Mirabella is just introducing a new Holiday 2015 collection, Jewel Thief, with two new eye palettes and two lip crayons. I was lucky enough to receive one of the new eye palettes, Diamond Deceit, and one of the lip crayons, Wanted. Plus, they sent along Blackmail, a black eye crayon.

Jewel Thief Diamond Deceit Shadow Palette

What’s particularly unique about the collection is the eye palettes:

  • the look of the palette: a 3D jewel-inspired design – two dangling jeweled earrings!
  • a “second skin” formula that combines liquid and powder for shimmery, vibrant color.

The Diamond Deceit shadow palette has 5 shimmery shades:

  • light rose gold
  • diamond white
  • silver
  • aquamarine
  • medium grey.

I like to use the rose gold shade as a highlighter as well as a shadow.

There is also a second palette called Lavender Larceny with rich purple shades that range from lilac to eggplant.

Amber Bowen, Mirabella Creative Director, gives some background on the new shadows: “We’re using a new technology that combines five shades into one 3D shadow, allowing the eyes to glow and look bejeweled for the holidays. I took my inspiration of gifting jewelry and packaging the shadows in a soft touch black compact similar to a jewelry box.”

The shadows are soft and buttery. Silicone along with olive oil-derived phytosqualene are two of the ingredients that give the shadows their smoothness. In addition, the formula hydrates the eye area which is great for over 40 gals! Pearls are what give these gorgeous shadows their iridescent finish. They are shimmery but not glittery so they are wearable for women of all ages. They do not require primer or even a brush. Amber Bowen says the best way to apply is with your fingertips! So easy.

The palette contains 7 g/0.25 oz. and is priced at $48 ($62.40 CAN). It is made in Italy.

Velvet Lip Pencils

I am in love with the Velvet Lip Pencil that I received in the shade, Wanted. Mirabella describes Wanted as a “rich berry shade”. I’d describe it was a pink/mauve. Just perfect for me, and I’ve been using it constantly since I received it.

The second shade in the collection is Vice, a neutral pink apricot.

Both lip pencils are highly pigmented and very moisturizing! They contain proprietary BerryFlux Vita, a raspberry extract, to soften lips. The lip crayon definitely goes on like velvet. It is soooooo easy to apply. On me, the lip crayon lasts for a few hours unless I eat something oily.

The Lip Crayon is priced at $25 ($32.50 CAN). It contains 2.3 g/0.081 oz. Made in Italy.

Eye Crayon: Blackmail

The eye crayon must be a new product too, even though it wasn’t listed on the press release that I received, because I wasn’t able to find it yet on the Mirabella website.

Regardless, I LOVE this eye crayon! It is the deepest black. It is so soft and buttery that it’s a breeze to apply. It smudges beautifully for a smoky eye. I like to use it to tightline my eyes.

Blackmail eye crayon is priced at $24. It contains 1.8g/0.064 oz. Made in Italy.

The Jewel Thief Collection will be available on October 1 which is next week already, Yay!

    1. That lip pencil is the best! I’m so happy they sent Wanted rather than the other shade. And the palette really is fun, and the color combo seems quite unique to me. The background shade is also lovely as a highlighter! I hope you love it too, Amber! Look forward to your review 🙂

  1. I’m a sucker for lip crayons and that one is sooo pretty! And while the eyeshadows are pretty and the palette itself is cute I prefer my shadow in pans so they’re easier to use.

    1. The Wanted lip crayon really is all that! I hear ya, Victoria, about shadows in pans rather than in all-in-one palettes. So far I haven’t had a problem using the palette, but it may be a bit more difficult once the 3Dness disappears but hopefully I’ll be able to manage it. But certainly if you like to depot, this isn’t the right palette.

  2. I’ve never heard of Mirabella! I’m not such a fan of those eyeshadow colors, but I do like the lip crayon! That’s a gorgeous shade. I prefer lighter pink-ish toned lip colors, so I feel like I’d wear that all the time!

    1. Mirabella is a new-ish brand of mineral makeup, used by professionals and sold in salons/spas and online. I love everything I’ve tried from them so far. The lip crayon is fabulous. I haven’t stopped wearing it since I got it!

  3. I turned my head the minute I saw the design on the shadow palette. What a striking combination. I’ll have to look up the purple one when it becomes available. Great shade on that lip crayon.

    1. Same here, Marcia. I’d love to see what the purple palette looks like. The collection launches on October 1, so next week I’ll be checking the website. The lip crayon really is wonderful, great shade and so velvety.

  4. I love the design of this eye shadow palette. So pretty! The shades are gorgeous too. I’m enjoying the previews of the holiday collections. Thanks for sharing this one. 🙂

    1. The Diamond Deceit palette is so pretty and the raised jeweled earring design so innovative, I think. Yes, it’s fun to start to see the holiday makeup…but so early!
