Patchology Smoothing Roll Model

As a long-time user of Patchology masks and gel patches, I didn’t realize that they made other skincare products as well. But over the past couple of month, I have branched out and tried something new from Patchology: Smoothing Roll Model, a liquid eye serum.

The Roll Model Collection

I discovered there are three versions of Patchology Roll Model:

I received Smoothing from Patchology to try out. Any of the three options would have suited me.

All three of the Roll Model Under Eye Serums come in a heavy glass vial with a roll-on applicator. Actually, the applicator ball is a jade roller. The Smoothing Roll Model has a yellow jade roller ball, Brightening has a green jade roller, and Moisturizing has a rose quartz roller ball.

Smoothing Roll Model

In addition to having a yellow jade roller ball that is supposed to aid smoothing, Smoothing Roll Model, not surprisingly, has different key ingredients from the other two variants that are designed to soften fine lines in the under eye area:

  • peptides
  • niacinamide
  • bakuchiol, a plant-based retinol alternative.

Acai and blueberry extracts – both potent antioxidants – are added to help fend off environmental aggressors like UV rays and pollution.

A serum, Smoothing Roll Model, is meant to be used prior to applying your regular eye cream or gel. It not only provides stronger active ingredients, but the roller ball form of application is both soothing and smoothing. Chilling the roller ball in the fridge (this is where Marcia’s new Flawless cosmetics fridge really comes in handy) provides even more benefits, like decreasing the look of puffy eyes.

My Experience with Smoothing Roll Model

Patchology Smoothing Roll Model is a nice addition to my eye care regimen especially now that the temperatures are going up. Using the chilled yellow jade roller ball under and around my eye area is relaxing, cooling as well as adding a new tool to attacking my crow’s feet and the tiny fine lines under my eyes. In addition, I run the roller ball over the skin above my crease to further smooth and tighten my skin there.

Although I often have sensitive eyes, I haven’t had any issues with the Patchology Smoothing Roll Model formula. That’s actually why I decided to use it all around my eye area.

I love the fact that Roll Model comes with a built-in jade roller ball. In fact, when I first received the box from Patchology, I was looking for the jade roller. Finally, the lightbulb went on in my brain and I realized I didn’t need a separate roller. Frankly, I am thrilled not to have to search for the roller every time I use it!

Other Pertinent Info

Patchology Roll Model (all three versions) are priced at $22 for 11 ml/0.37 fl. oz. I’ve been using mine for about 6 weeks, I think, and I have only used about 15-20% of the bottle. It can be purchased on the Patchology website (where you can get 20% off with code PATCH20), Skinstore.com (where you can get 10% off with code MD10 as well as 12% cash back now on Rakuten), and at Dermstore.com where you can get a special gift now.

Is a roller-ball eye serum something that you would enjoy this summer? Have you tried Patchology products yet?

  1. These would be great to have. I used a roller last night and was thinking about them today. In the mini fridge would be a great idea especially after coming in from a day outside.
