So many body lotions and lip balms have been coming my way lately. Word must have gotten out about my dry skin, lol.
Today, I have products from the Savannah Bee Company from Savannah, Georgia to talk to you about. As you may remember, I’m a big supporter of honeybees. In fact, I am delighted to report that I’ve seen a lot of honeybees in my lavender plants and in the oregano now that it’s in bloom!
A couple of weeks ago, I received Honey Body Lotion and three flavors of Lip Balm. The products all include some bee by-products like honey, propolis, beeswax, and royal jelly. Even though the bee by-products are toward the middle or second half of the ingredient lists, they’re in there and they’re helping to keep the bees employed!
I checked out the Savannah Bee website, and this company is the real deal. They are seriously into bees and bee by-products. The packaging even gives you fun facts about bees and bee products. In addition to body products, Savannah Bee Company sells both everyday and artisanal honeys, honey straws, raw honeycomb, BBQ sauce made with honey, books about bees, beeswax candles, teddy bears, bee-oriented clothing, and other personal care products like hand cream, hand soap, body butter etc. made with bee by-products. Wow. This is a great website for those who want to help support the bees and who like bee-related products!
Honey Body Lotion
The Honey Body Lotion is such a pleasure to use. It is just thick enough to hydrate my very dry skin, but it would also be appropriate for someone with normal skin. It is not at all runny or waxy. It’s not at all greasy. It’s the perfect consistency, IMHO. Unlike some of the organic lotions I’ve been using lately that are real heavyweights and must be worked into my skin, 100% natural Savannah Bee Honey Body Lotion is easy to apply and is quickly absorbed.
After application, my skin feels and looks very soft. In fact, it feels like there is a nice non-sticky barrier on my skin keeping the moisture in. I applied the lotion around 10am, and at 8:30pm it is still doing its job.
I received the Tupelo Honey scented Honey Body Lotion. To fit its name, it has a sweet scent that doesn’t really smell like honey to me and it’s not identifiable as anything in particular. It’s a pleasant scent, and it disappears after a few minutes on your skin. The Honey Body Lotion comes in Unscented and three other scents: Wild Blackberry, Lemongrass Spearmint and Orange Blossom. There’s also a travel size combination set (each 1.7 fl. oz.) so you can try all the scents. All of the Honey Body Lotions are priced at $12 for 8 fl. oz.

Lip Balms
The three Lip Balms – Peach, Sweet Tea and Key Lime Pie – are hydrating, protective, long-lasting, and not too heavy or waxy at all. In fact, they are very smooth and lovely to wear.
The flavors are more like scents than flavors. They don’t taste like anything. The scents are reminiscent of what they’re supposed to be, and the scent doesn’t last.
There are 7 scents in the line including the ones I didn’t receive: Mint Julep, Tupelo Honey, Earl Grey, Wild Blackberry. There are also a few collections so you can try more than one scent at a time and save money. They would make great gifts:

My Thoughts
I’m really impressed with the lotion and lip balms from Savannah Bee Company because they are easy and pleasant to use as well as effective. Body products from Savannah Bee are 100% natural and some of the products contain certified organic ingredients. They do not contain parabens or petroleum, and they are not tested on animals. They are also made in the U.S. They are sold on the Savannah Bee website, at the Savannah Bee retail stores in Savannah and in Charleston, and on Amazon.
My son got me a full size tube of this lotion in Orange Blossom when he was in Savannah on a business trip. I can attest to everything you mention. When my son gave this to me I secretly thought ” I do not need another tube of lotion.” lol Although I felt blessed for such a thoughtful son I did not use it for weeks. When I did I was ashamed for not being more grateful. I was so impressed with how well this sunk into my skin with no greasy after feel whatsoever. And you are right about the scent…it just makes the application more enjoyable. This is definitely not your average body lotion.
Laura, I’m so glad that you already know about Savannah Bee, and that your wonderful son was the one who introduced you to it! That really is a great story. You are so lucky to have a son who brings you a gift from a business trip! And like you, I was so surprised at what high quality the lotion is. I wasn’t expecting much and was blown away. I definitely want to spread the word on this one. Savannah Bee Honey Lotion and DermaMD Body Balm (a hydrating but lightweight gel cream) are by far the two best body products I’ve tried this year!

Gio, this brand of lotion that I assume is US only, is one of the two best body lotions I’ve tried in the past year. I was surprised at how much I like it!

I love all products that are either charitable or not tested on animals. I cannot use a product that a poor creature was being tested on. It’s inhuman !! Great news for bees 🙂 We have a garden that’s design to help the bees to stau in environment. We have apple trees and lots of flowers as well as hiding spots for them. Access to water etc. Stunning creatures 🙂

I agree, but I can often find lip balms I think. But body lotion is a big harder for me. Often in order to be hydrating, the lotion or butter is very very thick and hard to absorb. This one is perfect!

Of course today we tried very hard to keep away from the bees that were in the garden since my young grandson is terrified of them but it was too nice to be indoors when we could run through the sprinklers today.

The body lotion is just fabulous, not greasy, not difficult to work in, long lasting etc. I’m glad you and your grandson were outdoors playing in the sprinklers. A long time ago, this line was carried by Bath and Body Works, and I used to buy ALL their stuff. They had a Blackberry honey liquid soap that lived in my kitchen, and I had all their lip balms. I’m so glad they’re still around! Great stuff.

I noticed the notification about Savannah Bee Co products at BBW, but it was from 2009. Too bad they’re not still there ‘coz it would be convenient. Purchasing on their own website (or in their stores if you happen to live in GA or SC) seems to be the best way. I think they still have the hand soap, so that goes on my Wish List!
