For the last month of so, I’ve been getting ready to conduct a market research project for a new cosmetics client. The brand was new to me. It’s called essence. It was created by an American woman, but the brand is based in Germany. It’s sold all around the world, and it came to the U.S. a few years ago. The target audience is teens and young women, and it’s very affordably priced.
Just prior to my birthday a couple of weeks ago, I received a package from the company I’m working with. I opened it and found an assortment of essence products. I thought they were to use in the upcoming research, but they were for me. Woohoo! There was a treasure trove of new stuff to try, and I will turn you on to the good ones.
I found two mascaras in the assortment of products, and so far I have fallen in love with one of them, essence I ♥ Extreme crazy volume mascara. Well, I love it so much I haven’t tried the other essence mascara yet, and I have given up on the 3 prestige brand mascaras I recently purchased.
It has a weird-looking brush, unlike any other brushes I’ve tried with a little bulb-like tip, and frankly, I was skeptical. What’s amazing about I ♥ Extreme mascara is it seems to find every little eyelash toward the inner corner of the eye and the lower lashes, and the wand coats it with mascara. The end result is more lashes, thicker lasher. Incredible. Also, the brush is plastic, and I often don’t like plastic brushes. This one doesn’t feel like plastic, and it works so well that I don’t care what it’s made of. So far, it hasn’t clumped at all, not ever, and that’s what I care about.
essence I ♥ Extreme mascara is sold at Ulta, Fred Meyer stores, HEB supermarkets, and select Walgreen’s. Made in Italy. The price is $4.99 for 0.40 fl. oz./12 ml. It’s a steal!

I ♥ Extreme is ophthalmologically tested. It does not appear to be waterproof, though they have other mascaras that are. Nevertheless, the mascara does not come off on my cheeks. It definitely lasts all day, more than 12 hours. essence products are not tested on animals.

Definitely gonna try this! I’m still searching for the perfect mascara and I hope this one is it, especially at 5 bucks/tube!! Thanks for the heads-up.
Ah, the holy grail: mascara perfection! Good luck with that, Kim! 😉 This one may not be perfect, but it’s pretty darn close for me. I’ve been using this for 2 weeks, and honestly, I have not used my pricey mascaras at all nor the CoverGirl Lash Blast that got such good reviews. This wand works so well at finding all my little blond lashes, I <3 it!!

Thanks for the bday wishes, Dima! My birthday is just after your daughter’s whose name is similar to mine. I’ve been busy traveling a lot lately and will be again during the next 2 weeks. It is a very good and inexpensive mascara. Glad I was introduced to it (BTW, did Comment Luv not work?)

I love Essence. It’s adorable and collections are constantly being updated. I just wish Australia didn’t seem to get it six months after Germany. Lol. I’m a really fan of their nail polishes.

That’s interesting, Bethany. Since essence launches Spring/Summer and FallWinter collections, could it be that you get them 6 months later because your season’s are reversed in the southern hemisphere? I just bought one of the essence polishes, and I’m hoping it’ll be a keeper!
