Total Beauty’s Revlon Pacific Coast Collection

Here’s a fantastic deal for all you color lovers! Total Beauty (the beauty site, totalbeauty.com) is offering a beauty box, Total Beauty Collection Revlon Edition, featuring Revlon’s brand-y-new Pacific Coast Collection, created by Revlon’s renowned makeup artist and Artistic Director, Gucci Westman. Unlike a beauty box subscription, this is a one shot deal. And just looking at these beauties makes me want to drive down Pacific Coast Highway 1 in a convertible toward Big Sur. I’m there!

The collection includes 4 full-size (did you hear that, FULL SIZE!) Revlon products as well as the Revlon Color Story Booklet, instructions to help you create 4 new looks for Summer 2013: Paradise, Emma, Tropical, and Surfer Girl, each featuring different color combos.

I just went to my local CVS to check out the collection for myself. This little CVS was so crowded with products, they placed the Revlon display down on the lowest shelf near the floor. In spite of the bad placement, the products were picked over and only one or two left for each SKU. Saw the collection at Ulta, and again, almost nothing left in the display.

The Sea Mist eyeshadow quad is very pretty in person, and the shades are totally wearable – more subtle than the other, brighter color palette. The Trade Winds nail polish, in a new, more sophisticated looking bottle with straight sides, is a neutral beige/camel that would look great with a tan and fits well with the “naked” trend. It would provide a good neutral backdrop to the vivid lip and possibly eye color, depending on which shadows you use. Though I have something like it at home, I also liked Seashell, pale peach polish that’s not part of the Total Beauty box.

Both of the lip butter shades are new from Revlon for 2013, and I’ve heard from reliable sources that Pink Lemonade, a light pinky-peach shade (toward the left in my photo of the display), is hard to find in stores, although there was one unopened Pink Lemonade left at my CVS. The Sorbet is a vivid hot pink (two tubes in the right front in my photo of the display), and it looks perfect for summer.

The Collection is $15, and that includes free shipping. It’s called a $30 value, but I think where I shop for Revlon, 2 full size lippies, a nail polish and eyeshadow could add up to more than that. Whatever. It’s a great deal. And an opportunity to try something new for not a lot. Could be a perfect Mother’s Day gift for yourself or a mom you love. This offer is on now, and I can’t seem to find out how long it will be available. This is the link to the Revlon Collection from Total Beauty: http://www.totalbeauty.com/shops/collections/revlon

Last, I just want to call your attention to the Baby Stick that’s, unfortunately, not part of the Total Beauty box. It is sold in stores, if you can find them. They are adorable little chubby sticks that can be used as either blush or sheer lip tint. They come in hot pink and red shades, $9.45 at CVS. So cute!
