Chan Luu Champagne Baroque Pearl Drop Earrings

I Bought This, Affiliate Links

You know that I can’t resist jewelry, especially jewelry that’s on sale. Chan Luu is in the midst of their Summer Sale.

Chan Luu is one of my favorite jewelry brands because their designs are modern but with roots in tradition. The jewelry is handcrafted in Vietnam from semi-precious and precious stones, pearls and sterling silver, 14K gold, and gold plated over silver. The prices vary, but especially during sales, there are items below $100.

I love pearls. I’m so glad that pearls are back in style because I never stopped wearing them, especially pearl stud earrings. They’re my go-to. I bought my pinkish pearl studs about 19 years ago at a fantastic jewelry store in Soho in New York, Fragments, that’s sadly no longer in business. I was in the mood for drop pearl earrings that I could wear for occasions when pearl studs weren’t quite right.

During the pre-holiday sale last winter, I bought a pair of cool-toned Petite Silver and Pearl Crescent, hammered hoops from Chan Luu.

I love ’em, especially their contemporary look. But I wanted something in a different shade for other occasions and when I wear warmer-toned colors.

Champagne Baroque and Gold Drop Earrings

I was considering a few different pairs, but I settled on Champagne Baroque and Gold Drop Earrings. This is what they looked like online:

I have a lot of hair below my ears to my shoulders, and earrings have to be big enough to be seen through all this hair. I thought the pearl drop earrings would show up. And I wasn’t wrong.

The earring is supposed to be approximately 0.5″ long, and they appear even longer to me.

The Champagne Baroque pearls themselves are large. In fact, they’re even bigger than I expected! They definitely have presence. And because freshwater pearls like these are unique, the sizes and shapes of the two pearls are slightly different.

Champagne is sort of a pinkish, beige-ish, grayish shade. It’s pretty and different from my usual white or pale pink. It goes well with the 18K gold plated wires. The pearls and gold wires give off a warm tone.

I guess I bought them just in time because, though the Summer Sale continues, the Champagne Baroque Pearl and Gold Drop Earrings have returned to their regular price, $95.  Glad I got them when I did!

If you’re ever interested in anything from Chan Luu when there isn’t a sale, let me know and email me your email address, and I can get you 15% off. I think their jewelry is great for gifting.

  1. Hi, Allison – Congratulations on your latest deal! The pearl drops look wonderful on you. Somehow, when you wear pearls they happen to have the perfect modern vibe so that they look just right! I Looove the loop earrings, even though the cool-toned hammered silver wouldn’t look best on me. You’re lucky that they suit you. Thanks for sharing info (and a discount) on this jewelry brand – Angie, http://www.yourtrueselfblog.com
