Coming Attractions: What I’m Testing Out Now

coming attractions: new skincare products I'll be trying for review, neversaydiebeauty.com

Quick announcement: congratulations to Gabrielle L. who won the Paula’s Choice RESIST Omega+ Complex giveaway! Thank you to all of you who entered, followed, liked, visited, tweeted, commented, and subscribed. I really appreciate it! I am currently trying out another Paula’s Choice treatment product, and they generously sent me a second bottle to giveaway. Stay tuned for that giveaway in a couple of weeks xo

A lot of new skincare products have come my way over the last several weeks. Frankly, I’m blown away by the changes that are constantly going on in skincare. To tell the truth, it’s hard to keep up! When it comes to skincare, it takes several weeks to test skincare in order to look for changes in my skin and to make sure there are no adverse effects. So I thought I’d give you a sneak peak into the products I’ll be doing full reviews on over the next couple of months.

I’ve received an interesting array of new products to try for a variety of brands: brands I know well and a number of brands that are new to me. Some of the products are facial skincare:

I received two very intriguing body care products that contain the kind of ingredients that you’d find in facial skincare:

  • DerMend Fragile Skin Moisturizing Formula: This body cream contains retinol and other ingredients to build up thin mature skin. I have just started using this and I’m eager to see if it will help the skin especially on my legs that has begun to look thinner and more fragile. I’m also hoping that it might help fade some of my sun damage.
  • LaDifference LDC Advanced Plumping Hand Cream: Similar to DerMend, this new hand cream is supposed to help plump older skin and make it look younger and fuller. Hope it does!

Another unique product, Busy Beauty Showerless Shave Gel – a shave gel that you can use without water. Although it’s rare that I decide to shave my legs or underarms when I’m not in the shower, I guess it could happen. Camping? No seriously, I’m sure there are times when this would be helpful. Regardless, I’m in love with the look of this product – the retro-ish packaging is adorable.

Aveda has sent me a number of haircare products recently. Aveda is on the scalp bandwagon with Purifying Scalp Cleanser and Protective Scalp Concentrate. I need to read up on these scalp products and their benefits. I always thought my shampoo helped my scalp stay healthy, but maybe there’s something I don’t know. Curious about these. Aveda also sent me several dry haircare products. Dry shampoo etc. is not for me so when I review the scalp products, I will hold a giveaway for the three “dry” Aveda products: Shampure Dry Shampoo and refill as well as Dry Conditioner.

Aveda was also kind enough to send a fabulous scented candle with the spicy herbal scent that I associate with Aveda products. I know I’ll love this.

Last but not least, I received a Hydrochic 3/4 sleeve raglan T-shirt made of fast-drying fabric that can be worn on the beach as well as in the water. It’s a sunscreen top that will help protect my already sun damaged skin from further damage. I’m eager to try this out, but it’s been so cold here in Massachusetts that beach days still seem far away. But it’s such a cute top, I’m thinking of just wearing it for sports or as an athleisure top in the meantime. More info to come.

        1. I was just wondering if any scalp products came your way. Once I received these from Aveda, it seemed like scalp products are everywhere.

  1. Morning ☕️☕️🍩🍩 I can’t wait to read your reviews on all the goodies you received. And remember it will be 5:00 o’clock everywhere really soon! It’s Friday….YAHOO 🍷🍹🍺🍻🥃🥂🍸😁 (as Andy Cohen says “Drink Responsible and don’t DRIVE!) 🙋🏻❤️

    1. Good morning to you on the left coast, DiEtta! Thank you 🙂 Yes, it’ll be 5pm and cocktail time before we know it, but I’ve still got so much to try to do today. How ’bout you? Yesterday evening, one of my friends and I did a good job on a bottle of Sauvignon Blanc – I think I need a rest today!

  2. I have the derma-E and can’t wait to try them out too. I like the raglan shirt you showed esp if it has UPF, you know I’m all for sun protection

    1. I almost wore the raglan shirt today for a walk in the woods, but I knew I was going to have to spray myself and my clothing with DEET bug spray because the deer ticks are so bad here, and I didn’t want to ruin my brand new shirt. Do you know anything that keeps away deer ticks without DEET?

  3. Oh wow,I typed up a reply and don’t know what happened to it…hmmph!lol. Anyway, I can’t wait for all the reviews, especially looking forward to see what you think of the masks. I have a leave in conditioner from Aveda that I love and have to repurchase, I like everything I’ve tried from them although I have to admit I’m not on board with the dry shampoo craze so I wouldn’t try any more of them.CONGRATULATIONS Gabrielle, great win, enjoy! 💟💖

    1. Oh sorry your comment got lost! Why do those things happen?? I meant to take pix of the Aveda overnight masks today, but things got hectic and I forgot. Tomorrow morning, I’ll do it and then give them a go. I also just received a masque from a new brand, Lauria, I think, called Lemon Tart Exfoliating Mask, and I’m dying to try it. I’m sure it’s going to smell great. Plus that will have a giveaway so I hope I love it. Aveda has been sending a bunch of haircare, but I’m not a fan of dry anything so hopefully someone will be. The scalp products are intriguing, but frankly, I never knew I needed scalp products – my scalp seems fine 😉 But I’ll give them a go. Another blogger was telling me she does have scalp problems so maybe I’m just lucky that I don’t. BTW, there will be another Paula’s Choice giveaway in a week or two for a AHA treatment product (it’s either 5% or 8%, can’t remember) that I’ve been using at night. Have a great weekend, Laura! Hope you have some time to relax 🙂
      ve use now at night

    1. Thanks, Gloria! Another Paula’s Choice giveaway will be coming up in a week or two, and I just received a new Lemon Tart Exfoliating Mask that will also have a giveaway. Stay tuned, and thanks for participating 🙂

  4. You’ve got some wonderful products on board. I’m eager to learn about the Paula’s Choice in particular. Love the new DermaE packaging.

    1. I agree on the DERMA E packaging, so pretty. The new Paula’s Choice AHA treatment product, so far so good! Giveaway with that one soon 🙂

      1. Camping is the first thing that comes to mind! It would also be good for after the shower if you realize you missed a spot, that way you could easily take care of it without having to re-wet the area

        1. Thank you, Lisa! I really wanted to try this, but once I got it, I was thinking when could I use it. Great suggestions, thank you 🙂
