Everyone Should Have Flowers from The Bouqs.com

When I first met Jeff, he used to bring me roses frequently. Like almost every weekend. Pink ones. Yellow ones. And then finally, my favorite shade, coral. Now that we’ve been together for about 12 years, he brings roses for my birthday and Valentine’s Day, and I love getting them…I just wish they came a little bit more often  😕

So how happy was I when I was given the opportunity to choose flowers from a vast array of options to be delivered to my home? Not from Jeff this time, but from a new company called thebouqs.com (get it: bouquet?! I don’t love the name, but whatever. I love their flowers).

I went to their website, and I was amazed at how many beautiful and stylish options there were to choose. There was a variety of flowers and bouquets — really something for all tastes. Often online florists have rather dowdy-looking arrangements, and they are usually really expensive too. Thebouqs.com is incredibly affordable and each bouquet comes in three sizes: $40 Original (a dozen), $50 Deluxe (2 dozen) and $70 Grand (3 dozen). And that includes delivery! No extra or hidden fees. That’s it. Plus once you become a customer, they have specials, discounts and even free bouquets for referring friends.

If you or your special person is exceptionally generous, thebouqs.com has a Concierge Service where you can arrange to send flowers on a regular basis! Oh, I need to meet someone who will do that for me!

So let me tell you about my flowers. I took my time looking at all the offerings and all the colors. Not surprisingly, I went with roses in my favorite shade, coral! They call them Dawn.

I ordered the Original bouquet. The flowers were delivered within a week by Fedex. They came in a box which is my favorite way to receive flowers. Receiving roses in a box reminds me of old black & white movies with Fred Astaire & Ginger Rogers during the glamour days of New York. Plus, eons ago when I was in college in New York, my friend Don sent me roses in a box to thank me for putting him up for a few days. That’s elegance!

The box from thebouqs.com was a state-of-the-art box designed to protect and nourish the roses during transit. You can see them below, tucked in their little bed for shipping.

There was even a note from the company.

The flowers either come from sustainable, eco-friendly farms near an active volcano in South America (that makes for rich soil!) or from California for next day deliveries. Thoughtfully, they include two extra roses in each box in case of injury. I took my roses out, followed the instructions for cutting the stems and adding the life-extending powder pack.

I had the perfect vase to arrange the roses in. Here are my roses on Day 1. I think the color is just perfect for my house! I love ’em. In fact, they exceeded my expectations. What do you think?

Here’s Day 2. Slightly more open than Day 1.

I had to go away for a long weekend, and I couldn’t take my roses with me. I expected to come back to wilted roses, but instead this is how they looked when I returned on Day 6.

What a surprise! They looked almost the same as when I left three days earlier. At that point, I changed the water.

On Day 10, I removed a couple of wilted stems and changed the water and vase. I’d say they still look great!

Here’s Day 14. They were beginning to look dry, so I threw them out two days later on Day 16. Have you ever had roses that lasted more than 2 weeks????

I was so happy with my roses from thebouqs.com that I ordered yellow roses to be sent as a birthday gift to a friend who has everything. (He loved them!) They were even 15% off through the AUTUMN15 promo. Sold!!

With the holidays and gift-giving season coming up, I think thebouqs.com is just the service to consider for hostess gifts, gifts for loved ones who are far away, or just for whatever — anyone who needs a lift including yourself. And if you do, I’d be so happy if you’d place your order through the ad below or the banner at the top of the homepage where you can save 15% or through the pink links where you see the brand name in this blogpost. You can also check out The Bouqs on Facebook and follow them on Twitter @TheBouqs to find out about special offers.

  4. Gorgeous Amazing Spectacular. Can you tell I love flowers lol!

    1. Linda, thanks for your comment <3 If you ever need to send flowers, definitely check this online service out! I was shocked that the roses lasted for more than 2 weeks. I was so impressed I sent them to a friend for his birthday. And with the 15% off, they are definitely affordable. I'm hoping Jeff, my guy, will take the hint, lol.

  5. I’ve booked marked this site! I usually use proflowers, but it’s always nice to find another floral vendor. And .. I am so not a fan of FTD.

    1. When I could afford it, I used to use Winston Flowers in Boston, but it cost me $100 to send a bouquet including shipping and tax. I can’t do it anymore. I used proflowers, I think, last year to send tulips to my friend in Atlanta who was in the hospital. With the added costs, it ended up being much more than my original discount price. I like a number of things about this company: the contemporary look of the bouquets, the longevity of the flowers (based on the ones I received and the bouquet I sent to a friend), and the PRICE! I hope if you do use them in the future, you might order through my website 😉 and get the 15% off

  6. These are absolutely beautiful! How was the scent? For some reason, every time I buy roses that last awhile, they don’t smell very much.
Jessica recently posted…Nail Art Inspired by Glamour-Zine’s Outfit of the DayMy Profile

    1. Jessica, roses that are raised to be cut flowers do not have a scent, unfortunately. They smell fresh, but not like outdoor roses that grow on a bush. When they select for different traits to develop the roses, they select for longevity and that must interfere with the scent gene?? I cut my last Disney rose to bring in the other day before the temperature took a nose dive, and it smelled so wonderful, but it is a totally different kind of rose from a long-stem. I must say in spite of the lack of a scent, I loved the roses from the Bouqs. The color and longevity were amazing

  7. I can’t believe how long they lasted! They don’t look like the flowers in the promo picture, but they might be even prettier. My husband doesn’t send flowers to me as often, but he still buys them for me at the grocery store. I’ll have to show him this site!

    1. You should, Nidia! Jeff also gets flowers for me from the grocery store, but they never last for 2 weeks! I hope maybe for a special occasion he’ll order them from thebouqs.com ‘coz there’s nothing like getting them delivered!!

  9. These are such gorgeous roses! I love having fresh flowers, but my savage cats like to destroy them! I can only enjoy them in rooms with closed doors! I can’t believe that they lasted 2 weeks– that’s amazing!

    1. Oh no, Lola! Oh, those savage cats! I couldn’t believe they lasted that long either. The Bouqs has become my go-to gift idea especially for people far away or for those who have everything. I hope Jeff will take the hint and send me some one of these days, so I can have some more 😉

  10. Beautiful! I used to treat myself to a dozen roses for $5 back in the day. I think they’re a great treat!

    1. I did that too, Sheila! Can you believe that a dozen roses was ever $5??

  11. Yes, my savages will knock everything down unless it’s nailed down! 2 weeks is crazy longevity for roses (or any flowers for that matter). I hope that Jeff takes the hint! 🙂

  14. I’m not much of a flower person. Had an ex who would cheat on me (I didn’t know) and then he’d send me flowers after he did it. Found out after we broke up. Jerk face ruined red roses for me.

  23. Those are gorgeous flowers!!!! I’m a little hesitant to order flowers online and have ’em delivered to the recipients because I’ve read/heard horror stories that what you see and paid for online aren’t the same when they’re delivered….

    1. I hear ya, Kathryne! In the past using other random flower delivery companies, I have had that problem and I’ve been embarrassed. It can be a risk to send flowers. I was surprised that my roses from The Bouqs were MORE beautiful than the photo, and my friend said his yellow roses that I sent were gorgeous. I now feel like I’ve found an online florist that I can trust and afford.

  24. Beautiful roses 🙂 I wish some one sent me a box of roses 😛

    1. I’ve always been a flower person, Kimmi, but then I’ve been a gardener since I was a child. When I was a little girl, my mom used to take me to The Flower Show. For me, it may be because we have long, gloomy winters so indoor plants and flowers helped cheer us up till the good weather. I’m glad you’re beginning to enjoy them more.

  26. I am such a huge supporter of bouqs… their bouquets are gorgeous and I have them sent to all kinds of family from all over. They are so affordable and have beautiful flowers. 😉 These you have here are gorgeous.

  27. Flowers are a timeless gift, and I like that they offer a coupon to maximize savings.

    1. I agree, Anastasia. Almost everyone loves to receive flowers, and I was amazed at how affordable the bouquets from The Bouqs turn out to be. They also look more contemporary to me with nicely curated choices than other online florists.

  28. What gorgeous roses!! I’m with you, I want my hubby to bring me flowers more often too. I can’t be too picky though, when he does, it usually catches me off guard and makes my day! They lasted 2 weeks? That’s amazing and they STILL looked great!

    1. Thanks, Dani! I was blown away by the gorgeousness and especially the longevity of these roses. Isn’t it a great surprise to receive flowers when you’re not expecting them? I’m glad your husband does that!

  31. They are such gorgeous flowers ! The bases are really nice as well.

    1. I agree, Betzy! I’m not sure what you mean by “the bases”…unless it’s a typo and you mean the “vases”? The vases are mine. The leaf vase was made by a local artist, and the green, peach, beige and light yellow shades looked great with the coral roses, I thought. The white milk glass vase belonged to my mom. 🙂
