Crabtree & Evelyn Citron Honey & Coriander Refreshing Body Bar

I collect Crabtree & Evelyn Anniversary Mugs. I’ve been collecting them since 1986. They come out every year around Thanksgiving, dated for the coming year, in a different design. This one is from 2003, one of my favorites.

Crabtree & Evelyn Anniversary Mug 2003

I was happy to learn recently that they really appreciate in value over the years! Unfortunately, the C&E store closest to me closed a couple of years ago, so I have to order the mugs online. To get the free shipping, you have to order about $50 or maybe it was even more.

Anyway, C&E was out of stock on a lot of my favorites so I had to try something new. A beauty blogger I follow, Tina at myhighestselfblog.com, recommended Crabtree & Evelyn Citron Honey & Coriander Shower Gel recently. I love any citrus scent so I went for the soap instead (more affordable).

I Bought This

Crabtree & Evelyn Citron Honey & Coriander Body Bar

Here’s what C&E says about it:

“For the most revitalising shower imaginable, lather up with our Citron, Honey & Coriander Body Bar. Featuring a blend of eight purifying herb extracts, including rosemary, goldenseal and tea tree, this mild bar also delivers nourishing doses of shea butter, honey and evening primrose oil onto freshly cleansed skin.

  • Silky soft skin formula
  • Formulated without mineral oil, parabens, phthalates or propylene glycol”

It’s a glycerin soap, and as a result, it has that smooth glycerin feel (some might describe it as “slimy” but in a good way LOL). And it’s very hydrating, a great winter soap for those of us with dry skin. But it washes clean, so it’s a good choice for any type of skin.

I like the scent. It’s not super-lemony scented, but it’s a nice fragrance. It’s big, almost 5 oz./140g. Thankfully, it’s not one of those soaps that melts away to nothing quickly. Instead, it is lasting a long time, and for the money, it should. It cost $10, and is available at Nordstrom.com, Ulta.com, Crabtree-evelyn.com and beauty.com and their retail counterparts as well as gift stores. It’s made in the US.

Do you have a favorite Crabtree & Evelyn soap? Do you also collect the C&E Anniversary Mugs?

  1. Hi Allison: I was a devotee of Crabtree and Evelyn back a ways when there were stores closer to me. I wonder if anyone remembers a pot pourri called Marioca , discontinued long ago. It was a delirious blend of floral and spice, that took me to beautiful places. I miss it so!

    1. I wish I knew about Marioca, Miriam! It sounds like it would have been right up my alley. I used to use Summer Rain from C&E. Don’t you hate it when they discontinue things you love? And then they closed the stores in Burlington & in the Copley mall in Boston, too. 🙁 Thanks so much for your comment, Miriam. I hope maybe someone will remember Marioca 🙂

  2. C&E closed all the stores near my town some years ago and they fell completely off my radar for a time. I’ve always enjoyed their citron type scents though, and anything with a straight lavender smell. They also used to have a spray that was a really soft dried roses scent. I can’t even remember what it was called, it’s been so long.
Your mug there is really pretty. I like the art nouveau feel. 🙂

    1. Thanks, Rach! That mug is one of my faves. It does seem Art Nouveau-ish! Was the spray you used called Damask Rose, by any chance? I think whoever bought the company has kind of mismanaged it and missed the boat on the consumer’s interest in all things bath and body.

  3. Oh my gosh! I must smell this!!! This is my kind of fragrant combination, I’m not much of a soap bar fan but if they have a liquid version I feel it’ll be hard to resist! 🙂

    1. Yes, they do, Helene. They have a shower gel! It’s lovely and subtle and doesn’t leave behind a scent which is fine with me. And thanks for the info on Guerlain Meteorites vs Hourglass Ambient Lighting. I will try out the Guerlain 🙂 Hockey in 4 years!!

    1. It is a nice, very hydrating glycerin soap, Amber! I love to try different soaps. The citrus scent has been nice for winter 🙂
