Osmosis Colour: Beautiful Makeup That’s Good For You

Osmosis Skincare has a unique philosophy. Instead of making skincare and makeup that inflames skin and ages it faster, Dr. Ben Johnson (who’s really cute, BTW!) created a line of skincare and color cosmetics that are actually good for skin and help skin look and act younger. Sign me up for that!

Osmosis Skincare products are natural, and they are often recommended for those with serious illnesses. But they are great for those who are healthy too! Check out the Osmosis website for details on their entire product line and their philosophy!

Although they have a huge line of skincare products, I had the opportunity to try four makeup products from Osmosis Colour: two eye products and two lipsticks.

Lipstick

Right off the bat, I was in love with the Osmosis lipsticks. Each comes in a slim, elegant, eggplant-colored metallic tube. Very chic. Very easy to carry.

I received two fabulous, seriously pigmented shades:

  • Showstopper (on the left): coral (that changes color in different lighting: sometimes peach, sometimes orange, sometimes coral but all gorgeous!)
  • Sassy: red-orange

Both suit me very well. I can’t choose a favorite!

Osmosis lipstick is easy to apply. The slim, slanted bullet makes it a cinch to use to get a precise edge.

The lipstick is comfortable to wear: creamyish. Although the Osmosis website defines this lipstick as “creamy”, on me it is neither hydrating nor drying. It has a nice semi-matte finish. It’s also long-lasting which is fabulous.

There are 8 shades that represent a good range of shades that are popular now: nudes to browns to reds to purples. Beautiful.

Osmosis Colour Lipstick contains and is priced at $22.

Ingredients: Castor Oil, Pentaerythrityl Tetraethylhexanoate, Silica, Beeswax (Cera Alba), Octyldodecanol, Ozokerite, Lycium Barbarum (Goji) Extract (and) Carthamus Tinctorius (Safflower) Seed Oil, Camellia Sinensis Seed Oil, Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E Acetate), Ethylhexylglycerin, Caprylyl Glycol (and) Phenoxyethanol (and) Hexylene Glycol, Flavor. May Contain (+/-): Mica (CI 77019), Titanium Dioxide (CI 77891), Iron Oxides (CI 77491, CI 77492, CI 77499), Carmine (CI 75470), Blue # 1 Lake (CI 42090), Red 7 Lake (CI 15850), Red # 22 Lake (CI 45380), Red # 28 Lake (CI 45410), Red # 30 Lake (CI 73360), Yellow # 5 Lake (CI 19140), Manganese Violet (CI 77742), Calcium Aluminum Borosilicate (and) Silica (and) Titanium Dioxide (CI 77891), Calcium Sodium Borosilicate (and) Tin Oxide (CI 77861), Synthetic Fluorphlogopite (CI 77019).

Volumizing Mascara

Osmosis Colour sells two mascaras with different wands: Curling with a curved wand and Volumizing with a traditional wand. I received the Volumizing mascara.

I was amazed by how much I love the Osmosis Colour Volumizing Mascara! It’s so easy to apply: no clumps at all. My eyelashes have gotten weirder as I’ve gotten older, and it’s harder to apply any mascara with a sweep of the wand. I often have to apply it with the tip of the wand. With the Osmosis Volumizing Mascara, I can sweep the mascara on my lashes with the wand and then go back with the tip and even out my hard to coat lashes. Not sure why, but it works for me! The Osmosis mascara formula is very smooth. It has a very natural look. Applying extra coats will built it up more. And there’s no fallout ever.

What surprised me is that it really helps my lashes maintain the curl. If the Volumizing is great at keeping a curl, the Curling Mascara must be beyond amazing at curling!

Because it is so easy for me to create pretty, long, curled lashes with Osmosis Volumizing Mascara, I’ve found myself reaching for this mascara all the time.

Like the lipstick, the Osmosis Colour Volumizing Mascara comes in a slim purple metallic tube. It contains 0.296oz / 8.4mL and is priced at $20.

Ingredients: Water, Acrylates/Ethylhexyl Acrylate Copolymer, Shellac Cera, Beeswax, Acacia Senegal Gum, Palmitic acid, Stearic acid, VP/Hexadecene Copolymer, Copernicia Cerifera(Carnauba) Wax, Triethanolamine, Cetearyl Olivate, Sorbitan Olivate, Trimethylpentanediol/adipic acid/glycerin crosspolymer, Butylene Glycol, Oleic Acid, Nylon-12, Glyceryl Stearate, Microcrystalline Wax, Hydroxyethylcellulose, 1,2-Hexanediol, Caprylyl Glycol, Phenoxyethanol, Ethylhexylglycerin, Panthenol, Sodium Hyaluronate, Disodium EDTA, Iron Oxides.

Brow Gel

Osmosis Brow Gel comes with a handy built-in brush. I love that because I don’t have to hunt for a brush or carry a brush with me if I’m traveling or on the go. Like the other two products, it’s easy to apply with the little brush. The color stays put all day. It’s a lovely brow gel!

Osmosis Colour Brow Gel in Auburn with brush neversaydiebeauty.com @redAllison

Osmosis describes the brow gel as water-resistant and smudge-proof, and from experience, I would agree. It doesn’t smear and it stays on till I take it off.

It comes in 4 shades: Auburn, Blonde, Brown, and Taupe. The Auburn is just a wee bit darker than I usually wear, but I like the way it looks.

I was noticing the comments about the Brow Gel on the Osmosis website, and two salon owners left reviews saying that the Osmosis Brow Gel sells itself because it’s that good. I can see why!

The cute little container with the metallic top contains 0.1411 oz / 4 g. Osmosis Colour Brow Gel is priced at $22. Like the lipstick, it is oncology friendly.

Ingredients: Isododecane, Ethylene-Propylene Copolymer, Dimethicone, , Isohexadecane, Polymethylmethacrylate, Microcrystalline Wax, Beeswax, Copernicia Cerifera Cera, Pigment May Contain (+/-): Mica (CI 77019), Titanium Dioxide (CI 77891), Black Iron Oxide (CI 77499), Yellow Iron Oxide (CI 77492), Red Iron Oxide (CI 77491)

Final Thoughts

I love all of the makeup I’ve tried so far from Osmosis Colour! The lipsticks and brow gel are gorgeous, suit me so well, and they will last me a long time. But I know I’ll be back for more of the mascara because my lashes love it! I hope you’ll checkout the Osmosis website and consider giving Osmosis a try. Osmosis Skincare and Colour products are sold at Dermstore.com and at fine salons. I live in the middle of nowhere, pretty much, and there’s a salon within 10 miles of my house that sells it, yippee!
