Hydration with Caire Theorem Serum Boost

For the past four months, I have been almost drinking Caire Theorem Serum Boost! I’ve used up 2/3 of the bottle because I use it religiously twice a day.

Caire Beauty: Their Focus

Caire Beauty was a new-to-me brand. Their tagline is terrific: Skincare for Grownups. I love that! And their other tagline is Age Awesome Skincare. Perfect!

I honestly am not sure that skincare products developed for women in their 20s or even 30s is appropriate or effective for my dry, mature skin. The fact that Caire Beauty develops products for aging, mature skin got my attention immediately. Their target market is pre- and post-menopausal women.

Caire Beauty’s Founders

Started by two women entrepreneurs, Celeste Lee and Lorrie King, long-time beauty insiders. They are also BIPOC (black, indigenous, people of color).

Meeting with some of their scientist friends, they learned that diminishing hormones are responsible for the change in our skin as we age. That was the impetus for them to start Caire Beauty, a product line developed specifically for women with diminishing hormone levels.

Caire’s Mission

Here’s what Caire Beauty has been up to from the start:

“WHY HAVE OUR OWN LAB & SCIENTISTS?

As long time beauty experts we knew in order to be different we had to start from scratch and build new formulations in our own Caire Lab.  We only create original, groundbreaking skin care for mature skin … using the most advanced natural biochemistry in our formulas.

This is why we are very different from most of the rest of the beauty industry and almost every beauty start up.  We are not copying formulas, or white-labeling, or outsourcing facial skin care formulation development because we have our own scientists and formulators who meticulously create new approaches to science in beauty.

99% of anti-aging masks and serums are built for use on the skin’s surface.  Our formulas work to help build skin back up from the inside out.”

Caire Beauty’s Product Regimen

In order to keep things simple, Caire has started out with a two product regimen to use as a base:

Caire Theorem Serum Boost

Right from the start, Caire Theorem Serum Boost was a hit with me. First, I had been reading elsewhere that tiny hyaluronic acid molecules are the ones that do skin the most good. Often, HA molecules in skincare products are too big to get down through the levels of the skin where they can actually affect change. Most larger HA molecules sit on the surface of the skin. I hadn’t known that.

In fact, before I received Caire Beauty Theorem Serum Boost to try out, I had been searching for a hyaluronic acid serum or anti-aging product made with tiny HA molecules. This came along at exactly the right time!

Caire’s “proprietary formula uses the most advanced triple-action Hyaluronic Acid complex that is turbocharged with bio-fermentation to drive product deeply into hormone-depleted mature skin.” This formula helps enhance slowed collagen production and helps skin build itself back up.

The key active ingredients are:

  • full spectrum of hyaluronic acid molecules
  • Growth Factor-1 peptides: peptide hormones that mediate tissue functions like cell growth, differentiation, proliferation, and metabolism
  • hawthorn and Arabian Jasmine: white flower plants that contain flavonoids that help lift sagging skin especially around the eyes.

Plus they are utilized within the formula using Caire’s proprietary molecular delivery system that helps them get deeper into the skin where they can perform effectively.

Importantly, Theorem Serum Boost can be used around the eyes, on the neck and chest, and also the hands. I hadn’t realized it could be used around the eyes and on the hands, so I am going to start using it there as well. I really hope I’ll see a difference especially on my hands where the skin looks papery and thin, boo.

My Experience with Theorem Serum Boost

As I mentioned, I really, really like this rich, liqui-gel serum. It comes in a frosted, heavy glass bottle with an elegantly curved glass dropper.

Because the clear liquid is so thick, I couldn’t get it to come out of the curved dropper. I emailed the founders, and they immediately sent me a straight glass dropper that worked more effectively to dispense the rich liqui-gel. The only change I would make to the product is to replace the beautiful curved tip dropper with a more pedestrian, but better suited plain, straight dropper.

One squeeze-worth of the dropper gives me enough serum for my face and neck. I think it would give me enough for my eyes as well, and I will definitely start using it there ASAP. When I try this one the backs of my hands, I will need to use a bit more, though probably just half a dropper’s worth.

I am kind of surprised that the Caire website says that the full size 30 ml/1 fl. oz. bottle of Theorem Serum Boost that I have (priced at $56) will last about a month using it twice a day. In the almost 4 months that I have been using mine, I still have about 1/3 of the bottle left, and believe me, I’m not skimping on using it.

I smooth it on my face and neck. It takes between 30 seconds and a minute for the serum to sink in and dry.

Caire Theorem Serum Boost has definitely made a difference in my skin that I can feel. It feels much less dry. It feels plumper and bouncier. To be honest, I only needed to test this serum for 4 weeks, review it, and then move on to another hyaluronic acid serum if I wanted to. But I have continued to use Theorem Serum Boost because I like the way my skin feels so much!

More Information about Theorem Serum Boost

Caire Beauty products are cruelty-free, vegan, made from plant and sea ingredients. They are also “clean beauty”, a term that means made from natural ingredients, though the term is not regulated. The products have been dermatologist-tested, and they are good for all skin types.

Another wonderful thing about Caire Beauty is that they make it easier to try their skincare duo before committing to full size bottles and jars. They sell smaller sizes of Theorem Serum Boost and Triple Lift Molecule Mask both together as “Defiance Science Try Me Glowmaker Duo, Serum + Mask” for $46 or separately where a half size bottle (0.5 fl. oz./15 ml) of Theorem Serum Boost is $34. They’re sold on the Caire Beauty website that has free shipping. Take a look. It is worth your time. I’ll be back to review Triple Lift Molecule Mask soon.
