Sunnies for the Holidays On Sale

Sunglasses are a year round thing. It took me decades to understand that. I probably could have eliminated at least a few wrinkles around my eyes if I had understood that. But now I do, and I always have sunglasses with me.

In the past, I almost never wore sunglasses when I was jogging primarily because they didn’t stay on. They bounced around or slipped down my nose or were just generally annoying. But recently, I discovered that there are sunglasses designed for runners and other outdoors people.

Knockaround Sunglasses

After checking out a number of brands, I recently bought a pair of Knockaround Sunglasses. What attracted me was the fact that they carried sunglasses that came in a smaller size for smaller faces as well as normal sizes. Plus they are made to stay on.

I chose the style, Seventy-Nine, in the two-tone frame colorway, On the Rocks. The Seventy-Nine style is a knock-off on the RayBans’ Wayfarer Style, and On the Rocks has the arm pieces in faux tortoise-shell like my RayBans. The front piece is a cool-toned amber.

Importantly, the lenses are polarized with UV 400 for added eye protection. And the lenses are impact resistant as well as FDA approved.

Because I didn’t opt to buy the hard case that cost extra (I should have), they came in a kelly green soft drawstring pouch. The sunglasses themselves are as light as a feather, so lightweight that they actually surprised me.

The fit was perfect for me: 49mm Lens | 18mm Bridge | 142mm Temple. Frame: 139mm Width | 46mm Height.

At first, they were just a smidgeon too tight. After wearing them a few times, they adjusted to my head and are indeed perfect. They don’t bounce or slide down when I wear them jogging, hiking or working in the yard.

If On the Rocks isn’t your style, there are lots of other styles and colors to choose from including goggles for skiing.

Holiday Sale

Presently, Knockaround Sunglasses (there are a couple of exclusions) are 30% off their normally modest prices. And they have free shipping and free returns on all purchases.

My On the Rocks sunnies are sale priced at $23.80. At that price, they’re less expensive than the Foster Grants I bought last year at CVS, and they fit me much better.

So, if you need a new pair of sunglasses or want to gift someone new sunnies, check out Knockaround!

  2. I also need some suitable for running. I end up wearing a hat but seriously the sun blinds me at this point. I don’t really go outside unless I have sunglasses on!

  3. I desperately need sunglasses since mine are 2 prescriptions old. I’ve got an eye exam in January and once I know the new RX then I’ll get some. I wish I could buy beauties like this though. They look great on you.
