Memorial Weekend Beauty Spotlight Team Weekly Roundup

Although the Memorial Day remembrance certainly is a solemn holiday as we thank those who made the ultimate sacrifice in the service of the United States, Memorial Weekend has become the unofficial kick-off to the summer. We’re starting it off here in Massachusetts with 48 degree temperatures and rain, rain, rain. Not exactly what I had in mind, but there it is. After being awakened yesterday morning around 8am by one of the major shelves in my closet coming off the wall and taking all the purses, hat boxes and clothing with it, I cleaned up the best I could and then ran outdoors to my backyard to continue raking, aerating and putting down grass seed quickly, so that it could take advantage of the cool temps and rain, grass seeds’ best friends. Nice start to the holiday weekend!

I had planned to tour three gardens owned by members of the North Shore Horticultural Society today, but I am assuming that will be rained out. Instead, maybe we will think about going to a museum, something we haven’t done in over a year. We’ll see. Since the rain is going to continue through Sunday, my plans for a BBQ have been replaced by making an eggplant parm and inviting two friends over to join us. At least we can visit with vaccinated friends again, yay!

Hope you have some fun plans for the weekend, and hope the sun will be shining on you (with sunscreen, of course)!

Although we will have another new member joining the Beauty Spotlight Team in mid-June, this holiday weekend it’s a short list of us stalwarts. Nevertheless, I hope you’ll take a look.
