In December, I was in a tea drinking mood. As usual, I saw an ad on Facebook that tempted me. A company based in Hong Kong called Teatsy was advertising a glass mug with a removable infuser that looked very appealing. I went for it.

“Snowy Sunshine” is a Japanese style high borosilicate glass tea mug with a removable infuser.
I didn’t realize that traditional glass is made from soda and lime. Borosilicate glass is a special kind of glass which incorporates two chemicals in high concentration: boron trioxide and silica. These safe and environmentally-friendly chemicals make borosilicate glass more heat resistant than other forms of glass. That’s important for a tea cup!
The infuser holds loose tea. Since I don’t always drink loose tea, I can remove the infuser and use a tea bag instead. Very handy.
The mug holds 400 ml which is much more than a cup, 1.6 cups. I like that it has a cover to keep the tea hot. Plus, there’s a wooden handle and a wooden coaster in walnut or oak that goes along with the mug.

Love this cup. Big fan of drinking hot tea in glass. Right now I am using a heavy beer mug. And it keeps my tea warm for a while.

Okay this is really pretty! And I love that it holds more than one cup! I usually like larger cups that can hold around 2. This is perfect!
