K-Beauty Skincare from #OOTD Beauty

Just now, I finally discovered the meaning behind the name OOTD (OXYGEN of the day) for K-Beauty brand, #OOTD, rather than the usual “outfit of the day”. To be honest, I have no idea what oxygen refers to. I have tried Oxygen Masks from other brands, but I don’t know what it has to do with #OOTD.

#OOTD Beauty is certified vegan and cruelty-free. It is made from natural and sustainable ingredients and manufactured in South Korea.

I’ve been trying out two skincare products from new-to-me, #OOTD Beauty, for about the past 6 weeks:

  • Wrinkle Lift Eye Serum, R+
  • Intensive Face Serum, H+

From the look of the young women on the #OOTD Beauty website, I got the feeling that the brand is targeted to very young women, say 18-24 or maybe 18-29. But to be honest, the two serums that I’ve been using have worked well for me at my advanced age, lol. Perhaps if I had tried moisturizers or eye creams, I might have felt differently, but the serums were great. And because they were both lightweight serums, I could see how they would work well in a multi-step K-beauty regimen. Since I often use several products layered on each other, these two serums were excellent.

#OOTD Wrinkle Lift Eye Serum, R+

first, I had no idea what R+ stood for, but eventually, I figured it out. #OOTD organizes their products into collections by key ingredient. R+ stands for the Retinol Collection.

The key actives in vegan Wrinkle Lift Eye Serum are:

  • retinol
  • ceramide
  • sodium hyaluronate or HA.

All three active ingredients are the ones I look for in almost all of the skincare products I choose. The remaining ingredients are also well-known ingredients found in skincare products, as you will see below. This product mentions “fragrance” as an ingredient, but it has a light, clean scent if you smell the tube but none on my face.

Although Wrinkle Lift Eye Serum was created to be applied under the eyes along the orbital bone, I figured, as usual, why stop there? This lightweight white serum that boasts that it boosts elasticity is also perfect to tap into the skin above the creases of my eyes. Because of the retinol in the serum, I make sure to apply it to the corners of my eyes to try to soften my crow’s feet as well as under my eyes to help fade the darkness and the tiny fine lines at the bottom of the orbital bone.

In addition, Wrinkle Lift Eye Serum is #OOTD Beauty’s nighttime eye serum. They have a daytime serum as well. Because it has retinol in the PM formula, I do use it at night before bed and I use another serum without retinol that I already own during the day.

In the month or so that I’ve been using Wrinkle Lift Eye Serum, it has helped add elasticity to my upper eye area and crease, softness and moisture to the area under my eyes, and has strengthened the barrier of the skin around my eyes.

The airless pump tube contains 1.0 oz./30 g. It is typically priced at $29.99 but is currently selling on their website at 50% off or $15, well worth the price. They also offer free shipping on at least your first order.

Ingredients: Water, Glycerin, Propylene Glycol, Cetyl Ethylhexanoate, Hydrogenated Polydecene, Cetearyl Olivate, Phenoxyethanol, Sorbitan Olivate, Hydroxyethyl Acrylate/Sodium Acryloyldimethyl Taurate Copolymer, Dimethicone, Allantoin, Ethylhexylglycerin, Sorbitan Isostearate, Polysorbate 60, Disodium EDTA, Niacinamide, Ceramide NP, Ascorbic Acid, Fragrance

Intensive Moisture Face Serum A.M., H+

Now that I’ve cracked the code, Intensive Moisture Face Serum H+ is part of the Hyaluronate Collection, which makes perfect sense since it’s called “Intensive Moisture” due to the two forms of hyaluronic acid in the formula.

#OOTD Beauty positions the hydration-focused face serum as a daytime serum. Because it is so lightweight, it works well as a serum that almost immediately dries into the skin making it easy to wear under a sunscreen and also under foundation. Nevertheless, I don’t see any reason why it can’t also be used at night, when I often include it in my nighttime regimen. In fact, it does a good job making my face feel soft and hydrated.

The Intensive Moisture Face Serum also includes ascorbic acid for brightening and to even skin tone, though it doesn’t give the concentration of Vitamin C, and it shows up toward the end of the below ingredient list.

Intensive Moisture Face Serum A.M. comes in an airless pump containing 1.69 fl. oz. On the #OOTD website, it too is currently on sale for $17 (more than 50% off) rather than the regular price of $38.
