Too Faced Sweethearts Perfect Flush Blush

It’s almost Valentine’s Day, one of my favorite holidays, because I am and have always been a collector of hearts. Strangely, it is something I have not outgrown. I have heart-shaped everything. And I’m easy to buy gifts for: anything with a heart will do.

So, it comes as no surprise that I would be first in line to buy Too Faced Sweethearts Perfect Flush Blush their new heart-shaped blush. I’m not a big blush user, so clearly I was enticed by the shape and the absolute cuteness of the packaging.

For some time, I’ve been using Bare Mineral’s blush in Beauty, a deep rose shade that’s very pretty. But I don’t think Bare Mineral’s Beauty is right for me because I’m so pink to begin with. And mineral color is difficult to tone down. (This was written before I discovered a fan brush or a stippling brush!).

The Too Faced blush comes in 3 shades: pink, peach and in the middle a shimmery peach. At first, I wondered whether the colors were a gimmick, or whether you could actually try to choose among the shades (that would require some deft wrist work with your blush brush). It turns out that the gimmick is that the colors blend into a peachy-pink with an ever-so-slight shimmer that is both subtle and flattering.

While the Bare Minerals blush that I’ve been wearing is too pink and too obvious, the Too Faced Sweethearts Perfect Flush Blush is sheer color. Very sheer and very subtle. In fact, I planned to post a swatch, but when I photographed the blush on the inside of my arm, you could hardly see the color in the photo. So if you’re looking for a blush with impact, this is not it. But for me, it’s perfect. With Too Faced Sweethearts Perfect Flush Blush, I’ve finally found a blush that tones down my natural pink by adding a little peach, and brings the eye to my cheeks with their slight iridescent glow and away from my crow’s feet.

At $30, Too Faced Sweethearts Perfect Flush Blush is kinda pricey. However, Ulta had a “20% off your entire purchase” coupon, so that put it a little more within reach.
