be honest, I was worried about applying the pretty pink balm to my eyes because of the scent. But it turned out to be fine.

Very Cherry Clean is the cherry version of Farmacy’s Green Clean cleansing balm that is part of their regular product line. Like all of the cleansing balms I have tried, Very Cherry Clean is a balm to oil cleanser. I always find that transformation rather fun and somewhat mysterious. The balm that turns to a milky oil does an excellent job removing my mascara, eyeliner, CC cream, and lipstick. It is highly emollient, and it leaves my skin feeling very moisturized, super soft, with no greasy residue.

Farmacy Very Cherry Clean is loaded with skin-loving, natural ingredients. Here’s how Farmacy describes the ingredients and their benefits:

Infused with acerola cherry. Our newest, juiciest, farm-fresh ingredient is one of the richest sources of vitamin C found in nature! This antioxidant-rich tropical fruit helps brighten, firm and hydrate skin.

Melts makeup + pollution residue. Sunflower and moringa seed oils gently remove even the boldest eye makeup and long-wear foundation without stripping or drying, leaving skin hydrated and silky smooth. Moringa extract lifts away dirt, grime and impurities from pollution.

Gently exfoliates. Papaya extract gently exfoliates to retexture skin and reveal a youthful glow. Never harsh, it’s safe for all skin types, including dry and delicate skin.

I’m glad to know about the exfoliation benefit, and I hope some of the vitamin C sinks into my skin before I tissue off the oil and makeup and rinse with water. But I mostly bought it for the cherry scent and pink color.

Because it is such an emollient balm/oil, I tend to use it primarily on the days that I wear some makeup (which is not all that often these days). But perhaps on cold winter days when I’ve been outdoors a lot, I will use it to rehydrate my skin.

So is this a must-have? If you’re a fan of cherry scent, by all means. If you wear makeup frequently, it does a great job removing makeup and leaving your skin and lashes soft and hydrated. But if you don’t like strong scents, take a pass on this one. I checked out the reviews on the Farmacy website, and Very Cherry gets 5 stars. Just about everyone loves it.

Farmacy Very Cherry Clean is cruelty-free. The jar holds 100 ml and is priced at $34. It is recommended for all skin types, and I was amazed at how many women reviewers who said their major concern was acne used this product and loved it. Also, it is good for those with sensitive skin.

Farmacy Very Cherry is sold on the Farmacy website, at Bella Kallista Beauty where I bought mine and it’s also 30% off if you sign up for their free Rewards program, and at Sephora.

  1. It’s the best makeup remover I’ve ever used, and I thought nothing could be better than Boscia. Yes, the fragrance is strong, but anything that can get rid of Lime Crime liquid lipstick in one application is my friend for life!

    1. That’s great, Gabrielle! I’m glad to hear you’re a fan and that it works on hard to remove makeup. I am getting used to the scent, and I definitely agree with you on the efficacy. It gets rid of the tough stuff for sure!

  2. Allison,
As you know I love balms to remove makeup with my favorite being Colleen Rothschild. However I may check this product out when I am ready to buy another balm. I love cherry too. In fact I just found Michigan Cherry coffee to brew.

    On another note…Chag Urim Sameach.
