My Gloss48.com Haul

As if I need more enabling when it comes to shopping for beauty products! I recently fell for the beauty site, Gloss48.com. Gloss48 shares the best in indie beauty, gathering new, independent and cult brands. Although there are plenty of big brands that I love, I find myself drawn to the up-and-comers created by entrepreneurs looking to introduce the next big thing. So Gloss48 is perfect for me! In addition to selling brands I love discovering, they have a treasure trove of videos: tutorials and just fun stuff.

Lucky me! I got to try out a few products that were new to me from Gloss48.

Beauty For Real Light Up Lipgloss

Are you familiar with Beauty For Real? BFR is known not only for its great makeup but for its innovative, “on the go” style packaging that makes it easy to apply makeup anywhere!

I received the new Beauty For Real Light Up Lipgloss in Light My Fire that is being introduced right now on Gloss48.com. It comes in a very portable, pocket size, chic rectangular gloss tube (can something be a tube if it’s rectangular?).

Light My Fire Lipgloss

On one side of the tube is a small mirror that’s plenty big enough to apply gloss to your lips. And there’s a bright little LED light on the inside of the doe-foot wand that you can turn on to see what you’re doing if you’re applying your gloss, say, in the back of a taxi or in a dark club! How cool is that? The light is focused on the tip of the applicator so you can perfectly apply gloss to your pout. You can also use that light as a little flashlight in a pinch, e.g. to see where to put the key in the lock when you’re coming home late and forgot to turn on the outside light, lol.

Not only is Light My Fire a gorgeous shade of cherry red lipgloss, it’s a lip plumper too. It contains peppermint oil that has a plumping effect. Because I am one of the 5 people on earth whose lips are sensitive to peppermint oil, I apply this beautiful red gloss over my favorite lip hydrator and protector.

BFR’s Light My Fire Light Up Lipgloss goes on sheer but can be built up for more coverage.

Light My Fire lipgloss

I sometimes wear it over a red lipstick to add some gloss and plump up my lips. It is not sticky, it’s quite long-lasting, and it has a minty scent because of the peppermint oil. It also contains goodies like green tea and grape seed extracts for anti-aging benefits as well as avocado oil and finally marine collagen for plumping!

BFR Light Up Lipgloss is priced at $22, and I believe there are 16 shades in the lipgloss line. Beauty For Real also has lip cream, lipliner, mascara, nail polish, and cheek tint in its lineup, and at least some have innovative on the go packaging, too. All are paraben-free and packed with skin-loving, plant derived antioxidants, essential oils, and vitamins. This is a brand that is definitely a must if you’re out and about a lot.

Ingredients: polyisobutene, hydrogenated polyisobutene, isostearyl neopentanoate, petrolatum, menthone gilycerin acetal, hydroxystearic acid, phenoxyethanol. silica silylate, fragrance, flavor, camellia sinesis (green tea) leaf extract, persea gratissima (avocado) oil, vitis vinifera (grape) seed extract, carthamus tinctorius, aloe barbadensis leaf extract, ascorbyl palmitate (vitamin c), tocopheryl acetate (vitamin e), pentaerythrityl tetraisosterarate, silica dimethyl silylalte, sodium chondroitin sulfate, atelocollagen (marine collagen), may contain: mica, titanium dioxide, calciumsodium borosilicate, iron oxides, red 6 lake, red lake 7, titanium dioxide, carmine, fluorophlogopite, yellow 5 lake, titanium dioxide, red 6, tin oxide, red 28 lake, yellow 6 lake.

Senna Cosmetics Lip Lacquer

Also in my box of goodies, I found Senna Lip Lacquer in Blush Wine, the perfect nude-coppery-wine shade for redheaded me. It’s very shiny and may have just a touch of shimmer to it too. Here it is on its own, but I also love wearing it over a nude lipstick for shine and added moisture.

Senna Lip Lacquer is also applied with a long doe-foot wand, and it has a vanilla, almost caramel scent/flavor when first applied that dissipates immediately (but I liked it!). It is not sticky. I’m wearing it today. It’s been on for 4 hours so far and it’s still going strong. It’s very moisturizing which makes sense since it contains shea butter, grape seed oil, jojoba oil and mango seed butter infused with mega vitamins. It feels great on my lips!

Senna Lip Lacquer comes in a traditional round tube but it has a very pretty, girly, curlicue design on the tube. I believe there are 4 other shades in addition to Blush Wine. The price for Senna Lip Lacquer is $20 for 0.14 fl. oz. I seriously love it!

Lift Lab Skin Regeneration

The big surprise was the skincare products from Lift Lab. Although skincare is very important, I don’t usually get quite as excited about skincare as I do makeup. What a shocker!

I received two deluxe sample size products from Lift Lab, a brand I wasn’t familiar with: Purify + Clarify, anti-aging cleanser and exfoliating detox mask, and Lift + Moisture, a moisturizer. I was absolutely blown away by how much I love them both!

Purify + Clarify, Lift + Moisturize

I used Purify + Clarify as a detox mask the first time I tried it. I used about a pea size amount of the cream that I applied to my face (I wish I had put it on my neck too). I left it on for about 10 minutes, though the directions say 5 minutes is enough. It has a few small exfoliating grains in it, too. I washed it off with warm water, and my skin was so soft, so smooth and so moisturized that I couldn’t believe it. My skin had a “protected” feeling as if I didn’t need moisturizer…but I followed up by applying Lift + Moisturize that has the most lovely, light, non-greasy but highly moisturized feeling. I’ve used it for several days now, and I love it even more. It does not have SPF so it is necessary to apply a separate SPF or makeup with SPF for daytime use.

This is what Gloss48 has to say about Lift Lab Skin Regeneration products:

After studying plants and animals in the Arctic, scientists discovered a unique protein that allowed organisms to survive in the harsh sub-zero climate. They were able to isolate, purify, and patent this protein, named the Cell Protection Protein. This miracle ingredient was proven to protect cells from destructive chemical imbalances and harsh UV rays, improve skin’s moisture balance, and boost the skin’s natural regeneration process by allowing skin cells to produce more of their own proteins that provide protection and growth.”

I’m convinced. I’m saving up to buy these products after I use up my samples because I don’t know how I’ll get along without them. My skin literally feels like velvet!!

The full-size Purify + Clarify is $65 for 4.4 fl. oz., and Gloss48 estimates the tube will last about 5 months. The full-size Lift + Moisturize is $145 for 1.7 fl. oz. Although I received my Lift + Moisturize in a tube, the full-size comes in a jar which surprised me. Why not put it in a tube especially since it is not a thick, heavy cream?? Oh well, I love it anyway!

Lift Lab Skincare is parabens-free and cruelty-free.

I just got an email from Gloss48 that Lift Lab Skincare is 40% off this week! Pounce on this one. I know I will.

    1. Thank you for reading the post, Leelo! The Lift Lab products have truly stolen my heart. I just got an email that they’re 40% off this week, and I am going for it. They are the best!

    1. You should, Tina. It’s such a unique product that would make a wonderful gift! In fact, it’s going in my Early Holiday Gift Picks post later this week 🙂

  1. The led lip gloss light is a must have. I was in a dark restaurant and wanted to put on a little lipstick/gloss before leaving, but it was so dark – I had to go to the rest room to see .. lol.

    Monica.

    1. They are wonderful glosses! So different from each other, and I love them for different reasons! I agree with you, Erika, I also want #alltheglosses 😉 But oddly enough, I really fell hard for the skincare products from Lift Lab!

    1. Gio, I have read so many Senna reviews that you have done, and I have wanted to try their products for a while. I just love the shade of this gloss and how hydrating it is!

    1. Carly, they work best if you start using them or almost any moisturizer when you’re young and use them religiously. I can attest to the fact that they stave off wrinkles and sagging skin. Later on, anti-aging creams or a good moisturizer is a must to keep your skin hydrated, to make it look more plumped, and to reverse what is reversible in older skin. As you can probably tell, I am a big fan! Thanks so much for commenting!

    1. I love the Senna gloss too, Aleya! It’s so moisturizing, and the color really suits me. But for me, the Lift Lab Skincare is just incredible. I have tons of skincare products that I really like, but these two have blown me away. I think I’m going to buy them both with the 40% code that came in my email today. I can’t resist. 🙂

    1. As a matter of fact, I was just going through the brand list looking for something, and I was blown away by the number of non-mainstream brands that I love!

    1. Thanks for letting me know, Nidia. I’ll check those links again. That was Skimlinks getting in there and screwing things up. I don’t know how to disable Skimlinks on a single post. But I’ve changed it and put in the links to Lift Lab on Gloss48. There is a 40% off sale going on this week!
