Project Pan Empties for April 2023

NOTE: I am so sorry that this post may be repeated 2 or 3 times below. I managed to figure out how to fix the link error before I started, but for the life of me, I can’t figure out why it keeps repeating. More problems, grrrrrr!

In mid-March, my two part Project Pan post included 24 empties. This Project Pan actually includes empties from the latter part of March as well as April. Just looking at the full bag, I would say I did pretty darn well. Let’s take a look.

Bath & Body

Hey Honey Walk the Walk Propolis Foot & Heel Repair Cream: I got a sample of this foot cream in an Ipsy bag ages ago, I think, and I liked it so much I bought two tubs of it. This was the first tub. I use it at night with socks. It’s made with propolis from bees. It’s good stuff. Recommendation: If you like using foot cream, this one will give you very soft feet.

Farmhouse Fresh Moon Dips Back to Youth Ageless Mousse: When I was in the hospital in January, my friend brought me some skincare and body care products from her stash because I didn’t bring anything with me. I was there long enough that I needed some items. How delightful (at an undelightful time) that she brought me FHF Mood Dips Back to Youth Ageless Mousse! Moon Dips is a peptide-enriched skin mousse, and it smells divine. It came in a 2 oz. tube (a travel size, I believe?) rather than the 8 oz. jar I have at home. It was very handy. Moon Dips Back to Youth Ageless Mousse has been a long time favorite. Recommendation: Since I already have a jar of it, I don’t need it yet, but I highly recommend it for normal to dry body skin.

Spongelle Freesia Pear Flower Buffer: I’ve fallen in love with the Freesia Pear body wash fragrance in the Spongelle body buffers! The buffers are not scratchy, they don’t build up bacteria like poofs and loofahs, and the make the shower gel makes lots of lather. I’m addicted. Recommendation: I couldn’t resist, I just bought 4 more buffers including another Freesia Pear! If you like fragranced bath and body items, I recommend these.

Sol de Janeiro Beija Flor Elasti-Cream, travel size: A year ago during the Sephora VIB sale back when I was a VIB, I bought a travel size jar of Sol de Janeiro’s collagen boosting Beija Flor Elasti-Cream to try out. I was hoping it would help make my skin, especially my upper arms, more taut and smooth. The scent is strong, so if you don’t like fragrances, this is definitely not for you. Although I love the scent of their original Bum Bum Cream, I don’t love this scent as much. It’s described as “a fruity, floral scent with Brazilian jasmine, pink dragonfruit and ocean air. They call the fragrance Cheirosa 68. The cream is definitely richer than Bum Bum Cream, and contains plant squalane for hydration. It also contains cacay oil (a retinol alternative) and vegan collagen to plump skin. Recommendation: I’m on the fence about whether to repurchase. Because the scent is so strong and to me, cloying, I haven’t used it repeatedly and that’s a problem. Their research showed that 3 applications a day for 9 days yielded results including increased collagen levels. I couldn’t possibly apply it 3 times/day. So if you like the scent, than it just might work for you.

Derma E Vitamin E 12,000 IU Cream: Derma E Vitamin E Cream also has a scent, but it’s a clean, fresh scent. And it fades on contact. The cream is a rich, white cream that can be used on the face or body. I’ve been using it on my body and it’s very hydrating. Recommendation: Derma E Vitamin E 12,000 IU Cream is an effective, affordable skin cream that you are apply anywhere. I recommend it.

Skincare

Bioderma Hydrabio Micellar Water: This is my millionth empty bottle of Bioderma Hydrabio. I love it. Recommendation: If you have dry skin, I recommend Hydrabio for makeup remover and cleansing.

Derma E Anti-Wrinkle Cleanser: I like Derma E liquid cleansers, and Anti-Wrinkle Cleanser is another good one. It contains Vitamin A and Glycolic Acid to help fade wrinkles. And it doesn’t dry skin. I also like the pump plastic bottle that I found great to use in the shower. Recommendation: I found Derma E Anti-Wrinkle Cleanser to be an effective and affordable cleanser. I recommend it.

Dermedicine+ Weightless Face Moisturizer SPF 25: I received this full size tube of moisturizer with SPF in one of my Ipsy bags. A rich, white cream that’s non-greasy and sinks right in, I found Dermedicine+ Weightless to be a good daytime moisturizer. It wasn’t too thick, probably because it was a combination physical and chemical sunscreen. Recommendation: As much as I enjoyed this daytime moisturizer, I wish it were at least an SPF 30, so I probably won’t repurchase.

Tatcha Luminous Overnight Memory Serum Concentrate: I adore this self-leveling, lightweight but hydrating overnight serum that brightens skin. I use the little golden spoon to scoop some concentrated serum out, apply it to my skin, and it melts in on contact. It’s one of those cool serums that levels the top of the cream by morning. It’s fun and leaves my skin glowing. Recommendation: Luckily, I bought an extra because, sadly, the product was discontinued.

Biossance Squalane + Phyto-Retinol Serum: The scent of this translucent, clean beauty serum reminds me of a product from Sulwhasoo that I loved. It’s such an odd natural scent, but I’m not sure which ingredient is responsible. I don’t think it’s either the plant squalane or the retinol, but I could be wrong. I was very sad to use up this hydrating, barrier-reinforcing, wrinkle reducing serum because I really enjoyed using it. Recommendation: Although I don’t plan to repurchase right now because I have so many serums, I would use it again in a heartbeat. It comes in a new bottle since I got mine. If you are interested, the price is almost $20 less at Amazon than the Biossance and Sephora websites.

Paula’s Choice C5 Super Boost Eye Cream: I really liked the Paula’s Choice C5 Super Boost Eye Cream, a medium/light weight peach colored cream. It comes in a pump that makes it easy to apply, while it protects the effectiveness of the formula. The peach cream does a good job camouflaging my dark circles. Recommendation: This is one of the best under eye dark circle covering cream I’ve used. If you’re looking for a dark circle cream, this is worth considering.

L’Occitane Immortelle Reset Oil-in-Serum, travel size: I received this small pump bottle serum from L’Occitane’s Immortelle Travel Set for Hanukkah from one of Jeff’s daughters. I thought this was the best and most innovative product in the set. It is a pump bottle that pumps out oil  from tiny round dissolvable beads. It’s hydrating, plumping and leaves skin looking rested and radiant. Recommendation: If it weren’t $90 for 1.6 fl. oz., I would buy this. I loved it.

Hair & Nails

Natrol Biotin Beauty Tablets 5000mcg for Hair & Nails: I’ve been using these delicious, melting tablets from Costco for years and years. Recommendation: Clearly, I recommend it!

JOICO K-PAK Color Therapy Luster Lock Treatment, travel size: Just like the Natrol, I’ve been using JOICO K-PAK Luster Lock for year and years. Recommendation: Yes, I recommend this one too. If you have coarse hair, it makes it feel silky and hydrated like a charm.

Olive and June Dry Drops: In addition to loving O&J nail polish and top coat, I also am devoted to Dry Drops. One of the reasons that I feel I don’t need their Quick Dry is that the Dry Drops work within a minute or so. Recommendation: I have another tube waiting in the wings. You should try them. They fabulous.

Makeup

Urban Decay Anti-Aging Eyeshadow Primer Potion, travel size: Like the Natrol and JOICO, I’ve been using Urban Decay AA Primer Potion for years. Recommendation: It doesn’t dry my eyelids and it makes my eyeshadow last all day/night. Who needs anything else?

City Beauty Brow Boost: As much as I had good results with Redensifying Brow Serum, it’s expensive! Recommendation: I will stick with less expensive brow serums unless this is on sale.

IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Foundation SPF 50+, Fair Light: Frankly, there’s nothing that covers dark spots better than IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Foundation. Plus, it has SPF 50. Recommendation: Although I love the coverage and sunscreen and this foundation is less thick than the IT CC Cream, I have found other foundations that are a better match for my cool undertones (though this says for cool undertones) and are a little more lightweight. Nevertheless, I may end up buying another tube for summer. This is great to wear to the beach.

Thanks for the eye primer recommendation! I’ve been using the Smashbox original 24 hour eye primer for years and it’s now discontinued. The new version is not good at all. I’m going to try the UD primer now.

    1. Thank you, Valerie, for scrolling through all of the repeats of the post to leave me a comment about Urban Decay Anti-aging Primer Potion. I know how you feel when a product that you used for a long time and really like gets discontinued. In fact, when I first started using UD AA PP, it didn’t have a doe-foot wand like it does now. Instead, it came in a squeeze tube and I preferred that. But I need an eye primer for dry eyelids and the Anti-aging version of the UD PP isn’t drying the way some other eye primers can be since they’re made to keep the eyelid oil that some people have from ruining the eyeshadow. Frankly, at this point, I’m afraid to switch to something else because my eyelids are so dry. If you decide that UD AA PP is worth a try, get the mini in case you don’t like it. 🙂

  2. Gabrielle says:

UD is absolutely my favorite eyeshadow primer.

    1. I’m glad you’re a fan of UD PP too, Gabrielle. Which one do you use? I liked it better before when it was a squeeze tube, but the anti-aging formula is still the best eye primer for me and my dry eyelids.

My favorite post of the month! Just purchased the Honey Do foot cream. So happy to read your posts. Hope that you are doing well.

    1. Thank you, Denise! xoxo This was a long one, and I can’t believe WordPress chose to repeat the post three times!! The Hey Honey Walk the Walk is a good one. I need to dig out my second jar and open it. It feels so good to put it on especially with my fuzzy socks 🙂 And thanks again for your good wishes. I am getting better slowly. I’ve been able to do some work in my garden, yay!!

      1. Denise Wertz says:

Such good news that you are able to work in your garden! Enjoy every minute.

        1. Thank you, Denise xoxo Have a good weekend 🙂

  4. MarciaF says:

I had this repeating problem several times on the blog. Besides this goof I love reading about the empties. Even though I have dry skin I prefer Bioderma in the pink bottle since it has no fragrance.

    1. Oh, I didn’t know you had the repeating problem because this is the first time it happened to me. I looked it up and supposedly it’s a coding issue, like some code got left out, but I can’t figure out what. Fortunately, subsequent posts haven’t had the same problem. And on the other topic, I didn’t realize the pink Bioderma MW was fragrance-free!
