Tarina Tarantino Eye Dream Hypershadow

Tarina Tarantino Eye Dream Hypershadow compact

A few weeks ago, I got another unexpected gift from my dear friend in Ohio who definitely knows my taste in makeup! She’s the kind soul who sent me the Tarina Tarantino Dollskin Cheek blush that I adore and reviewed a while back, and she added to my TT collection by sending me one of the Eye Dream Hypershadow singles in the gray shade named Chain. Look at these two cuties together. They’re smiling!

Here is the eye shadow:

Here’s how Sephora describes the TT shadow singles:

“An exclusive, pressed-eyeshadow formula with high-intensity pigment payoff. What it does:These bold shadows with hyper pigmentation come in matte and variety of shimmer/pearl, glitter versions. Jet Mill Technology is used to pulverize formula into the smallest particle, which gives shadows their velvety texture. The maximum pigment load, 20-50 percent more pigment with less binder, produces the rich color payoff that is sure to get you noticed.”

The adorable packaging is pretty much the same, thank goodness, as the packaging for the Tarina Tarantino blush but smaller. I love the girly bejeweled look! According to Sephora, the 26 crystal gems are hand-placed on the jewelry inspired case. Wow.

Chain is a medium gray satin that’s perfect for bringing out the blue in my blue-gray eyes.

I’ve used it both as a crease and V shade and also all over my lid. The pix I’m showing here are the all over lid look.

I find Tarina Tarantino Eye Dream Hypershadow easy to work with. I haven’t found that there’s any fallout or mess. It’s buttery and blendable. It has a velvety finish. I always wear eye shadow over primer, and this shade lasted forever on my lids with no creasing or fading. I’ve worn it for 10 hours with no issues.

The Hypershadows were introduced by Tarina Taratino about 5 years ago. There were 24 shades in the line that included mattes, satin shimmers and glitters. Now, I’m not sure what the availability actually is. On the TT website, they are selling 4 shades (grass green, violet, squash, and black), and Chain is not one of them. Each case contains 0.09 oz./2.5 g. They do not contain parabens. They are cruelty-free. The price is $19.00. Made in Canada. More available are the shadow duos for the same price.

Ingredients may include: Mica, zinc stearate, dimethicone, squalane, lauroyl lysine, silica, glyceryl caprtlate, nylon-12, hydrogenated lecithin, pearl powder, trimyristin, potassium

    1. Thank you so much, Erika! Grey always seems to bring out the blue. I was a little worried that this was too dark, but I like it a lot. Gonna try it with silver for an evening look one of these days. And the packaging, adorable!

  1. It looks beautiful on you! It’s difficult to find eye shadows that don’t crease or have fallout. I’m going to the TT website now.

    1. The Tarina Tarantino Dream Eye Hypershadow really didn’t have any fallout nor did it crease (I wore it over primer, of course). It is very smooth, velvety and definitely pigmented! I’m curious about trying one of the duos now 🙂

    1. Yes, she is a wonderful person, and extremely generous! And we’ve never met in person. Hopefully some day. Even if the products were such great, I’d just love the packaging! Luxe and girly!

    1. Yes, I should have mentioned that they’re CF in my post. Thank you for the reminder, Jen!! I think I did last time. I’ll add it coz it’s definitely important!

    1. Thank you, Julie! You are sweet, but your gorgeous brown eyes are stunning. I didn’t know that Sephora dropped TT entirely, but you’re right! I thought it was still sold sephora.com, but no more 🙁 Well, thankfully there’s the TT website and also I hear that TT is often on sale at Hautelook several times a year. Sorry to hear that Soap & Glory is gone from Sephora, too. Boo hoo

  2. I’m a big fan of TT. I just ended a giveaway for one of their palettes and I hope the winner loves it as much as I do. Hautelook is the best place to buy the line. It comes up about 5 times a year and the prices are fabulous.

    1. Thanks for that tip, Marcia! I’ll be on the lookout for TT on Hautelook from now on. After trying this pigmented single, I’d love to buy one of TT’s palettes, especially on sale 🙂

  3. Such a beautiful gift! I like how the two palettes together are “smiling”. You are absolutely right in that this shade brings the blue out in your eyes. Just stunning. 🙂

    1. Isn’t that smile just the cutest thing? I love the TT packaging. Thank you, Natalie! I think Chain is a great shade for me. So lucky to get it!

    1. I’m sad that Sephora dropped TT. But I’ll keep my eyes open for it on Hautelook. I really like the eyeshadow and blush I’ve tried so far.

    1. The liner sounds lovely! I wish TT was still available to Sephora. I’d love to be able to see the products and the adorable packaging before buying them, but I’m hoping it’ll be on Hautelook soon.

  4. Wowza! That shade looks so much better on you than me. I am jealous. I figured it would look amazing with your eye color but this just is not fair!!! 😉 I am still trying to unwind but I had to comment. I just got back about a hour ago from an Eagles concert. It was such a good show but the traffic was insane. It was definitely an once in a lifetime show for me. It was on my husband’s bucket list to see them someday. Now he can check one thing off his list. ha ha

    1. Thank you, Laura! I think TT’s Chain is very impressive! The pigmentation is amazing, and the shade definitely does make my eyes look bluer. I love it! So glad you got to go to the Eagles concert 🙂 Jeff got to hear them last summer, I think it was, and he really enjoyed it. The friend who invited him to the concert knew some of the band members, so he got to meet some of the guys afterwards. He thought they were great. So happy you got to do something fun!!

    1. Thanks, Kristina! I love it, and surprisingly, I don’t have this exact shade. It’s just different enough from my other lighter grays or real silver or blacks plus it’s lovely to apply.

  5. I love the shade and definitely a good prospect for smokey eyes. It looks pigmented on swatch. I admit the packaging is adorable but I just love the shadow in the pan much more. xo

    1. That’s good, Sharon, that you’re not swayed by cute packaging, lol! And yes, the shadow in the pan, in the swatch but especially on my eyes is really pigmented. At this stage of the game, I can’t really wear a smokey eye but it would certainly be great for that use
