Gabriel Cosmetics Zuzu Luxe Peep Show Palette: Glam Holiday Look

eyeshadow

The holidays are definitely here, and earlier this week I attended my first holiday party with lots more on the calendar. And just in time, I was given the opportunity to try Gabriel Cosmetics Zuzu Luxe Peep Show Palette, a very holiday-oriented eye and cheek palette.

Back in the spring, I purchased my first Gabriel Cosmetics product, Gabriel lipstick in Rosewood, a MLBB shade. One of the things I love about Gabriel Cosmetics is that they are natural, and they also have an organic product line. When it comes to lipstick especially, I feel so much better using a natural brand. Here’s my review in case you missed it!

Zuzu Luxe Peep Show Palette

Because I love the lipstick so much, I jumped at the chance to try the Zuzu Luxe Palette. First, the palette itself is very eye-catching. It comes in a lightweight but sturdy, platinum compact that looks fabulous!

Inside, there’s a nice big mirror.

And it’s a great combination of products in one palette:

  • 4 eyeshadow shades
  • translucent finishing powder
  • blush.

The shades all really say holiday to me. Gabriel describes the palette this way: “Peep Show is an exhibition of color; sultry nudes, sizzling gold and a burst of color for your cheeks, the translucent powder leaves your skin flawless.”

Peep Show Shadow Colors

  • Amber – Sizzling Gold
  • Toasted – Warm Brown
  • Velvet – Deep Brown
  • Nude – Neutral Ivory

They all have a satin finish with a slight, festive shimmer.

Peep Show Powder Color

  • Translucent – sheer setting powder that leaves skin with a flawless finish

Peep Show Blush Color

  • Bitten – neutral red

Here are the swatches in natural light.

The second photo was taken in the direct sunlight so you can see a little bit of the shimmer that you get especially from Nude and Amber.

Like other products from Gabriel Cosmetics, the Zuzu Luxe Palette is mineral makeup with sunscreen from the titanium dioxide in the formula.

It is a must that you apply these mineral shades over primer. In my swatches, I used Milani Eye Primer. I packed on the color, and even the Nude shade definitely showed up well on my lids, though the shade looks very light in my swatches.

My Holiday Glam Look

I pulled out my Eylure Naturalites Natural Volume false eyelashes and put together a glam holiday look using the fabulous Zuzu Luxe Peep Show Palette. Of course, the falsies were playing hard to get today. Although these are lightweight lashes that I can usually apply without much trouble, they took me forever to get on, grrrrr! But I finally prevailed.

I applied Urban Decay Anti-aging Eye Primer first. On my lids, I used Nude and Amber, and I applied Toasted in the crease and in the V. I used Velvet as an eyeliner along my lashline. There was no fallout in the palette or during application. The shades blended well.

The Translucent sheer setting powder gave me a lovely finish with a slight glow. I can see me using this powder often.

Bitten, the blush, requires a very light hand. I applied it with my blush brush, and it was too much. I used my Beauty Blender to remove some of the color. Next time, I’ll apply it with a fan brush instead. But it is a very pretty, glam shade, perfect for a night out.

To finish off my holiday glam look, I lined my lips with Milani Color Statement Lip Liner in 02 True Red and then filled in with Milani Intense Liquid Lipstick in Red Extreme.

Now, I’m all ready to go. But tonight, unfortunately, I have nothing on the agenda! I’m heading down to the basement to jog on my treadmill, lol! Maybe I’ll take off the false eyelashes.  😉

The Gabriel Cosmetics Zuzu Luxe Palette is priced at $45, and I think it gives you a lot of bang for your buck. It comes with two small brushes that you can certainly use if you don’t have your own with you. For more information or to purchase on the Gabriel Cosmetics website, click here. Gabriel Cosmetics is also sold at Whole Foods, though they don’t always carry the entire product line. In addition, Gabriel Cosmetics and the Zuzu Luxe Palette is gluten-free, vegan, and cruelty-free with the Leaping Bunny logo on the compact. And it’s made in the U.S.

Have you tried any makeup from Gabriel Cosmetics? If not, you really should!

    1. Lola, you are always the best! thank you. I think it’s a fun palette because it’s an interesting mix of shades all in one place. And I love the look of the compact itself!

    1. Especially for lipsticks, you should check out Gabriel Cosmetics since they really are “better for you” makeup! And it’s sold at Whole Foods so could be nearby

    1. Kimmi, I think it’s a brand you would like. It’s cruelty-free, vegan, gluten-free, natural, and has an organic line too. Many mineral based products. Here, it’s sold on their website and at Whole Foods and other health food stores, natural goods stores.

    1. Thank you, Norah! The pigmented red blush is a departure for me, but I like it for an evening look. And the gold along with the traditional neutrals is great 🙂

    1. I was surprised how much I like the gold, Monica. It would be a good weekend getaway palette: use the neutrals alone during the day and add the gold at night. The blush is a little problematic because it is very pigmented and very red. Maybe mixing it with the translucent powder or the nude shadow would make it lighter for daytime?

    1. I agree, Bitten is pretty and it is very outside my comfort zone…but I’m enjoying it for an evening look especially with the red lip! Thanks Brooke!

    1. I don’t think Gabriel Cosmetics is a world-wide brand, Melissa. It’s a natural, mineral-based, cruelty-free, gluten-free brand that also has an organic makeup line.

    1. Stephanie, I discovered this brand this past spring at Whole Foods, and I liked the lipstick that I bought. I love this palette. It is such fun shades that really are great for the holidays!
