Flawless Facial Hair Remover by Finishing Touch

Since going through menopause, I get facial hair on my chin and occasionally on my upper marionette lines. Ugh. I can’t stand it, and tweezing – especially since I had cataract surgery – is difficult if not impossible.

As a result, I use an epilator. I have a special slimmer facial epilator that I like as well as a larger one for legs and underarms that I don’t often use. An epilator (reviewed here ages ago) is essentially like having several tweezers working at once. To be honest, using an epilator is somewhat painful especially at the start of the session. Once I get going, it’s not bad. You swirl the head in circles on your face where you have hairs, and it rips them out at the root with the many mini tweezers. The benefit is that it takes a while (usually several days to a couple of weeks, depending on the area) for the hair to grow back.

Flawless Facial Hair Removal

I remember a sister blogger writing about Flawless a couple of summers ago, and Marcia wrote a post on three Finishing Touch beauty tools including the Flawless Pro Facial Hair Remover (see Marcia’s post here) in May 2022.

A week ago, I was wandering around CVS with a 40% off coupon in hand while waiting for my friend Sue who was doing some serious shopping for her upcoming ski trip. I didn’t need anything in particular at CVS, so when my eyes fell on the white and metallic rose gold Flawless Facial Hair Remover, a tiny electric razor, I thought why not try it at 40% off. So I did.

I was quite eager to give it a go, so I tried it that night. You first install an AA battery in the bottom of the unit, easy peasy.

Next, you take off the metal top to expose the round head.

Then, push the button to turn it on. You can see the button in the photo above on the rose gold front of the unit.

Like the epilator, make circles on your skin where the hair is. Unlike the epilator, there is not pain at all! In fact, I couldn’t feel Flawless actually doing anything because it feels like it’s floating over my skin. But when I shut the unit off and ran my finger over the area, my skin was as smooth as silk. Using Flawless is not only easier and less painful than the epilator, it’s easier, quicker and less painful than using a razor!

The manufacturer, Finishing Touch, summarizes on the website the features and benefits of Flawless, as follows:

  • FINISHING TOUCH FLAWLESS Face removes peach fuzz with ease, leaving skin soft and dewy
  • NEW double halo head for faster hair removal
  • NEW and improved floating head contours over the curves of your face
  • 18 karat gold-plated head is hypoallergenic & dermatologist approved; gentle on all skin types & tones
  • No redness, nicks, or cuts – Instantly soft and FINISHING TOUCH FLAWLESS
  • Built-in LED so you never miss a hair

The head is removable, so it can be cleaned with a Q-tip. I haven’t needed to clean it yet, but it looks easy.

The key downside for me is that it seems like the hair grows back quickly, especially when compared to using the epilator. But using Flawless Facial Hair Remover literally takes seconds and is completely painless, so it’s worthwhile to quickly run the unit over a couple of areas on my face when necessary.

Another potential downside that is also not insurmountable is that over time (weeks, months, years??), the blades on the head portion can dull. But not to fear, Amazon sells replacement heads. It will be interesting to determine how long the current head will last.

At CVS, Flawless was priced around $20 (the CVS website says it’s $20.99). With the 40% off coupon, I paid $12+. Frankly, even at $21, Flawless is worth the price. It’s sold on/at:

If you are still shopping for stocking stuffers or small gifts for someone who is complaining about facial hair, you know what to do!
