Project Pan: March 2021 Beauty Empties

Another month is gone, and it’s time for the March 2021 Project Pan update.

I Bought This, PR Sample, Affiliate Links

March was an OK but not great month for me using up 8 beauty products. Here’s what I’m recycling:

Bath & Body

Aveeno Skin Relief Moisture Repair: This big tub of Aveeno Skin Relief Moisture Repair lasted for almost two months. Although the formula contains petrolatum, I really was pleased with this rich but lightweight, fragrance-free, intensely hydrating cream. It really works for me. The crepey skin look that I had from time to time in the past has been vastly diminished. Repurchase? This week, I decided to try the big pump bottle instead. So far, the two versions seem very similar. Love ’em both.

Om She Aromatherapy Mango & Orange Hand Lotion: I bought this random hand lotion as part of a hand wash/lotion set at Marshall’s in Boston a couple of years ago. It was at my kitchen sink. I used up the hand wash ages and ages ago, but the lotion lasted much longer. Repurchase? Although it was a nice set, it wasn’t special enough to seek it out again.

Dionis Goat Milk Hand Cream: I stocked up on the unscented Dionis Goat Milk Hand Cream a while back when Ulta had its 20% off sale and I needed some small purchases in order to qualify for free shipping. This was my purse hand cream. Repurchase? I will at some point because this is a really nice, greaseless but hydrating hand cream that I have bought many times over the years. Right now, I have so many travel size hand creams that I have acquired and need to use up before I buy more.

Olaplex Hair Perfector No. 3: This travel size tube of No. 3 came as part of a duo when I bought Olaplex No. 0. The way it works is apply liquid No. 0 as a primer and leave it on for at least 10 minutes. Then apply No. 3 as a pre-treatment conditioner and leave that on for at least 10 minutes. I went through the whole one ounce tube in two usage occasions. Repurchase? Yes, I liked it so much, I bought a bottle.

Skincare

City Lips Clear: You already know how much I love and use City Lips Clear! It’s my favorite lip balm and non-stinging lip plumper! Repurchase? Although I think I have another tube or two waiting in the wings even after I started a new one a couple of weeks ago, they are having a BOGO sale coming up soon, and I plan to buy two more.

City Beauty Youth Rejuvenating Cleanser: I loved this rich red gel, exfoliating but hydrating cleanser with Dragon’s Blood Superfruit. It was so fun to have a skincare product that was bright red! Repurchase? At some point I will buy it again, but now I have about a million facial cleansers waiting in the wings.

Factor Five Eye/Lash Cream: I am planning on reviewing the trio of luxury skincare products from Factor Five, so I will save the details for the review next week.

Factor Five Anti-Aging Cream: see above.

Finishing up 8 products brings me to 32 for the year so far. My goal is 120, so I have 88 to go!

  1. Some of those are so big too It would probably take me a year to finish the Aveeno. I’ll be interested in your Factor Five reviews since I’m using a product for the eyes from them that’s completely different than anything I’ve used before.

  2. I have a Dragon’s Blood Cleansing Oil I love! We are dragon twins! Using a cleansing oil took some getting used to, but now I really like it. I should try that city beauty cleanser though. Hmmm…

  3. I love reading Beauty Empties posts! I might have to try the Aveeno one. I have such dry hands, so any bit helps at this point.

  4. I have been looking at that hand creme for awhile but like you, I had so many here to use up. I ended up bringing a DOZEN to work and letting everyone pick one to have for themselves. The hand sanitizer has done a number on so many of us!
