Ipsy/Boxycharm March ’24 Box

OK, so I never pulled the plug on Ipsy. I am still an every other month subscriber. I couldn’t give up those pricey skincare items that still come my way either in my semi-monthly box or as a deeply discounted “add-on”.

I haven’t reviewed any of my boxes in the longest time. Not sure why. Generally, I have been satisfied with them. And I have bought several travel size and full size add-on products.

The union of Ipsy and Boxycharm hasn’t made much of a difference IMO. Before it occurred, Ipsy said that they would stop sending a drawstring bag and instead send better products. Frankly, I have enough drawstring bags and old Ipsy makeup bags to last me for the rest of my life, so that was fine with me. But I can’t say that the quality of the brands has changed much: the products seem to be the mix of new brands, indie brands, as well as the well-known brands especially in skincare that they have always offered. The price went up from $25 to over $30, but during and after the Covid pandemic, everything increased in price. I’m mostly OK with it.

March 2024 Ipsy/Boxycharm Box

Even though the step up box of full size products is rebranded as Boxycharm, they kept the idea of a monthly tagline. But to save money, the newsletter with information about the box is printed in color on paper that’s similar to what is still call newsprint. For those who are new to Ipsy, it probably won’t make a difference. I never subscribed to Boxycharm when it was a separate entity, so I don’t know what the information accompanying the box was like, perhaps this is what it was. But to me, it looks a little cheesy though it does look more like a newsletter.

The theme for March is “Rewrite the Rules” interpreted as “do as you please”. A broad theme that can fit just about any products.

So, what did I receive?

Elemis Pro-Collagen Marine Cream: I’ve been eager to try some skincare products from Elemis, an English luxury skincare brand, and this month, I got my chance. I received a 1 fl. oz. jar of Elemis Pro-Collagen Marine Cream, a marine and plant-based, collagen-stimulating anti-wrinkle product. So far, I have just tried it, but I will definitely use it and give it a go. $94

Mudmasky Sleep Repair Renewal Nourishing Mask: Mudmasky is one of the skincare brands that I discovered via Ipsy that I really like! I haven’t yet had a chance to try the Sleep Repair Renewal Nourishing Mask, but I look forward to trying it. $55

Aceology Berry Glaze Overnight Lip Mask: In spite of my being in love with City Lips, I am nevertheless more than willing to try other brands of lip treatment products. I have tried Aceology facial masks, again via Ipsy, and I liked them. The 15 ml travel size berry-flavored lip mask contains nutritious plant-based oils: Squalane, Coconut Oil, Macadamia Oil, and Olive Oil. Right now, Aceology Overnight Lip Masks in both the 15ml and 30ml sizes are sold out on the Aceology website. Makes me wonder if it is being discontinued at least in the Berry flavor? value $20

Il Makiage Lip Service, shade PDA: Il Makiage Lip Service is a high-shine lip gloss that isn’t thick or sticky. It is lightweight and it stays moist on the lips. The shade, PDA, is peach, and it’s perfect for spring, but it also comes in 9 other shades. I look forward to wearing the shade I got, but I am also eyeing “Slow Burn”, a shade of red. It comes in an attractive, heavy glass or plastic square tube. $27

Wander TrailBlazer Eyeshadow Palette: The Wander TrailBlazer Eyeshadow Palette contains 10 shades of powder eyeshadow in what looks to me like a combination of warm and cool shades. It also contains a combination of 5 shimmer shades and 5 mattes. There are also 2 green shades. I think this will be a good set of shades for me. It has a large mirror. $42 Here’s the shade list: 1. Jen: soft champagne shimmer 2. Madi: cool bronze shimmer 3. Mandy: brick red matte 4. Divya: warm peach shimmer 5. Noreen: cool olive green matte 6. Lindsay P: pink champagne shimmer 7. Elizabeth: cool brown matte 8. Mackenzie: pink amethyst shimmer 9. Alyx: soft gold shimmer 10. Lindsay E: yellow green shimmer

The value of the Ipsy/Boxycharm box I received was $238. I will certainly use all 5 of the products I got.

I also added on a black and white striped Kitsch shower cap with a cute bow to replace the stretched out cap that I threw away last month. It fits well and keeps my hair dry, unlike the old one that had an ineffective lining. $18.99 (I think I paid $8 for it.)

  1. Hi Allison! The Wander eye shadow palette is so pretty and now it is in my cart! Glad to see the brand going strong. Sephora only carries a few items now and I was worried they were fading away.

    1. Mary, the Wander palette is so pretty! I just got back from vacation, and I saw that Wander Beauty is having a Spring Cleaning Sale with 20% off everything with the code SPRING. Members get two times the loyalty rewards. Also, Rakuten has 5% cashback on Wander now. So if you haven’t bought it already, hope you can get the sale price and the Rakuten 5% cash back! LMK how you like it! <3

I’d be pleasantly surprised with this box. I’m still using up blogging products plus ones I’ve bought the last 2 years but maybe then I’d reconsider. Your box is definitely worth the $30 you paid.
