A lot of you know me from the different blogs I’ve been writing on but I still want to give you some background. I hope you don’t mind.
I’ve been writing about cosmetics for over 20 years. When I retired from teaching after 30 years I needed a creative outlet and luckily I found a beauty chatroom to contribute to. Before I knew it I was running the site and editing everyone’s reviews. That led me to starting Beauty Info Zone where I remained for 11 years and then moved to Prime Beauty for a year. Allison adopted me so I can continue blogging.
I’m a mother of two adult sons, a mother-in-law who never ever butts in, and a grandmother to an 8 and 10 year old who are the loves of my life. I’m a dog lover and have always had one. Lucy is our newest dog, she’s 2 years old and has always been home with us since we adopted her during Covid. She thinks she owns us and that’s okay with my husband and me.

Things I go gaga for are mostly for the eyes. I love eyeshadows and have more than I can possibly count. I’ve actually been on a mission to give away new palettes I’ve gotten through subscriptions via Buy Nothing for my city (thanks to Allison for teaching me about that). I am also a nut when it comes to eye creams. I have half a dozen open ones so sometimes I “cocktail” them especially when I’m not testing for a review. My biggest hobby is reading. I have hundreds of books saved on my iPad and a day doesn’t go by without me reading. My goal for this year is 60 books. I made it to 100 last year but I won’t be home quite as much in 2022.
Now for my new favorite eyeshadow to start the year: IT COSMETICS Superhero No-Tug Shadow Stick. I received this for free from BZZ Agent. I love shadow sticks aka eyeshadow crayons. I love the ease of use, the versatility and the colors. The shade I have is Silk Armor but it looks lighter than the picture on Sephora. It’s a pearlized shadow without glitter. It gives a metallic affect and totally makes my eyes shine. There’s just enough gold to give shine without being over the top.
I have several different brands of shadow sticks, but none seem to be as soft and manageable as this one from IT Cosmetics. It’s available in 6 shades at Sephora: 4 pearl finish, 2 matte finish. I have a birthday coming up very very soon and I put Super Slate in my cart for my birthday cosmetic spree. I’m super curious about Transformative Taupe, but it’s a matte and I love some soft shimmer or metallic like the perfect Silk Armor.
The beauty of IT Cosmetic’s Superhero No-Tug Shadow Stick is that I can use this as an eyeshadow base for other shadows or I can swipe it on alone, add an eyeliner and mascara and I’m ready to go. It’s worth the $24 and I think Silk Armor would be a great addition, especially if you are like me and adore creamy eyeshadows. — Marcia
