LovelySkin.com: Great Retailer for Mother’s Day or Any Day!

I discovered LovelySkin.com a couple of years ago while searching for the best price on a skincare product that I wanted to buy.

My order was filled quickly, there’s free shipping always, I got a 20% off discount that they send with each purchase, and I was completely satisfied with my shopping experience. In addition, LovelySkin.com sends samples with each purchase, and gives out reward points that accrue as discounts. Since then, LovelySkin.com is one of the first retailers that I turn to when I shop online.

When I got back from my trip, I was delighted to find a box waiting for me from LovelySkin.com. Inside was a makeup bag with 14 skincare  travel size samples!

Truth be told, I wish I got this goody bag before my trip. When I got to Amsterdam, I realized that I forgot to bring facial cleanser and neck cream with me, and both were in my new LovelySkin.com bag. So I washed my face with a random bar soap for 10 days – I survived 😉

I haven’t had a chance to try all of the skincare samples yet, although I have tried several. Because Mother’s Day is coming up in about 10 days, I wanted to either introduce you to or remind you about LovelySkin.com even though I can’t yet review all of the goodies.

Here’s what came in my goody bag. I’ll start with the products that I’ve had a chance to try out so far, about half of the samples:

  • SkinCeuticals Resveratrol B E Antioxidant Night Concentrate: an almost odorless amber colored gel that I use as an antioxidant-rich nighttime serum. So far so good.
  • Replenix Neckletage: You know that I’ve been loyal to StriVectin TL Advanced Neck Cream for a couple of years now, but I must admit, I am really liking Replenix Neckletage, a medium weight white unscented lotion that makes the skin on my neck feel terrific. It supports collagen and elastin production, and it’s very hydrating. It may even be a little less expensive than StriVectin, and I like the much lighter weight lotion for a change.
  • Jane Iredale LipDrink SPF 15 Lip Balm: I got a cute, tiny tube of Jane Iredale MLBB pink sheer lip balm. It’s gives my lips a nice flush as well as some needed moisture. I like the SPF 15 especially now that I’m outdoors more.

  • NeoStrata Skin Active Tri-Therapy Lifting Serum: I have been wanting to try this lifting serum from NeoStrata, one of my favorite skincare brands, for a few months so I was happy to find this sample in the bag. It’s a tiny bottle with a dropper that contains clear, thick liqui-gel. I press a couple of drops into my skin twice a day. Too soon to see any results, but I’m glad to get to try it out.
  • FixMySkin Healing Lip Balm Vanilla with 1% Hydrocortisone: When I saw hydrocortisone on the label, I assumed that the little twist up applicator I received was a body product. I had never heard of using hydrocortisone to heal chapped lips, but after using it for a couple of days, it works!! It’s a “chapstick” type lip balm, and truthfully, I didn’t taste or smell vanilla, (I think they sent me the Unflavored version which is fine with me). It works and that’s what I care about. I will most likely buy this when I finish up the sample.
  • GlyDerm Gentle Face Cleanser: This was the cleanser sample that I wish I had had to take with me to Amsterdam. It’s definitely a gentle, white, unscented lotion that feels very soothing. I like it!

I also received 8 more samples that I’ll try soon:

  • La Roche-Posay Lipikar Balm AP+ Intense Repair Moisturizing Cream
  • Dermablend Makeup Dissolver Face & Body Powerful Makeup Remover: Not sure I’ll need this on my body, but I’m definitely eager to try it to remove my face makeup!
  • Neocutis Micro*Night Riche Rejuvenating Balm
  • Erno Laszlo Transphuse Eye Refiner
  • Koh Gen Do Cleansing Spa Water: I’m curious about this packet. Is it micellar water? I’ll let you know.
  • Dermalogica Multivitamin Power Serum
  • Vichy Idealia Serum
  • SkinMedica Dermal Repair Cream

  1. I’m a sucker for gifts with purchase and would stock up just to get this amazing goodie bag!! P.S. I always forget some part of my skincare routine when I travel. LOL!

  2. This is such a great way to learn about lines that you’ve read about and wanted to try. Lovely Skin is a lovely site with brands I admire!

  3. Some amazing brands! I love getting samplers like this because it introduces me to new brands and products because I get in such a rut when it comes to skin care. I use what works and don’t want to stray from it unless it’s put in my face…or on my face 😉

  4. I love this bag of samples! I’ve never heard of this site, I have to check it out. Also, I’m a big fan of Jane Iredale LipDrink!

    1. Judy, LovelySkin.com really is a great option for online skincare shopping. They have 20% off very frequently and free shipping, so I often bypass Sephora’s and Ulta’s points if I need skincare products because it’s a better option.

  5. Years ago I went with skinstore.com, now I almost exclusively use lovelyskin.com (with the very occasional skinstore or dermstore.com). I’m a huge fan of clinical products! My favs….SkinCeuticals: physical fusion UV defense tinted for both face and eyes, CE Ferulic and Phloretin CF, Metacell renewal B3, triple lipid restore, lha cleanser; SkinMedica: dermal repair, Lytera, HA5, retinols, total defense + repair sunscreen, rejuvenative moisturizer; Replenix: restorative nighttime bio therapy, power of three cream/serum, ultimatte sunscreen, and the neckletage seems nice; Citrix vitamin c antioxidant sunscreen spf 40; and Elta MD SPF 46 (the one with niacinimide). I’m about to try iSClinical super serum advanced and white lightening serum. I LOVE lovely skin’s GWPs, discounts, samples in the mail, and customer service.

The only think that I feel bad about is not supporting my local dermatologist by buying from them- they can’t offer the same discounts. Best of luck on your samples. There is lots to try and lots to love!

    1. Wow, Kirsten, thank you so much for weighing in on LovelySkin.com and your favorites from their impressive skincare inventory! You listed a lot of products that I haven’t tried yet and should add to my wish list. I need to try more from SkinCeuticals. I couldn’t get past the CE ferric & Phloretin CF, but I like their foaming cleanser and one of their eye creams. From your list, the Citrix Vitamin C Antioxidant Sunscreen sounds particularly interesting to me. I’m making my way through the samples, and so far the FixMySkin 1% Hydrocortisone Lip Balm and the Neckletage are my faves, but I’ve still got a way to go.

      1. Yes, it’s true! I’m a diehard clinical skincare junkie. So I’m reordering the Citrix sunscreen now as I loved, loved my last tube. Heard about it on Dr. Cynthia Bailey’s blog. It is similar to the other mostly physical sunscreens (Elta MD, SkinMedica) but cheaper. The main reason I’m reordering is that it is water resistant in addition to being fairly cosmetically elegant. I’ve had fewer pigmentation issues while wearing it, and it’s def. due to the sunscreen hanging around longer. FYI, the Citrix Antioxidant Pads are amazing as well. I don’t use either of these as my primary antioxidant source, but I’m hoping they help.

          1. Kirsten, I’m actually drowning in skincare products right now because, as an older blogger, that’s what I receive most often. But as I mentioned, several of the products on your list sound like standouts to me. I will try the Citrix sunscreen for sure! Thanks again for all of your recommendations!

    1. Yes, I agree. I don’t know if you can buy this set of samples from LovelySkin.com or if it is just a blogger outreach gift, but I think any skincare junkie would be happy to get it!

  6. WHOA that’s a lot for a tiny bag! I’m a huge fan of samples because I never seem to know exactly what I want or what is going to wear with my skin. I’ll have to check out this site!

  7. I’m currently suffering Happy Mail Envy! I was glad to hear that you came out fairly unscathed from the bar soap saga! 😉
